Cool Boy is a character in various media.
He was originally used in promotional material for Digimon Chronicle and the Digital Monster Card Game, teaching Doumoto Kouta and Musha Yuuji how to play the Digital Monster Card Game. He's included in the cover art for three X-Antibody-themed starter deck products including the Omegamon Purge Deck, the Yggdrasil Deck, and the X-Combo Deck.
An adult version of Cool Boy appeared in Digimon Liberator with Omekamon as his partner in which he is operations manager of the Digimon Liberator video game and is the overseer of the Game Masters.
Profile[edit]
Not one person has ever seen him lose his cool, hence the name.
As the former chief engineer and the current operations manager of Digimon Liberator, he occasionally steps into the field as the overseer of the Game Masters. He discovered the complexly fused virtual space LACUNA, which maps the real world, and used its source code to create the foundation of the Liberator system. Due to his extensive desk work, his login rate is not high.
Development[edit]
According to Moriyama Soh, the original plan was for Cool Boy to appear in the Digimon Chronicle manga as Musha Yuuji's older brother, but this was dropped and as such he only ever appeared in promotional material and not Chronicle itself.[2]
Deck[edit]
Cool Boy uses a Royal Knights deck[N 1] that includes the following cards:
The deck also has at three other unspecified Royal Knight cards, as they were under Yggdrasill_7D6 as evolution sources (or two, if one of them was another Dukemon). As shown in DEBUG.24-2, Cool Boy also owns at least one BT19-042 Dynasmon (X-Antibody), but it isn't part of his main deck.
Card Game Evolution[edit]
- Any Digimon that also Evolves from non-White Tamers from the Digimon Card Game[N 5]
- Kaiser Greymon[3]
- Magna Garurumon[4]
- Susanoomon[5]

Digimon Chronicle[edit]
Cool Boy only appears in promotional material, as a "cool boy" that teaches Doumoto Kouta and Musha Yuuji how to play the Digital Monster Card Game.
Digimon Liberator[edit]
Cool Boy plays the Digimon Liberator video game with Omekamon as his partner. He is operations manager of the game and is the overseer of the Game Masters. Some time ago, he made a deal with Unchain to save the Digimon from a catastrophic event, but he knew that Unchain secretly planned to do it in the most nefarious manner possible, so he pretended to go along while secretly finding ways to sabotage him. Both Cool Boy and Unchain are actively attempting to sabotage each other.
Kazama Shoto and Kinosaki Arisa got involved with Cool Boy when they ran into some abnormal phenomenon while playing the game, so they went to consult a Game Master. However, all of the GMs are absent aside of Cool Boy, so they had no option but to meet him. Cool Boy gives them some warnings before sending them back out to LACUNA. A week after Arisa defeats Violet Inboots, he asks Shoto and Arisa to return to his office, and reveals that he was interested in recruiting them to the debug team because of their ownership of unique Digimon, and introduces Yao Qinglan to them. He then brings them to the world below Lacuna and gives them exposition of the world's workings. Shoto initially turns down Cool Boy's recruitment offer, but after running into and being mocked by his estranged childhood friend Owen Dreadnought, he decides to duel Yao and join the debug team. Shoto ends up victorious and him and Arisa (who unknowingly defeated Violet Inboots as a debug team member) were inaugurated into the Digimon Liberator debug team.
At the start of the Imperialdramon: Dragon Mode (Black) attack, Unchain lied to Cool Boy that they will be finding Shoto, who was not present to fight. In actuality, only Unchain went to find Shoto and they thrown Cool Boy into Cross Connectia to find Dalphomon for them to use. This incident went beneath Yao and the other debug team member's notice, and Yao suspects that Unchain kidnapped him. She located Cool Boy in Cross Connectia and sets the Debug Team on an adventure to find him back. After a long and grueling search, Cool Boy made a deal with Dalphomon to confront Unchain and Metatromon and reunites with the rest of the Debug Team. Cool Boy escapes to the Digital World and arrives in time alongside Dalphomon during Unchain's attack. Dalphomon is quickly absorbed by Metatromon and they become Ex Maquinamon, the "Digimon Liberator" capable of rewriting and fusing worlds. But Dalphomon was actually harboring a trojan horse than rewrites Unchain's programming into those of a standard NPC, preventing them from rejecting any duel request, allowing the Debug Team to delay and stop them as long as they can take out all of the Maquinamon they released and go close to them.
When confronting Unchain and Ex Maquinamon, his Digimon partner Omekamon reveals itself to be an Omegamon (X-Antibody) that is hidden under an Omekamon model texture in "DIGIMON / LIBERATOR (Part 2)". Omegamon (X-Antibody) is shown fighting Unchain and the Maquinamon alongside the other Debug Team member's Digimon to distract them enough for an opening for Shoto and Owen to duel them.
Novel[edit]
Digimon Liberator[edit]
Kazuki Suzune sought Cool Boy to tell him about the possible traitor situation in "GODDESS FROM THE ICE AGE", but stopped herself from telling him as he was talking to Unchain, who Suzune didn't trust.
