You're Pretty Cool Kid

Just popping in today to share a card that I "cased" from a card I saw on Pinterest by Lizzie Jones, which you can see on her blog post here.

I just loved the way the fan was blowing confetti in the air! I though it would be fun, festive, and sparkly, to have my confetti be sequins.

I didn't have the stamp set she used, but they had the perfect little print and cut fan at the Silhouette Store. I masked a little oval on my card base and sponged it with some grey ink, and then placed my fan on top of it with some pop dots.

I created my sentiment on the computer. A little piece of scrap patterned paper from my stash for the bottom border and my card was complete :)

Supplies Used: card stock - white; patterned paper in Fiction by Basic Grey; print and cut file from Silhouette Studio; sequins from Papertrey Inc.; Pop Dots

The second card I made I used those darling aprons, and stamped them on patterned papers by Basic Grey and then fussy cut them. I cased it from a cute card I saw on Pinterest.

Get Well Cards

My husband was home today with this awful cold. I feel sorry for him (up to a point, LOL).
He is a tad bit grouchy when he's not feeling well.

I decided to hole up in my craft room and stay away from him (hoping not to catch it).

Anyways, it kind of inspired me to make a couple of Get Well cards.

Here is the first one:

I fussy cut some flowers from a sheet of patterned paper in the June Bug line by Basic Grey

Supplies used: card stock - blue and coral; patterned papers from June Bug by Basic Grey; doily - Wilton; chipboard letters - Blue Line by Cosmo Cricket; string and button - my stash; Pop Dots.

And, here is the second:

Also using a fussy cut flower from the same piece of patterned paper.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, yellow; patterned papers - June Bug by Basic Grey and Citrus Bliss 6X6 pad by Pink Paislee; stamps - Salutations by Paper Smooches; enamel dots - Sprinkles by Doodlebug and Chalk by My Minds Eye.

Hope Everyone in Your Home is Feeling Fine!!

Happy Mother's Day

We are getting close to Mothers Day!

Do you have any plans?

My hubby has offered to take me out to dinner, but not sure I want to fight the crowds everywhere, although I love to have an evening out.

Since we are running out of time, I thought I'd share a couple quick cards with you.

The first one is just a few cuts of paper, a stamp, and a couple of die cuts.

The tiny little bow is a die from Paper Smooches. I just didn't use the tail piece.

The Mom die is from Lil' Inker Designs

Supplies used: card stock - red; patterned papers - Emma's Shoppe and Party Day by Crate Paper; stamps - hearts2diefor by The Stamps Of Life; ink - Jet Black Archival; Mom die - Lil' Inker Designs; baby bow die - Paper Smooches.

The second card is also just a few cuts of paper and a cute chipboard accent.

I cut the circles out using my Silhouette Cameo and I masked the stamp so I could stamp each word separately.

Supplies used: card stock - coral, navy; patterned papers  and chipboard sticker from June Bug by Basic Grey; stamp - GCS Artstamps; ink - Jet Black Archival; enamel dots - My Minds Eye

Happy Mothers Day!!

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season!!!!

It's kind of hard to believe that it has already come and gone. It seemed that December just flew by.

We are back to business over at Die Cuttin' Divas after a short break for Christmas.
For this weeks challenge we have a sketch for you to try.

For my card I thought in addition to the sketch I would play along over at Paper Players in their first challenge for this year - "Everything Old Is New Again"

I created the card using two Cricut cartridges - "Sentimentals" and "A Childs Year".  For my recycled or repurposed item I used some antique buttons and vintage lace.

Supplies used: card stock - white, cream, grey, peach; patterned papers from Basic Grey "Fiction" 6X6 paper pad; Cricut Cartridges - "Sentimentals" and "A Childs Year"; antique buttons and vintage lace from my stash; QuicKutz envelope die; Pop Dots

I Love You So Mulch

Hi, I'm popping in today with a card I created for a couple of challenges.

Over at Paper Smooches there is a new challenge using this picture as inspiration:

And there is a fun challenge this week over at Casology with a cue card of "Roots"

At first I thought it was going to be very hard for me to come up with a card using that cue. Then I remembered this darling stamp set by Paper Smooches that I had called Green Thumb. I knew it had carrots and radishes in it and, I believe, they are both root vegetables. Thus my card came into being.

Supplies used: card stock - white; patterned papers from Fiction 6 X 6 pad by Basic Grey and Bitty Dot Basics by Papertrey Inc.; stamps - Green Thumb by Paper Smooches; ink - Tuxedo Black by Memento; Copic Markers; corner rounder - Fiskars.

Today I Will Be Happier......

This is my second post for today.

I saw this technique on Pinterest and wanted to give it a try. I love the way the stamped image looks behind the tulle.

I used a darling Itty Bitty stamp set by Unity called Bird With A French Fry. I colored it with my Copic markers and used a little Dazzle glitter glue in the middle of the flowers. Used a circle punch on the patterned paper and glued the tulle on the back of it. I stamped the sentiment on the patterned paper also and added a few sequins for fun.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, red; patterned paper - White Bread in PB&J by Basic Grey; stamps - Bird With A French Fry by Unity; ink - Rich Cocoa by Memento; Dazzle glitter glue by Hero Arts; tulle - my stash; sequins - Martha Stewart; Pop Dots

Whimsical Designs "Clean and Simple" Challenge

I hope everyone in the US enjoyed their July 4th weekend!!! We had a fabulous time at our annual trek to Donner Lake. The fireworks over the lake are the best ever!!! My 5 year old grandson sang "It's a Beautiful Night" from Lady and the Tramp, during the whole fireworks display. His own version as you may imagine. It was so cute, he just sang the whole time, he was so happy :)

Well, as it is Wednesday, it is time for a new challenge over at Whimsical Designs! This weeks challenge is "Clean and Simple", create a CAS card with minimum layers and embellishments.

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is Crafty Sentiments. The winner will pick 3 digis of their choice!

For my card, I used a darling image from Crafty Sentiments called Rose and Roxy. I printed my image directly on to my card base and also on to a piece of patterned paper so I could fussy cut her dress out. I colored her with Copic markers. My sentiment is from Stephanie's Everyday Sentiments

Since our card was to be CAS, I only added a little piece of ribbon and a button tied with twine to my image.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white; patterned paper - Yumberry from Hello Luscious by Basic Grey; digital image - Crafty Sentiments Designs; Copic markers; ribbon - American Crafts; button - my stash; twine - Liz's Paper Loft Boutique; stamp - Everyday Sentiments by Whimsical Designs; ink - Tuxedo Black by Memento.

Now, stop by Whimsical Designs and peruse the CAS cards the design team has created! I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us this week!!!

Hexagon Mother's Day

I saw a card by Kalyn Kepner in one of my card magazines which inspired me to make this card for my Mother-in-law for Mother's Day.

I took advantage of my Cameo once again, using a Silhouette cut file to cut out my hexagon background in recycled white paper and then to cut out all the hexagons in patterned paper.

I did a little stitching with my sewing machine as a border around my background pattern paper.

A border punch, some twine and a button dress it up a little bit.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, patterned papers from Fiction 6X6 paper pad by Basic grey; Silhouette Studio cut file; stamp - GCS Art Stamps; ink - Barn Door Distress Ink by Tim Holtz for Ranger; border punch - Martha Stewart; button and twine - my stash; sewing machine; Pop Dots.

Vintage Car Happy Birthday

I wanted to play in the challenge over at Seize The Birthday!

For my card I inked up the Cars & Trucks background stamp by Basic Grey with Faded Jeans distress ink. I cut an 1/8" slit in it about a fourth of the way down to mimic the slit in the sketch. I cut my car out of blue card stock using a Silhouette Studio cut file. For the sentiment I stamped it on white card stock, cut it to look lie a banner, punched to tiny holes in it and ran a stick pin through it, then attached it to my car so that it would look like an antenna.

Supplies used: card stock - white, recycled white, blue; stamps - Cars & Trucks Silhouette by Basic Grey, WTF by Cas-ual Fridays Stamps; ink - Faded Jeans Distress Ink by Tim Holtz for Ranger and Tuxedo Black by Memento; Silhouette Studio cut file; stick pin - Little Yellow Bicycle; circle punch - EK Success; hole punch - Fiskars; Pop Dots.

Whimsical Designs "Bling" Challenge

Everyone loves a little sparkle now and then, and that's what we're asking you to do for this week's challenge over at Whimsical Designs, create a project using "bling".

We have a fabulous design team who have some wonderful creations to share with you and inspire you, so please stop by the blog and leave them a little love.

Our sponsor this week is Paper Nest Dolls!!! They have some darling digital images you'll just fall in love with. The prize you can win is 3 Copic markers of your choice and, better yet, if you use a Paper's Nest Dolls image in your creation you can win 5 Copic markers!!!!!!

For my card I used Lightening Bug Ellie and the sentiment You Light Up My Life, both from paper Nest Dolls, along with one of Stephanie's stamps "Love Bug" from her stamp set With Love.
I printed out my digital image 3 times - on the star background paper, on white blending paper and on the flower patterned paper so that I could fussy cut out her dress. After I finished coloring her and attaching her dress I fussy cut her out and used pop dots to attach her to the background paper.

I added my bling by using yellow Stickles on all the fireflies and attaching rhinestones to the centers of the stars.
