Christmas Time! (Part 2)

Megan and Adam and their girls got to come over one night, luckily it was on the night of my family's party

The annual Hopkins Christmas party
Playing "Merry Chirstmas" (bingo) and opening the prizes
after the party we hung out and talked late into the night
On Christmas Eve we went to the Wison's for the program Greg puts on. It was a great program as always! We were nervous to go over there because of the weather but we made it and were glad we did! Our little Jones family started out the program by singing the Nativity Song. Braden knew all the words, it was the Christmas song we really focused on this year.
When we got home we opened our pajamas then popped open the the poppers and put on our crowns
Christmas morning...
(he is just so cute!)
the 4 wheeler Poppy got for the grand kids-BIG hit
Girls Night Out
Mom treated us to dinner at Bravo, then we did some shopping
New Years Eve was full of games, treats, and sparkling grape juice...just the way I like it. We had such a fun night! This is the only picture of the night tho...

It's Christmas Time!

This Christmas season we started off going to see Santa and doing some fun workshops. Braden put together reindeer food, a count down chain, and made an ornament out of a cd that had his hand print on it. Both boys did really well!

Next was the ward Christmas party. We had a yummy ham dinner, and had fun socialiazing with friends. Braden and Carter had fun rolling on the floor.

After the HUGE snow storm that hit us, Ross and Braden ventured outside to go sledding and play in the snow. It didn't last too long, the wind was blowing and they wre back inside after only 5-10 mins. But we did go back out on a sunny day and had lots of fun!

While Christmas shopping in the Independence mall, Braden suckered his Dad into taking him on the carousal. :)

We also went to the Crown Center with some friends. outside there were lots of big "toys" for kids to play in and on. Braden and his friend Carter had lots of fun playing all over.

When you went in, Crayola had a fun course for them to go on that had lots of little activities for them to do.

Deer Coming From All Sides

One night (late Novemeber) on the way to my parent's place Ross hit a deer that was lying in the road sitting up. Luckily there wasn't too much damage done to the car. A few days later Ross, went hunting with a family friend, Mitch.
Ross hit the buck at 150 yards. It took one step normal, the next jump it's butt went high, and on the 3rd jump it went out of sight and flipped backwards. It's main beam broke off in the ground during the acrobatics. The buck had an unusual rack, long brow tines and hardly any tines after that. It's neck was 35" around, close to 200 lbs. From what I understand, a pretty good shot, and a nice size buck. Ross was excited. :)

This is the deer's antler that got stuck in the ground during it's flip.

When he got home he was eager to show it to Braden, who was super excited to see what daddy had shot. We have an upcoming hunter on our hands, I'm sure.

The next week Ross was drving somwhere in a neighborhood going like 20-25 mph when out of no where, a deer ran into the side of his car. Neither the deer or the are were hurt, it just got up and kept going...very random and pretty funny. When he told us the story I couldn't stop laughing!
THEN another few days later, Ross "got his revenge" when he went hunting with my dad and JD, and got himself another deer.
And I am happy to report that there have been no other deer encounters since...thank goodness! :)

catch up

O jeeze...it has been way too long since I've been on here. And I have lots of stuff to catch up on. It has just taken till now to get back into the groove of every day life since the holidays. I seriously spent almost every day in Liberty from the second week of December when Darci got here (the first to arrive) until the 8th of January when Darci left (the last to leave). And besides that, I now have an 9 month old (!) who does not like to be left alone for longer than 10 mins...maybe, unless he is sleeping. So I have (usually) a total of 3 hours to get myself and Braden ready, clean the house, feed myself, get dinner ready, and do school for Braden (which usually takes 40 mins to an hour itself) while Cashel is taking his naps. And yes I could do it at night when both boys are in bed, but I simply didn't want to. But I'm happy to report we're back into the swing of things, and with Cashel now crawling, it helps lots (more to come on his progress).
I guess it's catch up time...are you ready? I don't think I am, but here we go any ways.
