Sugar Bowl meets Dutch Dare

Ok - I'm loving the Simply Sassy Gals from Sugar Nellie. I've read somewhere that there is going to be a blog hop soon (December 4th), to showcase set three and I'm so excited!

I've used 'Little Light of Mine' and she can be found here at Funky Kits.

I'm entering this cutie into the Sugar Bowl Challenge which is another fabulous sketch and the theme of Snowflakes and the Dutch Dare Card Challenge which is Christmas Tag/Card/Ornament! - I've gone for a non traditional card.

I've kept her simple as I really want to enter the WOW competition again over on the Sugar Nellie blog - I hope I can enter twice, if not please discount this entry!!

Coloured using Distress Inks, Linen and Hammered textured white card stock, simple sky blue card stock for layering.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts
Snowflakes are an assortment of punches I had lying around in my drawer.

and a close up ...

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of blog land.
Please leave a comment so I can come visit you!

Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy Round 1

Karen over at Sugar Central is holding a fabulous competition, with an unbelievable prize.
I was in my dashboard earlier on and found it, and thought - yeah, I'l have a go. Haven't got a cats chance in hell of winning, but I've entered anyways!

Karen is offering one lucky person the chance to win a Spellbinder Grand Calibre! How cool is that!
All you have to do to be within a chance of winning, is get your Simply Sassy Stamps that you've bought recently from Funky Kits, ink em up, colour em, and make a WOW card, that's White on White if you didn't already know hehe!
Karen wants the cards simple to show off colouring and shading skills, and to make the Simply Sassy Gals the main feature!

Well - here is my attempt - and Karen, don't shoot me ok, I know I've cheated by adding some Lace Raffia, but I have a really, really, really good excuse! I followed one of my favourite sketches from one of the Sugar Bowl Challenges which was held in July LAST year, can you believe!

I've used plain white card for layering, and the sparkly glittered paper was from my scrap box.
Pearls were a gift from Elaine, lace raffia from Bunny Zoe Crafts.
Coloured using Distress Inks...
Swarovski Crystal gems for the centres of the flowers and a pink gem for her sock.

Here is a close up of this cutie!

Not only is Karen offering the chance to win the Spellbinder Grand Calibre, the lucky winner will also be offered a place on the Simply Sassy DT! How lush would that be! There will also be other spots available as Karen is wanting to expand the team, and why not - these gals need to be out there mingling!

I may need your votes in the near future if I get picked to go through to Round 2!

Wish me luck xx
(p.s. - dont forget my free stamp draw which I will be picking a winner tomorrow night, scroll down to my LOTV card and enter)

Fab n Funky meets Totally Gorjuss Challenge

Today I've made a card shock horror!
I'm entering it into Fab 'n' Funky (anything goes) and Totally Gorjuss (must have a tree on your card - well I'm hoping that the tree paper which is the strip under the Pink raffia lace counts!)

I've used one of the new Christmas Release Lily of the Valley stamps called Wrapped in Tinsel and can be found here.

Papers are My Minds Eye and are from the Winter Wonderland collection.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts (except the large blue one which is from Ladybug and Friends).
The gorgeous Pink Raffia Lace and theWhimsy Ticket Stamp were from Bunny Zoe Crafts (I also bought the die for the Whimsy Ticket Stamp from here too, they showed up today and I had to have a play!!!)
Candy Cane and white/pink ribbon from stash.

That's my card in a nut shell. Thanks for stopping by.
I'm going to be hit and miss for the next two weeks as I'm on annual leave and my parents are down for a week, then I go back to my home town for a few days! So if I dont visit you between now and then, you know why!

Oooo just as a thank you for those who pop by - put your name down on the blue frog and random.org will pick a winner to win this stamp!

I will pick a winner on Friday night, and post it on Saturday so the lucky winner can play before Christmas is over!

Simply Sassy says it all!...

...this gal is definitely simply gorgeous!

Her name is Bella Bunting and I love her lots!
I really do!
You can find her, and the rest here of the Simply Sassy girls here.

I'm joining in again with the Sugar Bowl Challenge, just because I can! I've followed the sketch, but not the colour choice - which is Black, White and one other colour. Its an optional, so I opted out!
I've used Distress Inks to colour her in (I'm just getting the hang of them now. I go through phases where I can use them and not use them) my brain switching from copics to inks goes into melt down.
I've used papers by Best Creations Inc from the Once Upon a Time collection. Glittered on one side and plain on the other. Two pink butterflies using the MS punch and some Card Candy.

Thanks for popping by...

Friday Sketchers meets SWALK

First of all, I need to say a huge THANK YOU to Elaine over at 'a Technophobes Blog' for holding a candy in honour of her son Hal as I won it and I was over the moon! I was jumping up and down on my seat (which is not good, as I'm not the smallest of people!) and looking like a right loon! Big THANK YOU to Hal too, for picking me out of the many people who won.

I've been meaning to play with the stamps, papers and goodies I won for a while now but just have not had the time. Tonight however I made time.

And here we are...
I have used my Distress Inks on this cutie which is called - S.W.A.L.K -Thinking of you! by Crafters Companion.
Bundled Sage, Stormy Sky, Wild Honey, Tea Dye, and Spun Sugar - simple huh?
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, including the leaves and the pearl spray. The pins I had in my stash.
Papers were also in the candy I won and they are by Memory Box and are called 'Frond' and are absolutely gorgeous!
I've added some ribbon and three green gems from stash.

I am entering this into the Friday Sketchers challenge which was quick and easy to do!

Catch you all soon, I'm off to bed from some much needed shut eye!

Ladybug Design Team - Christmas In July!

Hello - Gosh I thought I'd scheduled this post to go 'live' at 9am like the one over on the Ladybug and Friends Design Team's Be Creative blog and it didn't happen - So please forgive me!

Job Update - Had my first day today - had a security talk/key talk which was very interesting. Got to know some of the team (knew some already). Have another day tomorrow which I will be shaddowing someone which will be fun. Thanks for the emails etc asking how my first day went - it went rather well.

Today over at Ladybug and Friends we are having a Christmas in July special...

You might be asking why I'm posting about Ladybug and Friends and that would be because I have been asked to me on the team - I'm so excited to be working on a team with exceptional talented crafters!

Check out the Be Creative Blog to find who they are and what the other team members have come up with!

I've created this card and pillow box as a 'gift set' which I will put to good use as the time draws nearer.

The card

Pillow Box

I've used the following for my project
Colour Medium: Distress ReInkers

Thank you for stopping by my lil ole blog - have a look at the Be Creative blog to find out what some of my team mates have come up with and visit their blogs to see how they created them, I'm sure they'd love to know you've been and they can visit you in return.

One Card THREE Challenges!

My mojo has up and gone recently and I've been blogging this morning and while sat at my desk I saw some new stash I bought for my birthday and a wee package I was given a little while ago and they were all screaming for me to play.

I'm entering this card into three challenges
Anyone For Anya ~ Fabulous Flowers
Basic Grey ~ Colour Combo (Brown, Cream and Turquoise)
Stamp With Fun ~ A Sketch

Its my first time playing with Basic Grey and also Anyone for Anya so I'm hoping they like my card.

Papers are Basic Grey Cappella which fits nicely with the Brown and Cream them and the dress and flowers on Miss Fleur here are bluey turqoise (Its as near as I could get with the old DI's).
The Rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Prima flowers are a mix of my own stash and those which I was given in a very nice package from a lovely lady recently (which also included the papers and the pearl brads).

I've added some Glitter to her flowers and also some Rock Candy by Ranger to the rose, but it doesnt show very well.

Just before I go - What do you think of my daughter??
Taken at the weekend at the local beer and food festival

Too cute for words, right?...
Thanks for looking

Sir Stampalot Challenge and a quick update

Before I show you my card I'l get the update out of the way now...

I'm having an operation (Cholecystectomy - simple terms - Gall Bladder removal) on Thursday due to the Chemotherapy I had last year and I've been trying to get ahead of things, but with having visited my parents and then having them come to me for a week, its kinda gone out the window haha. So I'm WAY WAY behind on my DT work for Spesch Designer Stamps, Di's Digital Downloads and Bearly Mine Designs. Oh my!

I have loads of catching up to do, especially as I only have two and a bit weeks to recover from my operation before I start a new job. I handed my notice in at work due to me being unable to cope with being around Cancer Patients who are dying or who have been just diagnosed as it was just too close to home.
There was also an incident on the ward which flipped a switch in my head and I just couldnt work there anymore so I applied for a job thinking the application would be good practice and then they offered me an interview - I was so shocked. I went along for experience not really thinking they'd offer me the job but they did. So as of July 12th I will be a Prison Nurse. I'm so looking forward to it!

Its been a busy June so far, but I'm looking forward to watching Wimbledon after Thursday - Catching as much as possible now while working my last days at work and then being off for two weeks recouping I will be able to enjoy the matches and then the final. Whoot Whoot. Not to mention crafty time if I can bare to sit for long enough.

Ok - My card. Its a fairly simple one but its so suitable for Sir Stampalot Challenge which this month is

Punch It Out!!

I've used a Lili of the Valley stamp Baby Blanket from the new release and I just love her/him! So versatile.
I've punched out 'Abigail' with my new Rainbow Alpha Set from Quickuts, mid line border is MS Heart Lace Border punch and the circle and scallopped circles are my Nestie shapes.

Image coloured with Distress Ink, and I've kept it so simple, just because its a baby card and less fuss sometimes looks beautiful in itself.

Thank you for looking!

Another card - Just for fun!

Its for my Dad from my daughter Poppy. As I'm a North East girl, South Shields to be exact, 'Granda' is the version of 'Grand Dad' we sometimes use. Its what I've been teaching Poppy to use for my Dad.

I've used a sheet of the new Papermania Hampstead papers and cut it down a little. Ribbon from stash and the 'Granda' is from my new Alphabet Die from Quickutz which I put through the Cuttlebug. I fell in love with this alphabet set when I saw it on Rach's site a week or two ago here, but no where had it in stock so I've been patiently waiting for it to arrive.

I coloured this new Lili of the Valley image with Distress ReInkers
A simple card for a not too fussy man - I think it works :)

A Thank You card for a Lovely Lady!

I've made a Thank You card for a lovely friend! Donna from Bearly Mine Designs has more or less mentored me back into crafting since the whole diagnosis of Cancer and occasionally we send each other little goodies through the post. She also gave me my first Design Team title for the Bearly Mine Designs Papers.

So - just as a little thank you, I made this card and a box to go with it with some goodies in and sent it to her on Tuesday - Well she has them now so I thought I would share it with you all.

Thank you for everything Donna - You are a star!
Hugs

Last Magnolia Down Under Guest Design Card & some challenges!

Oooo eck - I am so sorry I was watching the Eurovision Song Contest and I forgot to schedule a post. Nevermind... I'm here now, and big Congrats to Germany. I had my bet on them with the other half, he thought it was going to be Denmark and it was close there for a while...

Well its my last week guest designing for Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week the theme is FLOWERS!
I've not gone MAD with flowers, just added some larger ones than I normally would and I have to say a big thanks to Donna for them, and the lace. She kindly sent me some at Easter and I've only just got round to using them - Thanks hun!
I've used Papermania's Rose Garden papers, and Core'dinations card stock for layering.
I coloured Tilda with Distress Inks and layered her dress. Not sure if the photos show you that.
I added some Glossy accent to her head band on the flowers to give them a little shimmer. I also glamour dusted her petticoat and the trim around her neck and sleeves.

Thanks so much for supporting my guest design time with Magnolia Down Under.. A HUGE thank you to Kellie for inviting me, and another thank you to the MDU Girls - You are an inspiration to us all who love our Maggies! Make sure you pop over to see what the team have created this week!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew: Pink and Green
Stampin' for the Weekend: Post Pals - Amelia Grace C
I would have been playing along with this challenge anyway, but having stepped down as owner and given the blog to Sandie and Jan who are doing a marvellous job I thought I'd better show my support. You have until this coming Friday to create a card for a child on the Post Pals site - a card or letter from yourselves would mean a lot to them.
Send a card to a child - Make them smile!

La-La Land Crafts - Happy Maya

Its been a while since I inked up a La-La Land Crafts stamp - and I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed colouring in Happy Maya - If you've not heard of Lala Land Crafts - click here to visit the challenge blog and here to visit the store!

I was a guest designer for La-La Land Crafts a while back and I am feeling so guilty for not inking up these beauties since leaving there. The team has changed over time, but the cards just keep getting better and better, as do all the stamp designs!

Here is my card - The theme this week is 'Birthdays!'
I have coloured Happy Maya in distress inks and then used the Circle Nesties and Scalloped Circle Nesties to layer her on.
Simple black and white card to match her spots and some white organza ribbon with a black ribbon with white stitch to run on top.
The sentiment is computer generated and printed straight onto the card base.

Thank you for visiting me and Maya today!

Mojo Monday + Cards for Men

I've made my second of my three Fathers Day cards.
The bear is from Lili of the Valley and is one of the new stamps in the Busy Bear release
He is called 'Just One More' and can be found here!
Using my new papers by Dovecraft/Trimcraft I've layered this card in line with Mojo Monday's Sketch this week.
I'm also entering this card into Cards for Men - Its my first time entering over there and this week the theme is 'Outdoors'. Well as BBQ's are generally cooked outdoors, I think this card fits the challenge.

I coloured my bear with Distress Inks, added grass with copics.
Sentiment is computer generated.
Ribbon was off a top I bought at the weekend and the button from my stash.

Thanks for popping by

I've created this early as I probably wont get a chance between now and June 20th as I will be away on holiday on the 6th June and I have lots to do between now and then with getting back to work sorted & pre assessments for my operation on June 24th. So...

I've made a Fathers Day card.

Coloured with Distress Inks, Copics for the grass.
The Lili of the Valley stamp is NEW as are the papers.
The Sausage image I drew myself.

Just Magnolia - It takes two!

As I've not entered in a while, I thought I'd better do a card this week for Just Magnolia
Its the Monthly Special and they are asking us to use more than one Magnolia Stamp - excluding any sentiments so I've used more than one Magnolia Stamp!
Four in fact (using one three times).

No Papers, No Embellishments, No Gems, No Ribbon (panic attack!)
Just
300gsm Watercolour Card
Distress ReInkers
Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad
Water Brush
Glue and Glamour Dust

I masked Tilda first then Edwin, I then put the Surfboard down, then Masked the tip of that and stamped the fence three times.
If Tilda was not there you'd see a gap in the fence where they gain access to the beach hehe!

Thanks for popping by and leaving any comments you do. I'm curious as to what people think of this.
