Knott's Berry Farm

We took advantage of a very odd Wednesday off school and headed to Knott's Berry Farm with our close friends. We had a blast!

Extra Special Visitor

We are feeling really blessed right now that we get to spend the week with our 1-year-old niece/cousin, Sarah Beth. She is a very sweet little girl. We are sad about the circumstances that brought her to our home, but are happy for the bonding time. We all adore her!

This picture is from right after we picked her up from her parents' home. She wasn't sure how she felt yet. She probably doesn't know what to think of my two crazy kids either!

Sarah Beth started to warm up really fast once she was at our house:

This is the first time ever Sarah Beth let Tom hold her. For whatever reason, she's always been pretty afraid of him. We are hoping she gets over that fear completely this week. Tom couldn't get enough snuggles from her!

The kiddos all ready for school:

Sarah Beth discovered she fits inside Madeline's doll house:

Andrew insisted on a "toll" hug from Sarah Beth as soon as he got home from school. He said she couldn't go the rest of the way up the stairs without giving him a hug first. HA!

Christina-we continue to pray for you and the baby, but are grateful for the privilege of spending time with your "big" baby girl this week!

Chapman 5k Race

I ran another race this weekend. It was a tough one after being sick with a cold all week. My only real goal was to finish without dying. I did not get a PR but I did manage to come in 3rd in my age group. I am pretty darn happy about that. Of course, it really means that everyone else was ridiculously slow, but that's beside the point.

My awesome friend Denise is the one that convinced me to sign up for this one. She's a good influence like that.

Tom wanted to pace me for this race, but he took off instead. Thanks a lot babe! HA! He keeps trying to tell me that I'll be faster than him soon. I sincerely doubt that. I really only like running when I'm DONE!
I was at least as tired as I look.
When will I race again? Will I ever attempt a 10k? We'll have to wait and see. I'll be taking it one day at a time.
