Fabio and Shania

Shania
Fabio
Fabio and Shania's foster mom came by and picked them up last night. Shania is doing wonderful now-- eating and hardly any sneezing. Fabio, on the other hand, is still very congested, sneezing and being syringe-fed. Although, during our feeding yesterday afternoon, he started licking the syringe and spoon. That's the first interest he's shown in food in a few days now. I took it as a good sign and gave him lots of kisses on the head. I'm hoping he will get better very quickly because he already has 2 potential adopters dying to meet him!! Wonderful!

Shania and Fabio

Sunday is usually my visiting day. It's really the only chance during the week that I get to visit. I've been pretty busy today and didn't get a chance. My friend rescued these two cuties from the shelter and asked me to babycat sit for her while she drove 3 others all the way to a rescue in New Jersey. I got them on Friday night and will keep them until Wednesday. They are pretty sick with URIs and not eating much on their own, so you know what that means....... assist/force feeding. They are already doing better thanks to the wonder that is the nebulizer!

Catching Up With Gretchen and Farrah

Gretchen has been making wonderful progress! She lets me hold her AND she is coming out of the room during the day now. When I get up in the morning to feed, she is sitting on the steps with all the other kitties and when we come home for lunch she is usually laying on the couch.Farrah and her new brother

Christmas Photo Outtakes

Here are a few outtakes from our Christmas photo session......
Maggie May just didn't want to cooperate...... at all! Her tortitude was in full display!
Ziggy liked to flirt with Dixie during her photo session.
Ferris walked off the set due to an ill-fitting wardrobe.
Ziggy just couldn't sit still long enough... he must have had ants in his Christmas skirt.

I ordered some of Attie's Shmarshmallows from Attie's Nom Shop and they arrived on Saturday. They didn't last long at all and I've already placed a second order. I would describe Attie's Shmarshmallows as sweet little pillows from Heaven.

We'd also like to tell you guys about a great opportunity to get 10% off your order from buildasign.com. Pet bloggers can enter the promo code PETSRULE at checkout for the savings! You can design your own bumper stickers, magnetic signs, banners, decals, etc!

Just Like Cal

I've said it before, and I'll say it again..... Saylor is like a female Cal with long furs and a white beauty mark. This is exactly like something Cal would have done. In fact, I'm pretty sure he did this a time or two in his 10 years on Earth.

Here's Saylor furring up the Christmas gifts I bought on Saturday. I was shopping all day and got home just in time for the second half of the Duke game. I had to watch it upstairs, so I ran in, threw the bags on the counter and went upstairs to the bedroom. When I came back down about an hour later. This is what I found. Man, I love that cat!

The Grinch Who Stole Our Hearts and Farrah Update

Grinch was neutered on Tuesday and will be leaving us tomorrow to go to his rescue in Maryland. We are going to miss him so much. What a funny little character and sweet as can be! His new foster mom is really excited to finally meet him!
Here's little Farrah!! Wow, I've sure missed this little girl and so has my camera. As you can see she's still quite the little model! Her new mom says:

All is well and she's doing great! She is so much fun - we are all completely in love with her! I tried to send a video but it wouldn't work - I'll try again. But the video is
of her attacking our other cat - really funny - they play all the time and
also snuggle in my bed all night - they're great together. My daughter got a cute
photo this weekend of her and our dog Ben sleeping together by the front
door in the sun - I'll have her send it and I'll forward it.

LOVE IT!!!!

The Anti-Gravity WEB RUNNER

We were contacted by a company asking us to review a toy...... of course, I said YES! It sounded like lots of fun for the kitties. A remote controlled black widow spider that uses patent-pending air suction technology, allowing it to operate on the floor, walls and even upside-down! It's an Anti-Gravity WEB RUNNER by Fantasma Toys and it retails for $39.99 at Target, Amazon.com, RadioShack and Fantasma Magic Online Store.
I was so excited when the package arrived. After letting it charge for a bit, I turned it on and watched for the reactions from the cats. I thought the noise of the spider crawling would scare the cats, but it actually got their attention and drew them into the room. I found the wireless controller a tad challenging to navigate, but that's probably because the only remote control I am good at working, is the one to the TV. I couldn't find a way to keep the spider going straight, but the cats loved it when it went in circles. Maya was very intrigued and followed it all over the house and Ziggy liked to stalk it. Ferris on the other hand wanted to chew the legs off. Silly cat!I was very impressed by it's ability to run across the walls. I was afraid the suction noise would scare the cats off, but again, they didn't seem to notice or mind.

In all, we thought this toy was lots of fun and we'll be playing with it often!

Mr. Grinch

Meet our newest shelter foster kitten, Grinch! I don't know where he got his name...... he's definitely not a mean one :) I guess it's because of his amazingly loooong ear furs! Aren't they spectacular? He'll be with us until next Friday. He will be traveling to a rescue up North!! He's nursing a URI (of course!) but hopefully I can get a handle on it before it gets too bad.

Gretchen's Big Night Out

Saturday night, Gretchen decided to come out and roam the house. She went in every room! She enjoyed laying under our bed the most. Not sure Maggie May liked that very much, but there was no hissing or fighting. Things are going very well!
