Summer Stories Meet Project Life with Suzanne Sergi

Happy Wednesday!

If you have been scrapbooking for a few years, you have probably heard of Project Life. I have been wanting to try this new format in my own scrapbooking. However, all I kept doing was thinking about, and not really having a plan to get started. I decided to begin my 2013 Project Life Album at the beginning of June. I had great intention of designing my cover page, prior to the 1st of June. However, June 1st came, and went. So, this week, I decided to bring out two page protectors, pair it with the gorgeous collection of Summer Stories, and begin documenting the new chapter in my family's life.

The past week was a perfect opportunity to document, and  it was a week of celebration. With a bit of renewal, thrown in for myself. My approach is simple, and simply chose the photos that were of the most significance of the week's events. My oldest daughter graduated from Junior High, so I included lots of photos from this event. I also documented a personal first moment for me.

Luckily, for me I had these page protectors in my stash. My process was simple, as I have been documenting each day with a photo. I also have been jotting down notes of the day's events in my calendar. I tend to forget what happened yesterday!

Here are a few details of my week in review:

One thing I love are the assorted envelopes found in Teresa Collin's collections. Here I simply adhered to the outside of the page protector. The envelopes are perfect for including journaling or memorabilia. I covered the inside flap with another patterned paper. I pulled out some of Teresa's metal hardware to add more texture to this pocket. I love dimension on my projects, and although, Project Life has a more simplistic approach, there is not any reason to add your own creative touches! In this decorative envelope, I added movie ticket stubs. This was a simple moment, but one worth remembering! I pulled in some twine, and chipboard  elements from Summer Stories on the top.

Here is a pocket that I chose not to tuck in a photo. I decided to simply embellish it, using the large chipboard element frame. I also pulled in the 6x6 Summer Stories designer pad, and cut the mini story bingo card, to place inside the frame's window. It fit perfectly!

You can also add detail to the outside of the page protectors by using the border strips found in this collection, too. They are 12x12, and add a nice decorative border underneath the photos.

Here is a closer view of the 4x6 pocket on the right hand side of the page. I added patterned paper to the bottom of the text background. Created a pocket, that I stitched with my sewing machine. I tucked in another photo of my special graduate. I added one of Teresa's pre made flowers, and a decorative brad for the center.

Above you can see a snapshot of our week, and love that the 4x3 journal cards were a perfect fit to add into the page protectors. I used them primarily because I love the quotes found throughout this collection, and they are perfect to include journaling tidbits of the week.

A final detail of a photo of the special graduation blessing read by me to my daughter.  I rarely have photos of myself, so nice to see at least one snapshot of me. I am beginning my new chapter, and I cannot wait to use Project Life, and Teresa Collins collections to help me document them in the weeks ahead!

Thanks for stopping by the blog, and have a fabulous week!

Project Life - Jamie Harder using the new Summer Stories Collection

Hello everyone!  I am excited to share my project life pages with you today!  I love the new Summer Stories collection ... even though these pictures are from February :-) I think it works perfectly!

I cut out the flowers from the patterned paper and placed them next to my daughter's flower artwork she did!  I love how perfectly the enamel dots fit in the centre and they are flat so they don't add any bulk!  The "FEB" I also cut out of patterned paper to use as my title.  (My pages don't always follow a weekly structure so this way I can keep track of when they were taken!)

And here is a close up of the other side.  I love that quote!

Thanks for stopping by!

Project Life by Dedra Long using Summer Stories Collection

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I wanted to share my latest Project Life spread using the Summer Stories Collection.

I have to be completely honest here. Over the years I have tried so many different page protectors, it has been quite a journey to find the ones that are just right. Well, early last year I found the page protectors of my dreams, so I bought a whole bunch of them. During the same time I had started also doing Project Life and the standard "journaling cards" measure around 3" x 4" and the page protectors I loved like the ones I used here measure around 4" x 4".

In the beginning that caused a problem for me, but Teresa's collections are so amazing that I had to fins a way to get past this little road block. All of her collections, including her latest Summer Stories are so well coordinated that you can combine her "journaling cards" for a super fun look. In the spread above I used the black and white polka dot journaling card and used it with the number journaling card that I cut in half. I can use the other half later on a layout or something else.

That glittered camera is stunning. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in my box. This collection has an awesome selection of glittered papers you will love.

Yep, I'm officially still in love with enamel dots, sequins and washi tape. The washi tape in this collection is "a"mazing! Really!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Project Life with Yvonne Blair featuring Teresa Collins Summer Memories

Hi everyone! Yvonne here with some layouts for Project Life.
I had fallen a bit behind, but I am happy to say I am catching up and promising myself I will not fall this far behind again, wink.
When I received the new release of Summer Memories I knew it was just what I needed to inspire me to get on the ball!!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this line.  The colors, the designs, the textures are utterly fabulous.
Oh...and the decorative tape, ack...just what someone with a slight washi addiction needed, lol.
Below is the first side of Week 9.
 Week 9 page 2.

It is very hard to photograph in the pocket pages, so I tried to get a slight angle.
Maybe a little better to see some of the details.
Below, the camera in the journaling card is glitter.  Love this.  Really adds a pop.

Week 10 and 11 where really kind of uneventful so they are just one page layouts.  That is what I love about Project Life.  You really customize it to what you need. There are some of my weeks that needed more then two pages, and others that well, just needed the one.
I hope you enjoyed peeking at my Project Life.  It really is a fabulous way to get some of those memories preserved that wouldn't make it in to my traditional scrapbook.  Love the simplicity of it as well!

Project Life using Summer Stories - with Julie

Hi everybody!  Welcome to another fun week of Project Life!
And if you're not doing PL...don't run away!   Many of the tips, tricks & ideas used for PL or journaling cards can be applied to layouts, cards...whatever you're working on! :)

I'm sharing my pages from last week.

I was getting quite a glare from the page protectors...so I took everything out for photos.  I used two different sized page protectors.  I do this from week to week.  First I see what I have to work with (my favorite photos)...if I have a lot of verticals...I'll use page protectors like I did this week.  If I have lots of horizontals...or 'littles'...I'll use one that has more 3x4 spots.

Week 16...which for me was April 14-20.
When I was working on this for today's post, I still had pictures coming from the weekend.
I also want to add some journaling about what happened in Boston.  I will most likely use the back of this page for those things.
I included my cat Lola, who had to make a little visit to the vet (all is well!)...Ian walking in to school, and a couple of pictures of things I see in my home town pretty much every day, I just don't stop to photograph them.  Until now. :)

I used Summer Stories for my accent pieces.  LOVING that line! :)  (Especially the gold dot glitter paper!)

This piece is 4x6.  I used a lot of the papers from the 6x6 paper pad.  The D/Document is cut from the Flashcards paper.  Then I added little bits and pieces from the chipboard accents (these are awesome!), the die cuts & brads.

This is a 3x4 card...cut from the wood grain side of the Filigree paper.  I added the Nowhere Else sticker...some chipboard, the glitter border strip, and those enamel dots.  LOVE those little guys!
I added a doily for the bottom, and fussy cut a couple of those pretty pink flowers.

I cut this out from the paper that has all the 3x4 journaling cards on it.  I covered the center section with the flower paper, added chipboard, a little bit of gold glitter border...and stamped the Story.

The top 3x4 card is also from the Cards paper.  I stitched along the banner at the top and added a little washi at the bottom.  I included some highlights from our family's week.
I had to include the picture of my daughter texting...because it was just so typical! lol
Also, baseball season has started...and I got a new phone last week!  Woohoo!

This is a 6x4 piece of gold glitter dot paper.  I added a strip of the black from the 6x6 paper pad, and I cut the library card portion from the Ephemera paper.  Then I added a few doo dads to make the filler card.

Thanks for sharing my week with me! :)

Project Life with Sesil Cratin featuring She Said Collection

Sesil here to show you my project life pages.  I have to say.. this is my first year to work on project life and I  am starting to enjoy documenting the everyday.  I have been journaling in my book so I can keep up with what we do during the week. I have my pictures sent off to get printed.  So I am a couple of weeks behind.  But that is okay.  It is easy to catch up.  I love using Teresa Collins Collections with my project life.  It makes it easy with all the fun papers and the embellishments.

The joy about the page protector layout style is that anything goes. I used the She Said collection to work on my Week 4 layout.  The colors coordinated with the pictures for this week.  I like how the pinks pulled the color from my daughter's coat.  Notice the yellow in my coffee cup goes great with the yellow in the collection.  And the blue flower paper coordinates with the blue in the art project.  Using the word paper in my layout pulls all the colors together giving my layout a cohesive look.
I loved the glitter envelope.  I used it to store my little receipts for the week.  It didn't fit in the actual page protector so I just adhered it to the TOP of the page protector.  It works for me and I like the pop of glitter on my page.

This week we didn't do much as a family.  So I filled my page with a progressive picture of the artwork that I helped out in my daughter's class.  It was a fun way to show how interactive the art project worked that week.

I love working with the page protectors because anything goes and there is not thinking about layout.

My favorite part of it all is that I am using my own handwriting. I am not a fan of my handwriting but at least my kids will see it when they get older and there is something about me all in this album.

I hope you enjoyed the peek into some of our lives with project life with the Design Team.  I know I loved seeing what everyone has been up with the team on a personal level.
Make sure to leave a comment on today's blog post for a chance to win this weeks prize pack.  We will announce the winner on Monday's post.
Tell next time. Happy crafting.

Project Life using Stationery Noted File Folders by Dedra Long

This is my second year doing Project Life and I'm still in love with the process. Quite often I catch my girls and even my husband checking out last year. It really is a priceless moment when that happens.
During the week I was at CHA I noticed I had gathered a lot of memorabilia and I was trying to figure out how I was going to get it all in the one page spread.

Then I remembered Teresa's File Folders that come with all her new collections and it was perfect for fitting my name badge, hotel card and other things inside. I wrapped twine around the file folder to keep it closed.

The accordion file folder was the perfect solution.
Thanks for stopping by!

Don't forget about the weekly giveaway, to enter just leave a comment each day this week for your chance to win the goodies as shown on Monday's post.

Project life fun with Yvonne Blair featuring Stationary Noted

Hi everyone!  Yvonne here to show you a peek inside my Project Life.  I am loving this way of scrapping those everyday photos that don't usually make it into my scrapbook because they aren't "worthy" of a whole layout.  Then they just sit in a pile and collect dust, wink.  So...I am LOVING being able to include them into Project Life.
This is the first part of Week 2.  Now, this was really a busy busy week.  CHA was part of week 2 and 3...so it carried over.  LOTS and LOTS of pictures.  I cut a page protector into a 6x12 to include a bunch of random 3x4 pictures from the show. I used a tab punch to divide the days.
This was a really fun day because I got to meet my dear friend Lindsay that I have known for years on-line, but finally was able to meet face to face.  Below of course is very special, a picture of Teresa and I.

More random pictures from the show.
On to week three which was still part of CHA and then some home stuff.
I can honestly say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the simplicity of Project Life.
Here are some close-ups of my weekly cards.  Stationary Noted is PERFECT for adding some fun into Project Life.  I will be using this quite a bit through out the year I'm sure, wink.

Hope you enjoyed a peek inside my Project Life undertaking.  I am really excited to follow this through for the year!  Hope you have a great week. Don't forget to leave a comment, you might just win a prize!!!
