Build A Bug!

We made insects with food items and then got to eat them. The kids had such a great time making sure that their insects had all its body parts.

Insect Measurement

We used plastic insects to compare length. We placed the insects in order from tallest to shortest. Then the students illustrated their own insects and used link cubes to measure them. Last, we compared the length on our insect to our friends insect and identified which insect was taller or shorter.

Butterlfy Measurement

We are learning about insects in Science, so to begin our math unit on measurement we found out how many butterflies tall we are. Then we compared our height to our friends height and identified who was taller or who was shorter. The recording sheet came from Deanna Jump's Insect unit that can be purchased online through TPT.

Grouchy Ladybug

We read The Grouchy Ladybug and illustrated and wrote about what make us grouchy. These always come out so cute and make me laugh.

                  We feel grouchy when....
we have to go to musc.
they yell at me in my socr gms.
mom put watr on my fas.
my mom owas max me eat.
                     her sisted taxs my lalepop.
                            the TV is loud.

Then for math that day we created a ladybug and used the spots to create an addition problem.
