Figured out some

I figured out how to get the clock to the top. But it sure wasn't easy. I'm not sure how to delete the one on the bottom though. There's got to be an easier way to do this.

Help

I am trying to add, I think there called widgets, to my blog. I got a clock and I got it to go to my blog, but I don't like where it is at. How do I move it? Also ghost you have a neat thing on your blog that I like. It is about mother and daughter. I got for Christmas a calendar from my granddaughter that has some sayings on them everyday and I would like to put them on line for you all to read, how....

Progress

Well here is the pictures I said I would show you.

I don't really like the way the baby yarn turned out on the mittens. It makes it look like theres two different mittens.

I hope the picture of the blanket is ok. It almost blends in with my couch.

Are weather is so strange. It took me 20 minutes to get the ice off
of my window after work tonight. I also heard there was a lot of
accidents on I-75 today between Gaylord and Grayling. I don't mind driving in the snow, but the ice is awful.

Well it's time for me to relax, and crochet some more. Everybody have a wonderful evening.

Take Care

Good Morning

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was quiet but nice. I seemed to get alot accomplished. I made those mittens for Emma, (my granddaughter) that are thumbless. We tried them on her and they fit width wise but I will need to add more rows length wise. So the first ones I made I'm not sure what to do with. You guys talk about charities you crochet for. So I was thinking maybe I'll add some more things and send them to one of those. I also put some of the snowflake squares together. I have two rows done. After work today I'll take a picture of those items.
Well speaking of work I have to go get ready.
Take care

Hello

Last night I went bowling, I had a lot of fun. We had our Christmas party for the league. Everybody brought a dish to pass and brought a 5 dollar gift. The 5 dollar gift is for what we call a strike gift. All the gifts go on a table and when the bowler gets her first strike she can go get a gift. The gift I picked was great. I love snowmen. I picked a gift that had a snowman bell in it.
I do love to bowl so does my husband. We do a lot of bowling, for example I bowl on Monday and Thursday and sometimes on a Sunday ( I am a sub on that league). My husband bowls on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Somebody has to help the bowling alley lol.....

Last night when I got home, I of course got online and checked out all the blogs plus some. I found a pattern for thumbless mittens. I started them last night, they are for newborns the pattern said to use a f hook. I thought I'd use a g hook and maybe they would fit my 6 1/2 month old granddaughter. She is a tiny little girl. She only weighs about 15 pounds. So I guess we will see.

I guess I should write down some of the projects that I would like to complete in 2009. Maybe that well be something to work on this weekend, since I have off. I have been also working on the snowflake blanket still. I got 10 squares complete.

Well I should get some of my other things done, so I can enjoy my crocheting later. I have to work today at 2:00 but I get off work at 6:00. Only 4 hours today. I don't get a whole lot of short hours so I am going to love this today.

You all take care and be safe.

brrrr....

Wow, how white it is outside. We have had so much snow this year and boy has it been cold brrrr... I guess this is the season. I don't mind the snow I just don't like the ice. Oh well what can we do.
I have been searching the web and been finding more patterns to do. I guess I will be busy in the year 2009. While I was searching through the blogs I was reading about a magic ball of yarn or mb something like that. Which is scrap yarn right? How long does the scrap need to be to add it to the ball? I have been putting the clippings of scraps into a baggy. I have quite a few small balls of yarn.
Well time to go relax and watch a little tv and of course crochet.
Take care and stay warm.
hugs to all

I'm back

Well so much for me posting a picture of the blanket the night I blogged last. But I have one to post now. Here it is.
I also found my pattern for the Stockings. It was found right where I said it probably was. It was behind the drawer of my coffee table. So all is well so far.
Husband and Son-n-law shoveled the roof yesterday, there was alot of snow up there. We kept hearing about the rainy weather that is supposed to be here today, that wouldn't be good to have on top of all the snow.
Back to crocheting.... Today is finish up day and wrap day. I have not yet sent the presents to Minnesota yet. I am so slow at that.

Crochet news

Well, I guess I'm not consistent with blogging. I sure do miss alot of days. I will get better I hope... I've been still working on the same blanket. I am soooooo close to finishing it. I will have a picture tonight of it.
Last night I went to make another stocking and couldn't find my pattern. I know it is around here. I usually keep them all together. I checked every where. This morning I thought of one place it might be and that might be in the coffee table. I have a draw that pulls out under the table. I wonder if it might of fell behind the drawer. Well that will be where I'll look when I'm done posting.

Yesterday I went to a friends house across the street and we tried making some ornaments. Here is a picture,
One I made to send as a gift, that is the top one, the bottom one is for my husband and I. That is a picture of our 4 grandkids. We are still experimenting with the glass and pictures.
Today I think I'll clean a little yuck... Then I'll make some cookies and then crochet. I really do need to finish these projects. I think I should have them in the mail by the 12th, to make sure they get there on time. Do I sound a little stressed....lol.
I just read the close knit hugs blog. I feel really bad, I have 3 blankets here to crochet together. I really need to get those done and dropped off. I've had them here for awhile. That will be on my list to do real soon. Like this week.
Well I guess I better get a move on it. You all take care, I'll have a picture of spiderman blanket tonight to show you.

More crochet

This weekend I was busy doing some crocheting. I decided to make a friend of mine a Colorful Carryall for crochet hooks. The pattern was on a newsletter called talking crochet. I am going to put different size hooks in it and give it to her for Christmas. When I talked to her last, she was making mittens and hats and I ask her what size hook was she using. She told me that she only has one size. Well we can't have that can we lol...

Here is a picture of the outside. I used scrap yarn for the colors.
I tried to show the inside with a few of my
hooks. I really don't like the tie idea I did for closing the case.
Please give me some ideas. The pattern of course says to make crochet buttons and loops. I want to do something different. Maybe put a button on it, but I'm not sure
how to make a button hole. HELP!!!
I was suppose to bowl tonight, but we cancelled it do to the weather. Lots... of snow. So I guess more crocheting for me. yeah.
Take care and keep warm.

Craft show

It's been a long time since I went to a craft show. I love them. I went today with a friend of mine and we had a nice time. I really loved seeing a lot of crochet and knitted items. There was alot of towels with crochet tops and dishclothes, blankets, and hats.
There was one booth that this couple said they sold out of the snowman kit. She was crocheting so I ask her what was she making. She told me a scarf for the snowman kit. I, of course, ask her what was a snowman kit. She told me her husband made a box that the lid slid open and in it she had a crocheted hat and scarf, a wood pipe and carrot and some buttons. On the top of the box it said everything you need for the snowman, just missing the snow. Isn't that a neat idea.

I bought a crocheted item. It is for hanging your towels. But there are two ways you can use it.
You can hook the round end on a knob and button the towel up, or you can button the holder around the stove and hang the towel in the ring. Here is a few pictures of it.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody. I hope you all have a wonderful dinner and enjoy the families. I am having my father-in-law and daughter and son-in-law and granddaughter over for dinner. My granddaughter is 6 months old. I have a son who lives in South Carolina and I have talked to him this morning. I wish we all could be together, but as long as they are happy and healthy that's what matters.

Well I have been crocheting. Last night I started and finished a mini tote. I am still working on the spiderman blanket. I wish I could start and finish the projects as fast as ghost and her sister Scarlet do. They do such beautiful work and there fast. Maybe someday I will be there.

Here is a picture of the blanket. Plus a picture of the first tote I made. I use the pattern Little Girls tote, I used Red Heart super saver yarn in candy print. The spiderman blanket I am using red heart yarn as well. I used blue, black and cherry red. I have gotten further on the blanket, I have to take a picture of it yet. I have to figure out what I should put on the front of the tote. I is going to a 3 year old. Any suggestions... I will take a picture of the mini tote I made last night as well and post either tonight or tomorrow night.
It seems like everything I am crocheting is the same as the other bloggers. I hope you don't mind. I love your ideas and enjoy working on them.

You all have a wonderful day. I'll talk to you soon.

hugs, Therese

Long time no blog

I've been working on a spiderman round ripple blanket. I want to give in to my grandson for Christmas. Sometimes it is just so hard to find time to get everything done that I would like to do. I work, bowl, and babysit for my 6 month old granddaughter and of course all the other daily things. But I'm going to keep plugging away and at it and see what I can do.

I finished one little girl's tote. I still have one more to make. I'll get the pictures posted tomorrow. I would love to make some of those candy canes that I've been reading about, they look really neat. I love to have homemade ornaments.

Well it looks like winter might be here to stay. At least in Northern Michigan. It has been pretty cold and white. Tis the season... lol. Well speaking of cold I guess I need to be on my way out there to work. I only work 6 hours today, so that's not to bad.

take care,

Therese

posting some pictures

It looks pretty cold outside today. What a great day to get some housework done and then do some crocheting.

Here is a picture of the snowflake hexagons I have done so far. I am using soft navy blue redheart yarn and white. As I'm crocheting this I keep thinking of all the neat colors that you could use with this. That could be put on my list of things to accomplish, later.

I have taken some pictures of Christmas gifts I have made so far. These are patterns that I have gotten online from different bloggers that I have been reading. Thank you all for sharing them

This one is for a very dear friend of mine who is or I should say just went thru chemo and radiation for breast cancer. She is 2 years younger than me. I am a breast cancer survivor also of 9 years. So when I saw this pattern I just had to make it for her.
The pictures below are for my grandchildren I have 4 of them. So I still have some to finish, but here is what I have so far. I have made, mittens, and stockings so far.
One of the pair of mittens I have to make is without the thumb, I'm not sure if the pattern would come out ok if I just skipped that part. Any ideas would be helpful. Well I best get busy doing some work today.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Take Care,
Therese

Winter coming.....

Wow, how pretty it was this morning all white. It is so pretty to see the first snow fall, but of course after awhile it will get old.

Thank you ghost for giving me some tips. I'm still trying to figure out how you guys have all that stuff on the sidebars. Like the sites you visit etc... One of the projects I'm working on is the crochet along snowflake afghan. I have done 2 and a 1/2 hexagons so far. I will take pictures.
Well off to do some crocheting before I call it a night.
Take care.

First time blogger

Well here I go, blogging. I have been reading other crocheters blogs for a while. I'm not quite sure how to do this but I am going to give it a real good try.
I have been so inspired by the other bloggers, how they seem to have time to get their crochting projects done. I have been getting a lot of projects done. I want to make gifts for Christmas this year. I do have a few done. Once I learn how to put the pictures on here I will do that. I have been getting a lot of ideas from bloggers. Thank you, everybody.
Well I'm going to watch a little tv and crochet. Have a wonderful evening.
