Cult of Personality

We were tagged by the Island Cats for this Awesome Meme! We have to give 7 reasons why we're awesome, we spread the awesomness between us all......enjoy!

1. Maya- I'm awesome because I'm the oldest, therefore, the wisest! 2. Chevelle- I'm awesome because I have long and luscious whiskers! 3. Ferris- I'm awesome because I can touch my nose with my tongue!
4. Maizy Grace- I'm awesome because I "do the Q" very well! 5. Rambler- I'm awesome because I have my very own scratch box! 6. Maggie May- I'm awesome because I'm the baby of the family and that means I get away with everything! 7. Fosters: Reilly, Sebastian and Saylor- We're awesome because we are very cute and loving kittens who will hopefully find awesome forever homes real soon!

Jailbreak

Sebastian and Reilly's visit to the vet went very well!! They got their last booster vaccination and both tested negative for FIV and FeLV! Yay! All the purrs worked! They were able to "break out of jail" when they got back home. The meet and greet with the others went ok, there was some hissing, but it wasn't too bad. Thanks for all the purrs, friends!
Great news......the Casbah Kittens have chosen the Beaufort Community Cat Project as their animal charity for August! So, a portion of their Etsy shop profits will go to help TNR! We are so excited! Thank you Casbah Kittens! Their mom makes eco-friendly cat toys with organic cat nip! We bought some jelly beans and a cell phone yesterday, can't wait to play with them! Visit the store HERE!

The lady would like to thank all the wonderful friends who have purchased her zazzle products! You guys rock!

Oops, this post was posted early and we can't seem to fix it. Oh well!

What's Going On

Just a quick update this morning......
The spay/neuter clinic was a great success. In all, 11 cats were spayed/neutered! The lady has a post about it on her blog.

Maya still has a little blood in his stool, but not as much. After some research, the lady bought the supplement, L-Glutamine. L-Glutamine is an amino acid that helps heal the digestive tract. We hope this will help! Thanks for all the purrs for him, we appreciate each and every one!

This afternoon, Reilly and Sebastian go for their last booster vaccnines and the FIV/FeLV combo test. We are purring and purraying very hard for negative results so they can come out and join the rest of us until they find their forever homes.

Shapes Of Things

Maya and Chevelle went for their annual exams and vaccinations yesterday. They have both lost a few ounces, which is good! Chevelle weighed 12.9lbs and Maya weighed 10.8lbs. So the cutting back on the food is working, yay! Chevelle checked out purrfectly, teeth, eyes, ears, heart and lungs all good!
Maya on the other hand..... Maya just had his dental cleaning in March and already he has some tartar build up and what looks to be the start of a cavity! The vet said the pH level in his mouth is not good. We brush teeth pretty often, but he's just got bad teeth. He also has a cataract in his left eye, but the vet said it's pretty small and is probably not effecting his vision. Wednesday night I discovered blood in his stool and as you can imagine I was pretty freaked out, given what we went through with Cal earlier this year. The vet said to keep an eye on it for now and if it starts happening frequently or he starts vomiting and acting differently, we will proceed with further testing.

We wish everyone a very happy weekend! We'll be trapping for a big spay/neuter clinic on Sunday. Hoping the weather cooperates and so glad to see Hurricane Bill is staying away!

Galway Girl

On Saturday we all got to meet Saylor when the lady decided it was time to let her come out and explore for a little while. Saylor is fully recovered from the worms and yuckiness so it was safe for us to finally meet her. Most of us could have cared less and pretty much ignored her, but Chevelle hissed at her and wanted nothing to do with her.

Who likes her the most???? Maggie May! This shocked the servants who thought Maggie would cop a major torti-tude and try to whap her. Nope, they are bestest buds! They sleep on the big bed at night and stay upstairs all day and nap and play together. Next week, Saylor and all the rest of us, will get to meet Reilly and Sebastian after they go back to the vet for boosters and the combo test. We purray they will all find forever homes very soon!

Woodstock - Update

The man servant trapped this handsome fella while trying to get the momma cat on Saturday night. He named him Woodstock in honor of the 40th Anniversary coming up. The servants are hoping to get him in for a neuter appointment first thing this morning. They made his accommodations in the garage more comfortable by lashing 2 large traps together to give him more room. All the lady can say is, "Thank goodness it wasn't another kitten!"

****UPDATE****
Woodstock has been dropped off for his surgery this morning! Since Woodstock is a fully grown Mancat, he falls under the category of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) cat, meaning he will be neutered, vaccinated and ear tipped. He will then be in post-op for 24 hours and then released back to the shop where he was trapped.
The reason the kittens were kept and fostered is because they were too young for surgery at the time of their captures. The chances of recapturing them at the appropriate age would have been slim. The good thing is Woodstock will no longer be able to procreate and will be less likely to get into fights. And the lady will be sure to feed him everyday!
There is a big spay/neuter clinic this Sunday, so the lady and man will be trying very hard Sebastian and Reilly's mom and Saylor's mom!

Tired Eyes

Shew.......What a week!
We are so glad it's Friday!
It's been a pretty trying time at work for the lady this week. She is glad to see the weekend come. We're glad too because that means she will be home waiting on us paw and paw!

~~GOOD NEWS~~Saylor is doing terrific! She is no longer lethargic from the worms and coccidia and her protruding rectum is getting better! She is a little ball of floof, energy and purrs. And she still loves getting baths, weird huh?
Oh, our lady servant won another Today's Best Award at her Zazzle store. This red ribbon was given for her Pink Cal Peek-a-Boo Poster!

One Thing Leads To Another

Maggie May went to the vet on Tuesday and she's in perfect health with knee caps in place, yay! This was her first ever annual visit with vaccinations. She weighed in at 8lbs and is in perfect body condition! She was such a good girl during the car ride and at the office.
The new black foster kitten has a name, it's Saylor! She also had a vet appointment on Tuesday. Saylor has a few issues going on at the moment. She was heavily infested with spirometra tapeworms, roundworms and she also tested positive for coccidia. On top of that, she has a protruding rectum that was caused by the infestation. This requires the lady to keep the area moist with a solution and also some ointment. If it gets worse, she may need surgery. We're keeping our paws crossed!! She is loving life as a spoiled kitten and has her very own room while she is recovering.

Sweet Thing

Mancat Monday on a Tuesday
The Lady would like to thank everyone for stopping by and checking out her store. She also wants everyone to know that if they bought something... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, but zazzle doesn't provide her with buyer information, so she is unable to thank you personally. Thank you!!
Since it's Mancat Monday, I mean Tuesday, Ferris wanted to show pictures of him doing something very mancatly......eating sweet corn! He hopped right up on the coffee table and snagged it off the man servant's plate as he and the lady were having an elegant (ha!) dinner on the couch in front of the TV. Ferris just loves him some sweet corn!
Oh and one more thing...... Congrats to Milo and Alfie for winning Baby Patches Surfin Safari Contest and for donating their prize to the homeless kitties in the shelter! Congrats to the runners up too!

Back In Black

***We interrupt our regularly scheduled Mancat Monday post for some important news***
Meet our newest foster kitten, yet to be named. Our man servant did a marathon trapping session Saturday night/Sunday morning to try to get Reilly and Sebastian's mom. He set the traps and checked them about every hour. When he checked the traps at around 1:30am, this is what he found! He continued to check the set traps until 9am on Sunday morning, in the pouring rain, but momma cat never showed up.
This kitten is around 9-10 weeks, full of floof and sweet as can be! They had to give him/her a bath and the kitten actually purred the whole time and didn't try to escape the tub! What the? That's just not normal!

Anyway, the kitten's tummy is about 3 times the normal size and very tight.....a good sign of worms. So with the help of a friend, they de-wormed and de-flead (sp?) the kitten. They will be fostering it until a new foster or adoption family can be found......hopefully not long!
