Snowboarding Birthday card - Say what now!

I was asked to make a Birthday card for a skier/snowboarder. This had me thinking for a while as to how to go about it and make a card not so Christmassy with a skier/snowboarder on it!

I did a Google search for an image and first started with Honey from All That Scraps, well I printed her too small when it came to putting her on the card, so I gave up with her and Google'd again, and Toby from The Greetings Farm came up. So off I toddled to TGF Central, bought him and downloaded him.

He looks not so very masculine in his purples, and hopefully will pass as a lady snowboarder lol

I've used Basic Grey Papers - Eskimo Kisses. Flowers from WOC, Sentiment stamp from Whimsy as is the die used to cut out the tickets.

I'm entering this card into two challenges

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment and I will strive to come visit you back!

Retro... Funky... Groovy!..

OooooooooTime for a card me thinks!

Over at the Kenny K's Krafy Girlz Challenge this week, the theme is LETS go RETRO!

I've not played along in many of the Kenny K's challenges, and have to admit its a shame cos all of the images are awesome. I have a fair few tucked away in a file on my pc, coloured a few, made cards with them but never blogged them as they've been tucked in envelopes and sent on their merry ways!

Well no more... I'm addicted to these girlz and boyz and you can guarantee that there is an image for what ever occasion you can be thinking of.

I've used 'All That' for this challenge, and I gave her some RETRO trousers.
I was tired of doing full colours so played around with the black copic and a the copic fine liner and hey preseto - she's got herself some funky ZEBRA pants!
I've used Basic Grey papers from the Lime Ricky pack which are just gorgeous!
Coloured the image with Copics and added some Spica Orange to her trainers to give a little sparkle.
The edge punch is MS and the sentiment is computer generated.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

********
I'm also entering this card into the DT call being held over on Donna's Blog who set up the challenge blog and helped Kenny get these awesome images to us!
Fingers crossed!

You can find Kenny K images here and you can find out all about the DT call here!

One Card THREE Challenges!

My mojo has up and gone recently and I've been blogging this morning and while sat at my desk I saw some new stash I bought for my birthday and a wee package I was given a little while ago and they were all screaming for me to play.

I'm entering this card into three challenges
Anyone For Anya ~ Fabulous Flowers
Basic Grey ~ Colour Combo (Brown, Cream and Turquoise)
Stamp With Fun ~ A Sketch

Its my first time playing with Basic Grey and also Anyone for Anya so I'm hoping they like my card.

Papers are Basic Grey Cappella which fits nicely with the Brown and Cream them and the dress and flowers on Miss Fleur here are bluey turqoise (Its as near as I could get with the old DI's).
The Rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Prima flowers are a mix of my own stash and those which I was given in a very nice package from a lovely lady recently (which also included the papers and the pearl brads).

I've added some Glitter to her flowers and also some Rock Candy by Ranger to the rose, but it doesnt show very well.

Just before I go - What do you think of my daughter??
Taken at the weekend at the local beer and food festival

Too cute for words, right?...
Thanks for looking

The Sugar Bowl - Marlene's Sketch

Its been such a long time since I entered The Sugar Bowl challenge, I thought it was about time I inked up some Sugar Rubbah and got to work!

I've followed Marlene's Sketch and it was such fun to do.

I've used a few Gorjuss Girls and coloured them with the same shades of copics.

I've used Ribbon and Gems from  my stash

Papers are from Basic Grey - Lemonade and the dark purple on the inside is from Papermania.

I've inked around most of the papers with ColourBox Fluid Chalk pads to give a little colour to the distressed bits.

To be in it to win it at The Sugar Bowl you just have to follow the sketch using a Sugar Nellie Stamp.
The theme this fortnight is Recycling!

My recycled bits are the base the card is made from which was a brown paper bag which I've trimmed and glued to size, just behind the side with the Up, Up and Away Gorjuss Girl, you can open the bag and add gift cards/money or anything slim line enough to fit.

The other recycled objects I've used is the heart on the front. Its cut out from an Appletiser can box, and I've added Glossy Accents, but instead of letting it dry smooth, I use the heat gun to make it bubble and give it a rough texture. And the large brown circle behind the first gorjuss girl on the front - again cut out from the appletiser box.

Thank you for popping by.
I wish you all a fantastic weekend!

I'm back and have some exciting news!

Good morning fellow crafters! Please forgive me as its a long one! - Grab a coffee and a few biccies!

As you know I've been away for a couple of weeks trying to get my head together. Having a break from card making has really helped to see things in a better light as I wasn't stressing over dead lines and which stamp to pick next!

I'm back to some degree, I admit my Mojo is still wandering around some place other than sitting with me when I make cards. I'm happy with them, don't get me wrong, I just have very little inspiration at the moment despite all the stamps, papers and embellishments I have.

So - that exciting news I have for you - well - just before I went to the dark side, Tracey AKA Booyagirl asked me if I'd like to be on her Design Team at the start of February. There was no name for the stamps/store and Tracey only had a handful to send me. Well I said yes before I'd even seen an image and I'm so pleased I did. They are brilliant. Since the first few I was sent, there have been more added to the Etsy Store since!

These Digi Stamps are - Spesch Stamps and can be found here! And you can buy them from the Etsy Store.

I've made a couple of cards - I think the lovely Willow has already been showcased on the Spesch Stamps blog, but you might notice a little change - I've coloured her leggings in a little more to make them more 'orangey'.

Papers by Basic Grey, Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, coloured with Copics.
***Bree
Coloured with Copics, Papers - Basic Grey, Stickles for the sand.
***
Cupcake Girl
Papers are again Basic Grey, coloured with Copics, circle and scalloped circle nesties.

Well those are the cards I have to show so far. I loved colouring them, the possibilities are endless, and once I get my Mojo back - there'l be no stopping me!

Tracey is having a DT call for the Spesch Stamps too!
This call out ends March 31st, and is open to everyone!

Please check out the full details here, and email Tracey using - booyagirl@optusnet.com.au

Thank you for paying a visit. I know it was a long one! I hope you didn't drop off to sleep!
Hopefully be back soon with some more cards!

A Sketch for you - DT card Stampin' for the Weekend

Good Morning, its a Friday, and its the 3rd Friday of the month which means:

Another challenge over at Stampin' for the Weekend!

This week the lovely Fiona has created this fabulous sketch for us to follow

She is also providing the prize for this challenge which are these two gorgeous stamps from Funky Kits.
They are Sugar Nellies - Part of the Home Grown collection!

Wish I could play along this week!
***
Here is my take on the sketch for this challenge

I have used some gorgeous papers I received in a Secret Santa pressie called Lemonade which is by Basic Grey. I have used copics and coloured in my Tildas (Tilda Picking Peaches and the other one of which I'm not sure which collection she belonged to) and added some lace, ribbon, charms and flowers from my stash.
The sentiment is also a Magnolia Stamp.

I have popped this little cutie on the inside too so the inside isn't bare and boring! She sits on a strip of paper which goes along the inside length of the card, just below where you'd write your message

We also have a Guest Designer this week - Sharon kindly agreed to stay on until the end of January - Thanks Sharon!! Check our her beautiful creations here!
Thank you for popping by, I hope you will visit the Design Teams blogs and see what they have come up with this week. I'm sure you will find lots of inspiration to take part in the challenge this fortnight!
