Happy 4 YOU tag by: Colette Nederhoff

I am really a fan of tea stained paper - and the "OLD" look it gives the project.  I wanted an antique look for this tag.  Here's what I used to make it:

Tea-stained tag:  7 gypsies
World Traveler papers: Red Brocade and Black Damask
World Traveler Trims and Decorative Brads
Cricut Expressions Machine
Teresa Collins Sophisticated cartridge
Blingage Stamp Set
Timeless Stamp Set
Blingage:  Jason's metal stars
Jute
Mocha Chalk Ink: Quick Quotes
Foam Pop Up dots:  Close to my Heart
2" scallop circle punch: Fiskars

To create this tag:
First you want to cut your red shapes using the Cricut and the Sophisticated cartridge.
The bottom red shape measure 4 1/4"  wide and 2 1/2" high.  The brocade red is slightly smaller to layer over the solid red one. Adhere them together and also add the brads to hold them together. Distress edges with Mocha ink.
Next I stamped the border with the "Timeless" stamps along the bottom of my tea stained tag.  This large tag measures 6 1/2" tall.  The Red shapes can be added to the tag by popping with foam dots.
Punch a scallop circle and distress edges.  You can stamp any message on this circle.  I used the Blingage alphabet for stamping mine.
I also used a 2nd tea-stained tag to stamp "happy" and cut that out.
Tie a piece of the World traveler lace trim above your red shapes.  I knotted to the right side and glued the Happy on top of my knot.
Tie a Metal star on the tag with some Jute and it is ready to tie on a package!!

Happy Mother's Day - Layout from Colette Nederhoff

We hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day.

We wanted to share a layout from our Design Team Member Colette Nederhoff.
Thank you Collete!  Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Timeless Flag Layout
Designed by: Colette Nederhoff (http://nederhoffco.blogspot.com)
Featuring: Teresa Collins Designs Timeless paper (http://teresacollins.typepad.com)
Supplies:
1 4x6 PHOTO
TCD Timeless Pink Stripe Paper
TCD Black Damask Paper
TCD Gray Damask Paper
TCD Timeless Time Clocks Paper
TCD Timeless Labels Paper
Coredinations Black/White Paper
TCD Timeless Decorative Brads
TCD Timeless Chipboard elements
TCD Timeless Trims
Blingage:
Donna’s Gems
Amy’s Jewels
Jamie’s Gems
Staples: Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher
Adhesives: Glossy accents and Adtech glue runner
Black Stazon ink
Zig Black marker
Instructions:
1. Crop Photo to 4 X 41/2”
2. Cut 5” X 6 ½” piece of the Black Cardstock to mat photo on. Place photo to the left hand
side of mat.
3. Cut out a Clock shape from the Timeless Time Clocks paper and tuck under the black mat
on
the bottom left hand corner of the mat. Glue down on the 12X 12 Pink stripe background
Placing this toward the lower right side of the layout.
4. Cut a 1 ½ “ strip of the Black Damask paper and use scallop scissors to make fancy edge on
1 edge. I used the polka dot side up and used as a border along bottom of photo. Before
sticking it down, attach a strip of the white lace trim to the straight edge and then glue.
Accent with a line of the Donna’s gems to cover the merger between lace and paper.
5. Attach the Chipboard Frame on the right side of the photo and accent with Amy’s Gem in
Center. I also added the numbers from the Chipboard elements along top of photo.
6. To make the flags along top edge of layout-- I cut random strips of the papers, and also
some
Tags from the Labels paper. This is where your individual creativity comes into this page.
You can use whichever combination of the papers to create different levels of flags and
even
layer some to create dimension. After cutting and arranging to suit your taste, you can
distress the edges with the Black ink. These flags get positioned and using a little glue under
them, you can staple at the top each one when you like the placement. I did not glue them
down completely, as wanted dimension from the bending up of the bottoms.
7. Now you can embellish these flags in different ways- such as Brads, gems, and Chipboard.
8. My journaling is done with a zig marker. There is room on this page for as much journaling as you like.

Thank you Colette!   Have a great Mother's Day Everyone!

Teresa Collins Design Team - Getting to know Jamie Harder

We are back to our regular scheduled program. It is time to meet our final design team member Jamie Harder. Her work is amazing and photography skills are just amazing. Jamie has been published in many magazines and one of the original design team members for Teresa Collins. We asked Jamie a couple of questions and this is what she had to say.

Jamie Harder
What is your scrapbooking style?
Do I have a style?  I suppose I do...I am drawn to clean and linear layouts but I like to explore lots of styles and try to grow creatively:-)

How did you start scrapbooking?
My first scrapbook "album" was one that I did for my Dad.  We hiked the West Coast Trail together and it was such a special memory that I wanted to capture it somehow and thus my first scrapbook was born.  Like many, it was not until my children were born that I really became hooked!

What influences your designs?
I am influenced by the pictures mostly and the story I want to tell.  I love to look through magazines to get new ideas of what to try on my pages!

How long do you spend working on a layout?
The amount of time I spend on a layout definitely varies.  I love the process and will often sit in front of my computer...talking on forums, looking at online magazines or I scrapbook while watching TV or listening to music...and then...it takes me awhile.  But I am having fun...enjoying the process.  Other times...the layouts practically scrapbook themselves (which often happens when I am working with Teresa Collins' BEAUTIFUL product)

What does your work area look like while you are working on a project? Clean and organized? Messy and all over the place?
When I am working on a project, my once neat and tidy room becomes a complete disaster.  My space is technically our office (however, it has very quickly been taken over) so I try to keep it clean for others to use.

What is your favorite color combination?
I love so many color combinations but I have the easiest time scrapbooking with the color pink.  I have two daughters who adore pink so I have endless photos that coordinate nicely:-)

Do you have any other hobbies?
My other hobbies include: photography, gardening, reading, and running.

Here are some beautiful layouts made by Jamie using the Timeless Collection.
I love the way Jamie layers different elements to make her own embellishments.

Here is a cute home decor frame that carries over from the layout to create a beautiful framed artwork.

My favorite technique Jamie uses is her ability to layer the pattern papers to make her photographs be the center of attention on her layouts.  I love all the detail she puts in each of her layouts.  Not over the top, not to simple but just right for her layouts.

I had to share this layout, this is personally one of my favorites that Jamie created using the Posh Collection.  I think I am in love with the way she captures the expression of her girls.  I love the "toothless smile".

Thank you Jamie for sharing your amazing talent with us.  We hope you enjoyed getting to know Jamie.  Please check out her blog at http://ahappyscrappyplace.blogspot.com to see more of her amazing work.  We are so honored to have Jamie as part of our Teresa Collins Design Team.
