Blessed card....by Julie

Julie's list of 5 things she doesn't like:

1.  SNAKES.
2.  Taking the elevator to the tops of tall buildings.
3.  Costco parking lot.
4.  When I get a mocha instead of hot chocolate at Starbucks, and I don't realize it until I'm 5 miles down the       road.
5.  Making cards.

Let's talk about #5.

I don't know why I have this thing about making cards.
After all, they're just teeny little mini books without insides, right?
So.  In an effort to take number 5 off my list.....in an effort to EMBRACE my inner card maker....

My Blessed card:

I mixed Vintage Finds with Teresa's Giving Thanks line (one of my all-time favorites!)
I love cutting up those Bingo cards.  I admit to being something of a Bingo card addict.

The pumpkins in the flower centers are from the free September stamp download.
Available here.
Look at all the cute templates:

Miss Cheri...you did an awesome job designing these! :)
I used the baby pumpkin stamp for my card.  I stamped on the Vintage Finds Black Damask paper (text side) and then cut them out.

I'm not totally sure if I should take card making off my list for good.
Maybe I'll put it on my 'Things that don't scare me as much anymore' list.
Have a great Wednesday!

a little travel journal by Julie Jacob

It is finally summer...and around here that means summer soccer tournaments!
Belle's soccer team (the Rangers) is traveling to California in August to play in the Carlsbad Cup.  With a little trip to Disneyland & the beach thrown in.
I thought it would be fun for her to have a little travel journal for the trip. ;)

It's nice and compact (4"x6") so she can keep it in her backpack.  (Or more realistically, my purse.)
I used Everyday Moments, Fabrications Canvas, World Traveler & Sweet Afternoon.  How's that for mixing it up?  The stamp is made with the TC Stampmaker.
I should explain that 27 is her jersey number.  I think she is digging her book...

Let's peek inside a little.

I used a punch for the tabs at the top.  The stamps on these pages are from World Traveler.  Most of the pages are blank for now.  I wanted her to have plenty of space for notes, things to remember, or autographs at Disney.

I made the Go Rangers! stamp with my Stampmaker.  The pocket page on the right is from a map...the bottom is sewed shut, so she can keep tickets, receipts, etc. in there.  I had thought I was being so clever...using a map of southern California.  And then I punched out Carlsbad and San Diego.  Duh.

The envelope on the right is from the World Traveler album kit...I just cut it down to fit my book, and then sewed the right edge shut.
The stamp on the left is also made with the Stampmaker.  It's kind of like the team philosophy.  I got the image from an email from the coach, and turned it into a stamp.

And one more page...

I also made a bigger travel journal for myself...I have a picture of it on my blog today.  :)
Happy Tuesday...

Senior Themed mini book by Cheri using Fabrications Linen

I get it now, SENIOR YEAR. I was not prepared for it, for all of the emotions. I understand now what my friends have been going through before me. Hectic but GOOD all at the same time.

It has flown by so fast!! Listen to your friends and family when they tell you that, it's so true! I still remember the very first day of school and E in her "Mary Janes" and a dress, pretty much the only dress she wore up until this year! I have snapped so many photo's this year!

This album will be one of my very most treasured albums, so many fun memories!  I cut one of the 10x10 chipboard albums in half and used it as the front and back cover. The entire album measures
5 x 10. Each page that I used was cut 10 x 10 and folded in half to create "pocket" pages for additional photo's! Those would be the pages with ribbon or tabs on the edges to be able to pull the extra photo's out.

When creating the album I wanted tons of layers on everything. I layered buttons on top of buttons and rhinestone gems on top of buttons and embellishments.

I created "TOKENS" using the Teresa Collins STAMPMAKER. I love how they help finish off the senior theme of the album. Please check out the Stampmaker blog today for instructions on how to create your own!

Supplies -
FABRICATIONS LINEN: Papers - Green Brocade side B, Green Fleur De Lis side B, Ornate Brackets, Pretty Flowers & side B, Red Brocade side B, Red Flowers side B, Red Quatrefoil side B, Tan Damask. Embellishments from the collection: Stickers, Stamps, Die Cut Sheet, Chipboard Elements, Chipboard Album Covers, Rhinestones, Decorative Brads, Flower, Buttons, Trinkets.
FABRICATIONS CANVAS: Trinkets (large silver photo corners).
Other: Crepe paper, Teresa Collins Stampmaker, cream ribbons and cream beads, black and cream cardstock. Black photo corners.

Wow! Senior Year!! WOO HOO!!

Hanging Scrapbook page......by Julie Jacob

Hanging page on a really pretty stand thingy?
12x12 layout with holes at the top that's displayed really cute?
I didn't know what to call it...so when all else fails, read the packaging.
It's a Scrapbook Page Holder. (I feel so silly now.)
And I got mine at Michael's (already on sale, woohoo!)
It comes with several page protectors, but I decided not to use them.
I basically made a 12x12 layout...mounted on chipboard so it's a little more sturdy...and punched hanging holes in it:

I used Sweet Afternoon - By the Pond (white side) as the layout base. I adhered it to a 12x12 piece of chipboard with a glue stick.
I matted my 5x7 photo with SA - Just Relaxing (white side), and then some gray cardstock. Adhere just a smidge above center on the base paper. Punch out the ledger die cut border (Die Cut sheet 2), and adhere beneath the photo mat.
Adhere the 'find beauty' chipboard piece under the photo. Add stamped doily, flower, & heart with bling.

Add paper tape to the sides of the layout.
Adhere ledger piece (cut from SA - With a Book) at the top....round the bottom corners.
Add tab sticker and 'you bring my heart joy' sticker. Finish with silver clip (office supply store).

Add gray banner brad to left corner. Then I adhered a 6 wooden tile to the banner.
Finish by stamping 'family' above the top left corner of the photo mat, and punching hanging holes. I lined up a page protector so the holes would be in the right spot.

Supply list:
Sweet Afternoon - By the Pond
Sweet Afternoon - With a Book
Sweet Afternoon - Just Relaxing
Sweet Afternoon - Die Cut Sheet 2
Sweet Afternoon - Sticker Sheet
Sweet Afternoon - Chipboard Elements
Sweet Afternoon - Decorative Brads
Blingage - Taylor's Clips
Fabrications Canvas Flower
TC Stampmaker (for jacob 6 stamp)
Ink - Tsukineko (StazOn Jet Black)
Paper tape - Tim Holtz
12x12 chipboard
Gray cardstock
Heart punch - Martha Stewart
Dictionary paper, 6 wooden tile
Scrapbook Page Holder - Recollections
Corner rounder
Hole punch - Cropadile
Silver clip

There you go...I love this idea because you can change out the pages...or just keep adding them.
Enjoy your weekend!

Journal book by Cheri Piles using Spring Fling and TC Stampmaker

I love the new Spring Fling Collection. I had a little journal book and gave it a book cover wrap. Then added a few of the die card embellishments and die card stickers.

As I was creating this little journal book I decided I needed some tabs. Then I decided that I would really like to have words that fit perfectly into the white space for the tabs.... Then of course because my juices were flowing I needed a cute little banner to use with my new words and a new journal spot...

One of the things I love most about having my own stamp machine is that I can create a set of stamps in just moments. Stamps that I want or need for a particular project all at hand at a moments notice.

I love how I was able to dress up my new little journal!

Happy Valentines Day!! Card Making with the Teresa Collins Spring Fling & Stampmaker free downlaod

I love Valentines... ok, truth: I love the chocolate that comes along with the day!

Making fun little valentines cards is pretty fun too!

The January free monthly download was full of fun little valentine stamps to create with and is what I used to create the card. Click on the above link for the free pdf monthly download or go directly to the TC Stampmaker website to obtain your free copy.

First you will want to create all of your stamps as I did below:

Then you will want to create all of your layers:

  • The white base stamped with "I love you" border measures 5 3/4 x 5 3/4
  • I then cut a paper bag 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 using a wavy blade trimmer stamped the hearts and the large I {heart} U in the upper left and centered it onto the white base.
  • I cut a 1 1/2 strip of burlap and create a folded banner and glued a 4 inch scallop circle from the new Teresa Collins Spring Fling collection paper: houndstooth
  • I stamped the tag "will you be my valentine?" onto a book page and trimmed edges, added ribbon and some bling to the top of the tag.
  • I cut a 2 1/4 inch scallop circle from the TC Spring fling line paper: mixed brocade (side B - dots) then stamped the outlined stiched heart onto it adhearing using 3D foam squares.
  • I stamped the "xoxo" strip onto white and folded around one of Teresa Collins "Ali's Pins" and adhered behind the heart.
  • I created little tags from cream craft paper and stamped "QT" & "Kisses", I stapled "QT" with some white ribbon, layered on top of the bottom of the scallop heart. I slid "Kisses" under the lower right of the scallop heart and added a gem.
  • Adhere your creation onto a black 6 x 6 card and your done!

You can find the Inkssentials Memory frames & glass at your craft store. I got mine at Michaels (with a coupon, yay!)
The frames open up and you can slide whatever you want inside, between two layers of glass.
I cut different Christmas Home papers for inside my frames. You can also add a photo.
I made custom stamps with my TC Stampmaker (peace, love & joy)...and stamped them on paper. Next, cut them to fit in the frames...just use a piece of glass as your template.
You could do pictures on one side, and names or monograms on the other.
Add some pretty beads & ribbon and you're all set!
These are also great for gift tags:
and the back:
You could also stamp them to say "from the _______ family"...whatever you like.
Have fun creating...the possibilities are endless...and these little things are addicting! :)
