Serious Disappointment
Andrew has been thriving in first grade. I would even say he has been LOVING school. He comes home each day happy and talkative. I believe his dynamic teacher, Mrs. Davis, is responsible for Andrew loving school. Needless to say, when the principle wrote to inform us that they were hiring a new 1st grade teacher that would require moving some students around, I was fearful. I did NOT want Andrew leaving the class he was doing so well in. Andrew went to THREE kindergartens last year and the only thing we wanted for him this year was stability. So, on Friday we got the dreaded phone call that Andrew was moving into the new class. I was devastated, but took some consolation in the fact that a little boy from his class at church would be in the new class with him. We showed up this morning to discover the boy from church was NOT in Andrew's new class, nor ANY kid that Andrew knew. Andrew looked mortified and I cried. I can not tell you how disappointed I am with this change. I pray that he will make friends and learn to thrive in his new classroom. I'm worried. Andrew is naturally a very shy little boy. Please let everything be ok.

Pics of the Week
Here are some random pictures from the last couple weeks:
Have I mentioned lately how much I miss our friends? It was so great to see so many wonderful friends last weekend!
Did I also mention that there are 12 other LDS kids within 1 block of our new house including two 3-year-old girls and two 6-year old boys? Can I tell you how much I love that? We love our new neighborhood so much. It is such an incredible blessing to live here!

My two cuties
I don't know if you can tell how wet they are, but they managed to get 100% soaked after school with one spray bottle and a drinking fountain. I was pretty impressed with their skills at getting wet!
We love having a backyard and a slip n slide on hot days!
Andrew showing off his jumping skills at Nate's house. Thankfully, he doesn't jump down our stairs at home.
Madeline doesn't jump as high or far as Andrew. (thank goodness!)
Some of our favorite friends from the Bay area. Sarah & baby Ellie, Misty, Annie, Me, Tiffanie, Nancy, Desirae, and Sherri

Tom's a Blond?
I'm sure you will never see Tom as a blond again:
We had the opportunity to dress up and take silly photos at the wedding reception. What a fun idea! The bride and groom get to take home a book of all the silly photos. Did you do something fun like this at your reception?
Can you even tell it's us? Nathan and Jill are the Bride and Groom.

San Francisco Trip
We were so excited to have a good excuse to go visit all our friends in the Bay Area this weekend. We had such a wonderful time seeing the sights and catching up with our awesome friends. Now if we could just convince everyone to move down here and be our neighbors. (o:
My Babies at the Golden Gate Bridge. It's almost always foggy, cold, and windy in San Francisco. Somehow, we forgot that and were not prepared for the chilly air! Brrrr...
Walking across the Golden Gate Bridge
The amazing view of San Francisco and the Bay Bridge from Treasure Island
Some of our favorite friends ever: Anne, Wayne, Marisa, Me, and Tom
Andrew, James, Katie, Madeline, and Anne
Highlights of the trip:
- Reuniting with Old Friends
- Reuniting with Tom's former coworkers. (several of which said they'd love for Tom to come work for them, which made Tom very happy)
- Seeing my brother and Tom's Aunt and Uncle
- Flying home with Grandma King (my kids just love her so much!)
- Visiting Treasure Island
- Kids being worn out enough to sleep WELL in a small hotel room
- Getting an awesomely cheap hotel through priceline
- Sarah offering to take our kids over night (Sarah is the best, in case I haven't mentioned that before!)
Not so Happy part of our trip:
- Car was broken into while we were at the wedding. Thankfully, the thieves only took three things: Tom's blackberry, our GPS, and the wedding gift! I am so so happy that I had my purse and camera with me, because I would've been devastated about losing either of those things. The poor bride and groom though still don't have a gift from us. I'm sure they don't read my blog, but we are sending something soon...
I hope we continue to have the opportunity to visit the Bay area regularly. It's an odd feeling for a place to feel like home still, even after you've moved away.
Coming soon more pics from our trip. I'm sure you can hardly wait.

Best Quote of the Day
I love it when my kids say something that makes me smile. This is what Andrew said today:
Andrew whining because he really wanted something says to me, "But Mom I've only disobeyed you FOUR or FIVE times."
The best part in my mind is that he actually thought telling me that would help his plight.
Thanks for the laugh today Andrew!
