BBTB2 - Thanks

Happy Monday Friends!
Hope you had a great weekend.

My son took a bit of a nosedive last week and we were at the hospital a couple of times again!
Apparently not appendix, so now they are running tests to look for more unusual things.
We are still waiting for results and taking one day at a time. It was his birthday last week as well poor lad!

The lovely Emily has asked us to make a Thanks card this week over at BBTB2. I think it was more inline for Thanksgiving but I deviated! lol

I used Artiste for all the cuts. I'm afraid my creative hat hasn't been on for a while but I like how it turned out.

Do check out all the fabulous inspiration from the DT ladies and come and play along.

It's also my birthday today and I am going out for the day...hopefully!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Pumpkins

Hi Everybody, hope you had a good weekend.
Thank you for all your well wishes for my son.
They ruled out kidney and definitely appendix and lymph nodes are very sore, but are doing other tests.
He's still unwell and I am awaiting a call back from the GP as I write this!
He collapsed over 8 weeks ago and for a usually fit and healthy sports mad 13 year old to be like this is not right. Obviously blogging is taking a back seat at the moment but I will call by soon. Thank you for understanding.

The lovely and talented Caroline over at BBTB2 has challenged us to use a pumpkin cut.

I used Artiste for this 3d pumpkin and cut it a few extra times, added ink and black enamel and glossy accents. I seem to love thread and pegs at the moment and if I ever get around to taking photos of tags I have been making you will see that!

I hope you will call by and see all the wonderful inspiration from the DT and link up and play along.

Thanks for stopping by.

BBTB2 - Leaves

Hi, how are you doing?
Today is a new challenge over at BBTB2 and we are using Fall leaves.

I cut 3 leaves at 1.75" from Artiste.
Crumpled them, inked them and added some bronze and gold gilding wax.
I machine stitched them to the card and stamped a Paper Smooches greeting.

Sorry I haven't been around...I  have had a very poorly son who is getting much better now.
I hope to get some time and catch up with you all really soon.

Thanks for dropping by, Do check out all the amazing projects from my team mates.

BBTB2 - Gift Packaging

Good Morning and welcome to Jayne Designs!
How was your weekend?
Mine was busy and fun with the added bonus of beautiful weather and time with family and friends.

Today I am host  over at BBTB2 and the challenge is gift packaging.
We all need bags, tags, boxes and ribbons for one occasion or another.

I kept my collection really simple and let the beautiful papers do the talking!
I like having pillow boxes on hand as I can make them up but they store flat until ready to use.

I used TBBM2 for these cut at 6 and 7". The scoring tool really makes assembly crisp and easy.

The little gift cards were cut at 2 and 2.5" and the ribbons .25" and .5" from Artiste.
The papers are Bazzill Basics Vintage Lace. They have a lovely texture on them, almost fabric like.
The tiny bow is by Mama Elephant.

Do check out all the wonderful inspiration from the ladies over at BBTB2 and hope you can join us in this fun challenge.

BBTB2 - Birthday Cake

Good Morning. Hope you had a great weekend.

Today, Diana has challenged us over at BBTB2 to use our cricuts to make a project  with a birthday cake on it.

I used Artiste at 4.75" for the cake and my scoreboard to 3d the wrapper.
The heart and sentiment are both from My Creative Time.
The paper was scraps on my table.

This was for a friend who loves making cupcakes.
Do check out all the inspiration from the DT and come and play along.

Thanks for looking.

Tissue Box

Hi Everyone, well where do the weekends go?
Hope yours was a good one.

Monday, so that means it's time for a new challenge over at BBTB2. Emily is our hostess this week and has asked us to fire up our cricuts and make a Get Well card.

Unfortunately I missed the 'card' part of the brief!!

I thought a box of tissues are always useful when you're poorly!

I used Artiste for the box cut at fit to page ( 2.5") and flowers cut at 2"

I liked that the lid has a pretty shaped opening and comes off so you can refill it.

supplies: cricut Artiste, DP - Love Collection, My Creative Time - Chunky Jar Accessories, diamond dust

Check out all the fabulous cards from the DT ladies and come and join in the fun.

Faux Porcelain Brooch

Hi Everyone, hope you had a great weekend.
Today is a new challenge over at BBTB2 and Melanie has asked us to use a cricut cut flower for her challenge of April Showers bring May Flowers.

I made a brooch ...

My melt pot eventually arrived so I got to play with my beeswax and UTEE.
The base of the brooch is one of the chipboard shapes that comes with Artiste.
I then cut a circle at 1.75" to fit, inked the edges and melted beeswax over it.
It gives a lovely vintage feel to it.

I cut a flower at 2.5" from Art Philosophy and leaves from Artiste.
I then melted UTEE in the melt pot and dipped them in it to make faux porcelain leaves and flower.

I added blue twine and a brooch fastener and then hot glued everything to the brooch.
Just a pearl flourish to finish.

The ladies have some awesome projects to inspire you so do check them out and hope you come and play along.

Thanks for looking.

BBTB2 For Mum

Hi Everyone, it's Bank Holiday here in the UK, so we are enjoying an extended (and sunny!) weekend.

Over at BBTB2 this week's challenge is a project for Mum.

Mother's Day was back in March here and I made my wonderful Mum a beautiful card.
I photographed it ready to share for this week but unfortunately I can't find it on the computer!

So I made a quick and easy treat container instead.

I used Artiste for the cone and flourish.
The rosette is Tim Holtz and the hessian flower is a circle cut into a flower.

I love this sentiment from My Craft Spot, it is so true!

My DT sisters have made some awesome projects so do check them out.
Hope you will come and join in the fun, just remember to use a cricut cut on your project.

Thanks for visiting.

Cupid Wall Hanger

Happy Monday, hope you had a great weekend.

Today is a new challenge over at BBTB2 and our really lovely and talented Brenda has asked us to use a cricut heart or cupid this week.

Now,I was on a sorting mission and decided to empty and reorganise my walk in cupboard in my craft room. I have decided to sell or give to charity any older or unused craft items which I have collected over the last 11 years or so. Also to get rid of some of the packaging I keep to recycle.

Apparently I had managed to stow(read hoard) more stuff in that cupboard than we have in the loft!! So yesterday hubby painted the cupboard and this week is going to put shelving and a light in for me.
So when finished I can sort out and then eventually move onto my craft room drawers. It seemed such a good idea at the time....so read chaos in my room!!
Also did my first ever craft fair at the weekend and it went really well...but more mess in my room!!

So Sunday afternoon and after eventually locating my cricut this is what I came up with.

I used Artiste for all cuts,hearts at 4.5" and 4",cupid at 2.5".
A little embossing, inking, enamelling and painting et voila!
My Creative Time for banner die and sentiment.
Just added a sparkly heart and lots of 3d foam.

This was so quick and easy to make(under 20 minutes) and I really like it!

Some of my lovely followers have asked for tutorials on certain techniques or projects and I promise to try and do some as soon as my craft room is sorted. (I am slightly OCD about mess!!! so this really should be sooner than later!!) can't promise it will be a video though!! I also plan to catch up with all my friends this week.

My talented DT sisters have some amazing projects to share with you so do check them out and come and join in our fun challenge.

Thanks for visiting and listening to my rambles!!

Snow Folks Gift Bag

Good Morning Friends, today is a new challenge over at BBTB2 . Frosty the Snowman is the theme and we want you to make a project incorporating cricut cut snowmen. It was fun to papercraft some after making so many real ones lately!

The gift bag is cut at 4" from Artiste and embossed, inked and enamelled.
A little distressed washi tape for interest.

The snowflake and snow peeps were cut at 3" from Snow Folks.
I cut a few snowflakes and glued them together to make it sturdy enough for inking and adding twinklets to.

A bit more inking and doodling and some 3d foam for dimension.
I used Ranger black enamel accents for the eyes.

My fellow team mates have lots of fabulous snowmen projects to inspire you so do pop over to BBTB2 and check them out.
Do come and join in the fun with us.

Calming Potion

Hi, Happy Wednesday blog friends!

Hope you are having a great week.
Today I decided I needed to tidy my craft room!!
(I seemed to be stepping over papers  and clearing a tiny space to work any time I crafted!!).
And I hate mess!! Anyway done now and time to have a play.

When I ordered the Artiste cart I ordered these Halloween Potion stamps too.
I just love their captions.

All cuts are from Artiste, there is glossy accents on the wording and chandelier.

As always lots of inking and embossing.
Love the look of the black and white stampendous enamel. (Yes I am still totally addicted to it.)
The cobweb and spider are from Miss Emma's Treats For My Sweet at My Creative Time.
I have been playing, making tags from Emma's fabulous stamps and will take some photos and share.
I used green spider web and black raffia ribbon to wrap my calming potion......

Herbal tea!!! LOL.
