Anniversary Shadow Box by Dedra Long

I love shadowboxes and I have had this one for about a year. I always seem to have special things laying around and I'm always waiting for "just the right" paper, embellishments, etc. I have heard others talk about having this same problem.

So, I decided there was no time like the present and being that I love shadowboxes this is not my first and it sure won't be the last one I create to hang in the house. That reminds me, I need to tell Jon to add some more of these to his list of things he can always bring home to me.

I have always loved making these rolled flowers. I first creating flowers like these with old book pages. To create these I used pages from two 6" x 6" paper pads. After cutting each one, rolling them and gluing them together, I finished each flower off with brads and blingage. To balance the shadowbox I added the "cherish" stamped image. Super fun!

Supplies used:
6x6 Carolina Breeze Paper Pad
6x6 Sweet Afternoon Paper Pad
Sweet Afternoon Brads
Blingage
Fabrications Acrylic Stamps

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look! I hope you have a great weekend.

With CHA around the corner and the new releases coming out you will want to be sure to follow the Teresa Collins Designs Facebook Page, be sure to spread the word and like us on Facebook to see all the fun coming up!!

Sweet Afternoon "Remember" Layout by Dedra Long

For me the Sweet Afternoon Collection is one of Teresa's best collections. The soft palette, the mix of pinks, blues and very light grays makes this collection perfect for many different events and family members. From babies, to a wedding, to holidays and even teenagers.
Working with this collection to document my oldest daughters Prom, that only a select few Sophomores get to attend was amazing. The papers, embellishments are so easy to work with.

The designer papers in this collection coordinate so well together, that mixing and matching them is effortless. Each combination of papers I put together was beautiful, but I went with this choice for a couple of reasons. Shelby's favorite color is blue and she can be a girly girl. She loves dressing up, etc. which in my mind says the color pink, like a princess.
The other thing I love about the soft color palette is, if you choose to use a color photo or a back and white photo, it will "pop" off the page.

The list of supplies used in this layout:
Sweet Afternoon Just Relaxing Paper
Sweet Afternoon In the Garden Paper
Sweet Afternoon Flying Kites Paper
Sweet Afternoon Going Downtown Paper
Carolina Breeze Shelley Paper
Sweet Afternoon Stamps
Spring Fling Stamps
Fabrications Stamps
Everyday Moment Stamps
Sweet Afternoon Decorative Brads

Thanks for taking a look!

Fun with Paper Scrapbook layout using Carolina Breeze by Stacey Michaud

Sometimes I think it is important to have fun with paper...use it in a different way than you normally would!  Think about creating a mini when you are a layout girl or make your own chevron pattern.  Experimenting with paper expands the creative mind!

When I sat down to scrap this layout, I wanted to have some fun!  Since the topic is my daughter's preschool graduation, I immediately thought of scrolls.  Her diploma was all rolled up and tied with a ribbon.  Why not recreate that look for my page?

I used the pretty Carolina Breeze collection for this layout!  I love the die-cuts and how they can add so much to a page.  To make my scrolls, I simply cut rectangles of paper and placed a lot of adhesive along the edges.  I rolled mine around a pencil so they would form cylinders.  Then I pressed lightly so they stayed closed.  I tied a small piece of twine around a couple of them.  I carefully chose the ones on the left so they my left over twine would twirl over to the photo.  I like to place many of my design elements so they point towards or highlight the picture.

Look at the dimension the rolling effect creates...

It is an easy technique that yields cool results!

How will you play with paper today!?

2 page layout with Carolina Breeze "Vintage Style" by Colette

Today I want to share a layout I made with "Carolina Breeze".  I think the papers in this line are very versatile and they worked so well with these photos I took of my daughter.  We have a collection of Vintage cameras at my house- and this particular one- I actually spray-painted BLUE!  This camera was not in the BEST condition when I bought it at a second hand store - so with a little coat of paint and some damask stickers-- it is all "Fixed up".

Along with the Carolina Breeze papers -- I also used the alphabet stickers from the "Notations Album" - another of Teresa's lines.  Since the story was about the camera -- I made a flower with Tim Holtz "film strip ribbon".  Here's how I made the flower:

I cut  4 strips of the film -which is made of acetate.  The strips measured about 8 inches long.  I folded them over to create loops and stapled them in the center.  After doing this to all 4 strips,  I piled them on top of each other to create a flower.  The center of the flower is held together with a Bling BRAD.
I used the film strip to make the stem of the flower and also as borders to my photo.
Have a delightful day making memories!

Enjoy today... With Julie Jacob

Happy Friday the 13th!
Are you superstitious? Me...not so much. My son's basketball team...definitely. They warm up the same way before games. Throw the ball between the same guys...use the same ball after they've made a basket.  It's a little crazy. Personally, I'm just hoping there's not some weird socks or underwear thing thrown in there as well!
I hope you can enjoy today even if you are superstitious. ;)

I'd like to share a layout I did with the Carolina Breeze line...just love those yellows and grays.

I misted the base of the layout first. I also misted the diamond-patterned divider page from the album kit.  I like using black and white photos...I especially love them with this line. And that it's me and my girls. :)
I folded and misted some dictionary paper (I am on a misting roll!) and then stitched over it several times.
The 'everyday life' stamp I made with the TC Stampmaker.

I have a fun old typewriter that I used for the 'count your blessings'.

Have a great Friday!
Don't step on any cracks or walk under any ladders... ;)

Laugh Layout by Dedra Long featuring the Carolina Breeze Collection

I have to say that when I saw the Carolina Breeze Collection from Teresa I was beyond excited. This collection is so versatile and elegant. Perfect for Spring, Summer, Vacation and Travel, Weddings and in my case my oldest daughters Homecoming this year.

I had made a paper flower corsage for Shelby to wear to her Homecoming dance and I loved that I could keep it for her after the event. Originally I thought that I would put the corsage in a box and she would take it with her when she was ready. Then I saw this collection and decided to make it apart of the Homecoming layout I was creating.

The only thing I was concerned about was it becoming a permanent part of the layout and she would not have been able to wear it again. Then it "hit" me. I decided to attach velcro to the back of the corsage and on the layout.

Now, she can take the corsage off of the layout and wear it anytime. I won't lie I like a layout that is interactive too!

Always, Layout inspiration from Jamie Harder

Well another year has come and gone and each one seems to go quicker than the next.  It feels like just yesterday my almost eight year old daughter was just a baby.  Children definitely make you notice how fast time goes by!  But with each day she grows more wonderful than ever and as my layout reads, "whatever age you are, you will always be my baby."

I used the gorgeous Carolina Breeze collection for this layout.  If I could wallpaper my living room with this collection, I would.  Yellow and grey are so perfect for each other:-) I cut out a few of the flowers from the "Mckay" paper and pop dotted them overtop of the paper.  A few fun circle, buttons and pearls from "Donna's Gems" to finish this layout off!

Carolina Breeze Family Tag by Colette

This tag was something I created for the cover of an album I will be making.  I thought I'd share it here as we are "Celebrating" Tags!
This tag features Teresa's latest release called Carolina Breeze .
The supply List:
Carolina Breeze Kayla paper
Carolina Breeze Die Cuts and Stickers
Cricut Expression Machine
Cricut Sophisticated Cartridge
Blingage:  Gentry's Glitter, Donna's Gems
Blingage Alphabet stamp set:  Crown stamp
Black Stazon Ink
Close to My Heart Glue Pen and Pop Dots
Black Ribbon: Michaels
Tim Holtz Tiny attacher

This tag was cut out of the Kayla paper using the Sophisticated cartridge.  This black tag is 5 1/4" tall.
I also cut out a flag shape measuring 4 1/2" tall.  It is cut of the same paper, but I used the patterned side for the flag.  Using the Glue Pen and glitter, I edged the flag in glitter and then glued on to the black tag.
Add a line of Donna's gem pearls across top of flag.
Right below the pearls I added a line of the yellow pennants from the die cut sheet.
The swirl tag is a Die cut.  Darken edges and stamp the crown in the center.  Mount this tag in the center of flag under pennants.
Lastly I added the family sticker and stapled a ribbon to the top of tag.
This little beauty will be such a cute focal point on the album I am making!!

This mini came together quickly and lets the gorgeous Carolina Breeze papers and die cuts shine.

Can you believe it is only 4 days until Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends! Happy Holidays to you all!!

~Blessings Tag Banner~ by Julie Jacob

I'm wondering how many of you participate in Ali Edward's "One Little Word" idea? You choose one word that's kind of your theme for the year.....this year I chose 'calm'. Some days that has worked out great...other (lots of) days, not so much.
For next year, I have chosen 'blessings'. Actually, I'd like to do 'count your many blessings name them one by one'...but since it's not "Nine Little Words", I just went with blessings.

I wanted to make a banner I could hang in my scrapbooking room, just for a visual reminder throughout the year. I used the Carolina Breeze paper line, and made this:

Just for the picture, I hung it up on my cupboards. You can get an idea as to the size here:
Eventually it's going to hang on the opposite wall, which is blue. You can see a little piece of the color on the right side of the picture. Ahem...please excuse the mess!
This one's a little closer-up:
I started with a pile of goodies a lot like this:

Supplies Used:
CB1301 Carolina Breeze – Gentry (both sides)
CB1302 Carolina Breeze – Kayla (front)
CB1305 Carolina Breeze – Myrla (both sides)
CB1307 Carolina Breeze – Shannon (both sides)
CB1308 Carolina Breeze – Shelley (front)
CB1309 Carolina Breeze – Taylor (front)
BL1902 Blingage – Amy’s Gems
BL1924 Blingage – Ali’s Pins
TC Sophisticated Cricut Cartridge - Provocraft
Flowers – Tim Holtz (buttons), hand made (cream on B), Recollections (small grey group of 3), Jolee’s Boutique (grey and sparkly black)
Lace & black ribbon – JoAnn
Black flower ribbon – Maya Road
Shipping tag
Stapler – Tim’s Tiny Attacher
Black cardstock – Bazzill
Sewing pattern - Simplicity
Sewing machine
Mod Podge
I used the brown shipping tag in the picture as my template, and traced tags from 9 different Carolina Breeze papers. Next, cut out 9 rectangles of sewing pattern tissue (big enough to cover your tags)...making sure you cut pieces with interesting lines and pictures on them. Good luck re-folding that stuff. It's pretty much impossible to get it back into the envelope the same way it came out! :)
Mod Podge the paper and overlay the sewing pattern tissue. Smooth it out so you don't get wrinkles, and let dry.
Next, machine sew around the edges with black thread.

Don't worry about having perfect lines!
Then, using my Cricut and the TC Sophisticated cartridge (found it at Michaels on Black Friday...woohoo!) I cut out the letters at 3" on black cardstock.
Adhere the letters to the tags and add doo dads. I used flowers, buttons, ribbon, trims, you name it. Cut 9 - 3/4"x 3" pieces of black cardstock for the hang loops and staple over the tag holes. Thread through your black ribbon and you're all set!
You could easily adapt this for Christmas using the Christmas Home papers (and shorter words like joy, peace, love, etc!)
I have close up pictures of each tag on my blog: www.juliejac.typepad.com in case you want to peek!
And just so you know...
Teresa has some awesome new holiday images available in the Cricut Craft Room!
