Possessing the attribute of "Steel", it is one of the legendary Ten Warriors Digimon that saved the ancient Digital World. An Ultimate who existed only in the distant past, it is the wisest person in the Digital World. Due to the Akashic Records which record all of the excellent intellects of ancient times, it is said that there is nothing which Ancient Wisemon doesn't know. It is a sage that possesses the knowledge of the distant past, but can also forecast the distant future. Also, it is said that Ancient Wisemon's mirror body is connected to the spirit world (another universe). Ancient Wisemon's abilities were later passed on to the "Mutation Digimon". Its Special Moves are calculating the coordinates to the spirit world with ultimate wisdom and imprisoning the opponent for eternity in that separate universe (Laplace no Ma), and summoning the ultimate evil god from that universe (Elder Sign).

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

Ancient Wisemon is the true form of the Father of Shinjuku, a fortune-teller Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan meet in a sidequest of the same name. He sends them on a quest to find four lost Digimon who had been transported from the Digital World to the Real World (Gaomon, Lalamon, Pukamon and Nanomon). After finding all four, he reveals his true identity to the Agent (though never leaves his human disguise), then gives them a reward for their efforts and returns to the Digital World. He then can be found sitting at the Threshold Theater's bar in his original form.

The Agent sends the Royal Knight, Craniummon, to get his fortune read by the Father of Shinjuku in the side mission "Knowing One's Strength". The Agent meets with both Digimon in human disguises in the Father of Shinjuku's coffee shop. There, Craniummon was told to go to Subroad and talk to a man eating a crepe (in reality, Imperialdramon: Fighter Mode in human disguise) to find out just how useful its power truly was.

Ancient Wisemon is an Ultimate-level, Virus-type Digimon of the Enlightened personality. It evolves from Wisemon if its Intelligence is 3100 or higher, its Spirit is 2090 or higher, and the player's Agent Rank is 7 or higher. The stat requirements can be cut by up to 4.71x through certain Agent Skills. Its signature skills are Laplace no Ma (105 damage Null magic attack to one foe; increased damage against foes with the Unknown gene) and Elder Sign (80 damage Null magic attack to all foes; 50% chance of inflicting Immobilization; 70% chance of reducing foe's defense by 20% for 3 turns; increased damage against foes with the Holy gene). It is weak to Plant and Wind, and resists Steel and Null.
