Furry Friends Friday

Thanks to Laurie for hosting "Furry Friends Friday" If you'd like to join in just provide Lauries link and she'll link with you. We love to see your Friends!!

This is "Griz" he's not mine but I feel like he is. He is the protector of my little Grand baby here. This was a few years ago but he loved this car! he would chase Lexi all over the yard as she was just learning to drive. Good thing my son has a big yard cause the concept of turning just wasn't working out. Griz this big gentle giant would go all day trying to "catch" these tires. As soon as the jeep started off he went barking like crazy and biting the tires. Good thing they were had plastic or he would have caught them for sure. This sweet boy is about 7 years old now and he has a bad leg but he defiantly still gets around. Anyone who comes in contact with him soon learns to love him. He lets little kids crawl all over him and never gets angry. He's our big bubba and he guards our business, good thing people don't know what a sweety he is or they would not be intimidated at all. And of course you probably already know he is a "Rottweiler".

Oh The Ease Of Jello

This is a jello concoction that my Grandmother gave me and it has been a hit for young and old every Christmas. But I'm making it for Thanksgiving tomorrow. You will love how easy it is.
One large package of Strawberry Banana jello
One large carton of sour cream
One large carton of frozen strawberries
Two large Banana's
One large bag of miniture marshmellows
Make up your jello in a big bowl, completely mash two bananas (with potaoe masher)put in bowl of jello, put unfrozen strawberries in, stir and pour into 13 x 9in pan and refrigerate. Pour miniture marshmellows in a big bowl with the carton of sour cream. This is your "frosting" stir and keep stiring all day. I just leave it on the counter with a dish towel covering it and keep stirring everytime I walk in the kitchen. It will completely melt over time. Then pour over jello once its set up and your done! P.S. Don't tell the kids it's sour cream, it turns out very sweet and wonderful.

After about 3 hours

After 4 hours Trust me its the lighting its not yellow, its pure white and yummy. Enjoy!

Furry Friends Friday

This is "Baby" he will be two in December. He has awakened our home like you would not believe, he runs all over the house at break neck speed chasing after his balls and toy stuffed animal. He is a willful little boy at times and won't listen to Mom but that's ok because he has given us nothing but joy. He loves to be held so he can stare up into your face and just lovingly adores us. He is a pure bread miniature poodle with attitude. He is so curious about everything he has to be right by me when I garden to see what I will pull up out of the ground and he's waiting for it to do something like this rose. He had to go up and nudge it with his nose to see if it's ok to play with it. He nudges everything! When he wants something he comes up behind you and will nudge at your leg for attention. (which he always gets) He rings his special bell on the door when he wants to go potty. He is very smart and picks up on a new trick to do real fast. He is alot of joy!
Thanks for starting this Laurie

Can You Stand To See More????

Well they got the laminate on the counter tops today so it looks more complete each day. And yes I said "Laminate" because it's cheap and it's come along way from the old days. We saved lots there!

Here's the main bath, I had to go out yesterday to buy my sinks that day!! Whats wrong with men? Tell me a month ahead of time so if I have to order (which you always have to around here) I can get them in on time and choose the ones I want? So I went up to the house and all the men were hustling and bustling and they tell me o.k. go get your sinks were ready to put them in. "Geesh you guys is there a brain cell in your head?" So I speed down to the local high dollar store (because everybody else just have white sinks" I tell this great girl the predicament I'm in with these men and she gives me this knowing look and rolls her eyes. I told her I wanted brown or linen colored sinks, so she shows me the perfect one. I'll take it I says, then I asked her if I buy 4 sinks and facets from you right now off the show room floor will you give me a deal? She said "Absolutely" I'm thinking I like this gal right from the get go, so I find a "linen" colored sink for the master and I told her that will work. She said I only have one its discontinued, so I said o.k. put it in the hallway bath and what else do you have for master with two sinks? She said all i have is white. I wanted to cry! I told her my sad story of living in an all white house, my sinks are white, my counters are white, my floors were white, my walls are white, so you see honey I'm living in a white nightmare!!! I think I got my point across so she said "this sink here may come in Linen" so she called the warehouse and they had two in stock! Now were talking, thanks hon. A special note to you guys out there " DON'T EVER DO THIS TO YOUR WOMEN OR YOU JUST MIGHT GET THROWN OFF A 30 FT. BALCONY she ended up giving me a great deal. My husband shows up with the truck and she grabs the sink boxes two at a time! (there heavy as hell) my husband and I are walking in front of her and I told my husband "Honey this gall is going to beat us to the truck so start walking faster" she started laughing and said "my girls are always yelling at me to slow down in stores because I have such long legs they can't keep up" She was probably 6ft. 5in and big boned and boy did she have the strength. Real sweet gal, thanks kiddo.

Cabinets are almost done and the counter tops guys still have the edges to do. They were a bunch of old hippies doing the counter tops, they looked like ZZ Top the singing group. Real down to earth people which is my favorite type of peeps. They were real funny too and kept telling me "you know mam if we did tile back splash we would be out of here in one day but because your using laminate and we have to roll it and blah blah blah it's going to take alot longer to get this done" I told them "tell your boss you could be on another job if I buy tile and I will save him labor cost so he has to give me a good deal" they said "oh hell yeah we'll tell him that no problem" so went to go buy tile and told him to write me a bid for both and lets see what is cheaper? He'll call me tomorrow and he was real happy that I changed my mind. Now we will see how happy he'll make me tomorrow :)

Here is my beautiful stove sitting in the middle of the work area and it had no cover on it, so I put this beautiful :) ugly bedspread on it that I found. Then I decided to make sure all the doors were locked and found the garage side door unlocked! Well now that's convenient, we really have to lock up tight now because peeps will even rip out cabinets and steal them. The guys working outside on the stucco are quite the characters. They won't even say hello when I say it first to them. You get blank stares and they ignore you and give ya dirty looks sometimes. I'm like geesh even if ya can't speak English everybody knows what "hello" means? Well they just don't know what there missing, because I'm a great gal to get to know, I even said "hello" in there language and got nothing? Dang life's to short guys to be that way.

All lights are hanging up high until everybody is done inside.

Counter tops look way cool let me tell ya. And when I picked out the tile I found one that matches so well I amazed myself. The cabinet man said "its so nice to see someone put in dark cabinets for a change, I do the same stuff over and over" I told him wait until you see the handles I picked out, cabinets are cabinets until you put the jewelery on. He said "and that's right too" I like this guy.

Hard to tell my little bay window with all the junk. I can't wait until its furnished so I can show you my decorating skills! (oh that's gonna be scary).

A note to my friend "it's to hard to show my little nook by the entry door but alas no outlet on this side" Whaaaaa!

Cabinets are In!!!

Cabinets just started yesterday and he's going to town on them, they should all be done by Monday! This cabinet will have glass door's to show off my special plate collection.

Pantry and open shelves, lots of white dust on them right now. Monday the counter tops will be in.

Sink cabinets on right will be dishwasher. Extended down will be a built in desk with furniture legs.

I wish you could see my fans in person they have cut crystal lights but don't show up right now at night time. Dirty to so I will joyfully clean them soon.
Play room light (A.K.A. craft room)
Master bath, we still have two tall cabinets on either side on top of counter to go in. With little drawers to put my hair stuff and pretties.

Island not near done yet he still has side corner units to go in.

See what I told you about this paint color? In behind my husband it looks green but the wall in the foreground looks lighter cream? I love it! It's brown isn't it the coolest. My house is a camilion. (or however you spell that?)

Desk goes under microwave here.

The little cottage we built in the back yard

My sista and I went to our local big event for Christmas and I did not buy one thing for the event. I fell in love with this lady's gourds! She was so sweet and talented to say the least, she grows her own gourds and dries them then paints them.

I will show you more on this tomorrow, I went to a local Christmas show and bought a couple of things. Right now I'm beat and have to be up early to go to Walla Walla Wa. for Veterans Day, a family I grew up with and lived with for a time wants me to go for their brother. I remember him like it was yesterday. Gone now with his whole company from the "Vietnam war." Blessings to you and yours, Pearl
Ahh yeah up above....blogger....

Doors are in and up and now have locks on and the garage doors are on so now we can have some heat! Cabinets were to be in today but hopefully tomorrow, so it's coming along.
