Quote of the Week

Madeline has been a little under the weather this week. On Monday she slept a lot of the day, but at the end of the day when I announced I was going to the store, Madeline immediately responded in her sad raspy voice that she wanted to come with. I let her come with. As soon as we got in the car, Madeline said to me,

"Mommy, we need to buy doritos to help me feel better. It is a miracle food."

What would you do if your 3-year-old said that to you? No, I didn't buy doritos for her, but I kind of wish I had. Am I mean or what? Thankfully, she was sick enough that she wasn't asking for anything once we got to the store. It was a nice change from our normal shopping trips.

On a funny note, after I finished cleaning today, I went into the den and found Madeline fast asleep like this:

I do believe this is the first time either of my children has fallen asleep standing up. I was quite impressed. Spending several hours at the park today clearly wore out my child recovering from sickness! Poor baby girl!

Mmm, Mmm, Good!

Guess what I ate for breakfast this morning? Ok, you'll never guess. I had the distinct privilege of eating a radioactive hard boiled egg. Sounds yummy, right? After eating it, I got to lay on a hard, plastic table and be completely still for 90 minutes while the technician watched the "nuclear" egg digest. Hopefully, the test will help the doctors know how to better treat my condition. We've been doing a lot of praying for the doctor to properly diagnose my issues.

Anybody ever eat anything that exciting before?

Good Times

I can't get over the perfect weather here. It was 78 degrees and sunny today. We had the brilliant idea (along with 10,000 of our closest friends) to hit the beach again today. We had fun:

AnnaLisa showing off how high she can jump

I think AnnaLisa won the jumping contest

I wrote my name in the sand. Am I cool or what?

Which one of these two family pictures do you like better?

We've been in SoCal for almost two months now. Time really flies! Now if all our friends (& family) would just move here too, then life would be perfect!

Update

I can't believe it's been two weeks since my last post. No doubt you've missed me, right? (o: Here's the latest happenings:

  1. I was out sick with strep all last week. Antibiotics are my friend!
  2. I spent the first half of this week trying to play catch up with the chores I neglected last week.
  3. My sister, AnnaLisa, is back in town for a job interview. I really hope she gets the job, so she can live close!
  4. Our church is from 1-4, which has been hard on Madeline who is very, very tired during those times. She has fallen asleep in Sacrament meeting almost every Sunday since the schedule change, then is too tired to go to nursery.
  5. Madeline is finally getting adjusted to living in Southern California. She still needs more friends though.
  6. Andrew has some neighbor friends that he wants to play with all the time (too often)
  7. We put another offer in on a house and are waiting for a response to our offer. Waiting is hard. (o:
  8. My doctor says I can go off blood thinners at the end of the month. Can we say alleluia?
  9. I'm on my last book of a 9 part series. I'm excited to do something else with my free time other than read. hahahaha!
  10. Andrew is getting better at reading and writing. He wrote us a Valentine Letter:
  11.
If you need any translation, let me know

    That's it for today.
PS In case you haven't noticed yet, I am really awful at keeping in contact with friends after I move away. My excuse comes from having moved so much growing up, but truly I have no good excuse.  I apologize to any of you I have neglected since moving! I am sorry!
