How's The Rose's Coming Along?

Well not to bad after a few tries but I need more practice that's for sure. This is a dryer sheet that I did and I tea stained some others after seeing this wonderful tutorial by: http://katiesrosecottage.blogspot.com/ (It's the 3rd post down) ya gotta check out her wonderful site and how her rose's are. Just gorgeous! If I could just sit her down next to me and I could watch her then I'd have it down pat. Once I'm "shown" something I can do it no problem. Yeah you guessed it I was a terrible student. But it's life's lessons that taught me all I needed to know :)

This is a "used" tea bag just opened up and spilling the contents out and waiting for it to dry. I cut mine in half length ways and you just start rolling. Here is the tutorial http://treasuresfromtheheartgifts.blogspot.com/ And here is a wonderful tutorial for fabric roses. http://bridgetbaxter.blogspot.com/

I started doing material after seeing this last tutorial and I can work with this much better. I just don't do the small stuff to well my fingers just aren't nibble enough. But this is fun trying to learn this.
Didn't do much more for the Baby board but added my dried roses, and some fake flowers. I like it simple. So show me some tutorials will ya?

Babies....

This is still a project in progress but I thought I would show it. I really like making these boards there so quick and easy and I'm a instant gratification kinda gal. I'm learning how to make little roses out of used tea bags and some out of lace. I must admit I'm not very good at it right now but I have been practicing for about 30 mins now and some progress is being made. I'll let ya know how that turns out later.

Spring Bling!!

I just finished this old container just adding some old lace a millinery flower a new leaf and old lace.

Love this look that I see all over the Internet but I can't sew a lick, but I'm Bad To The Bone with a glue bottle (;

I spotted this old fifties lamp and had to have it! It goes perfectly with my living room.

I love the detail on the picture, it's not hand painted but baked on and I don't care :)

More Orchids blooming through the house, I have about 10 now and just love them. They really are easy to take care of.

Just a few pics of flowers, boy do I have Spring Fever.

Here's Mr. Bumble Bee working away on my Salvia.

LETS PLANT!

Today was glorious! 71 degrees and very little wind, so the planting begins. Deep dark red ivy geranium and lavender zonal geraniums.

A touch of yellow here

The boys (dogs) got to come out and spend the day with me planting and they loved every glorious minute of it. My 16 year old has always loved to garden with me, sniffing my flowers and wagging his tail following me all over. Baby my 2 year old has learned to love it too, I pull a weed out and toss it in the air and he pounces on it and rips it to shreds (now if only I could teach him to pull weeds!) As I worked they kept bringing the ball to me to throw and they rolled and rolled in the grass. Pure doggie heaven let me tell ya.

I have had this old piece of drift wood since I was 16 years old, it houses my chicks & hens.

Tomorrow I plant my Hawaiian beauty.

Lots of plants to go and get me started.

I love this Spanish lavender (left) and I can't remember this ones name?

I have great plans for my rock wall, a tipped planter with loads of flowers spilling out, some plants to hide the air conditioner.

A new house being built right next to our neighbors, it's fun to watch the homes going up. I guess once a builder always a builder. I'll get pictures of the house our family is building across the street from us tomorrow.

We have lots to do around here this summer the basement as you can see is unfinished.

My Christmas Cactus love it down here in the window because its nice and cool and they have great windows under the balcony that won't boil them to death.

Can you say Christmas and this is not even half of it, I still have some down at the storage's?! Yikes I must love Christmas....I do I do!

And to end the day Coffee Espresso Ice cream with chocolate chips!! Yum.....
P.S. Don't forget about my give away below

A Give Away For My Blogging Buddies

I'm so excited to have my 1st "real" giveaway. Well I may not be able to do the shop right now, but I can share with my blogging buddies!!!!

This dresser table runner is 35 inches long and 14 inches wide with 3 tones of pink and the center is antique white with a light tone of brown.

I have a small assortment of unique buttons, a cute dressed up clothes pin. Two small dollies one is all white and the other is antique white, orange, green, yellow, and purple. Very colorful and about 7 inches round.

A hanging board of a "Victorian Lady", a clothes pin with some blue mesh type material great for crafting.

A stick pin about 4" inches wide with a cloth background pretty country blue trim with little rose's and it's puffy! Don't you like my descriptions?
A very sweet little flower pitcher, it's heavy made out of a type of lime stone with hand painted flowers, it measures 4in tall and 4/12 wide.

What I'm going to do for this first give away is to have the followers that I have right now, be the only ones that can participate. That sounds kinda rude but it is a way for me to thank my immediate family of bloggers who have helped me dearly through some rough patches. I love blogging because people are so kind to each other. It might just be a kind word or advice but that's what we do here in blog land. We all nurture each others talents along. Just leave a comment and that's all you have to do! I WILL ANNOUNCE THE WINNER ~ APRIL 27, 2010

Tags And Other Treasures

Here is a better picture of the coin tag I made. I'm going to put Lavender in it as Diane Knotts has done. Her tags are so lovely as is all she makes, check her out.

A tag made of Tissue Paper
What can I say, more bobbles anyone? I just cannot get enough of these I found the silver one in a shop for $7 dollars. I'm not sure you can see them all but there are many things on here.
A suitcase for special treasures (Michaels)

I ironed Great Grandma Dunningtons few pillow cases and linens
A picture of my oldest sister who passed away when she was only 39. Isn't she the cutest with her missing teeth and curly hair.

A new life for "Mr. Turtle" he sat in the sun for a few years and became very faded, so I put on some green on his lower body and then highlighted with copper.

"Ms. Fi Fi Bouju" with her fancy hat.

Gorgeous skies

Fluffy clouds and rain.

Farmer Brown across the street planting away, it's so pretty once all the green comes in and I'm not talking "Sage Brush"!
