The actors of this project are, on the one, the Austrian guitarist and singer "Sir" Oliver Mally (Blues Distillery) and on the other, the Hamburg blues band "The Chargers" - randomly at the edge of a festival they met in 2004, came into conversation and knew immediately so magnificent, that one could imagine a future spontaneous musical collaboration.

With "LowFi Kings" the right band name was found for the joint jam sessions, tour and the in Hamburg studio-produced CD. Mally and the Chargers bring on "A Hard Night's Day" four of his own numbers, otherwise they fall back on proven material from well-known blues greats like Howlin 'Wolf, JL Hooker, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy and others.

The album sounds consistently homogeneous, in which the classics look fresh played and are interpreted in the style of the Chargers. Their own material adapts seamlessly, the instrumental work leaves no wish unfulfilled and finally there is the deep black voice of Oliver Mally. (http://www.bluesbox.de)

These cuts have been made on the 1st, 8th + 9th of July 1993 in Graz and after their live - debut CD - "ROUGH BRAND" this is an important extension about their Blues, because Sir Oliver, together with his Blues Distillery, stepped into the studio and, again they had some guests invited.

Flashy actions became real and equipped by a thrilling rhythm. They are soloing at full blast and the vocal contribution is natural and honest. How wonderful, that such a first class band comes out of Austria, and internationally there is no need to fear competition.

As an autodidact he spent his first years learning different guitar styles. Main influences on his electric guitary playing are Albert King, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, B.B.King, Albert Collins. After years of hard practice he developed his own style that separated him from other guitarist–clones.

In 1990 he formed the band “SIR” OLIVER MALLY’s BLUES DISTILLERY. During the following years the band was constantly on tour – national as well as international.
