Kudou Taiki, also translated as Kudo Taiki, is the lead protagonist of Digimon Xros Wars, and one of the protagonists of Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time.
Profile[edit]
Taiki is an extremely caring and athletic person who tries his best to help out anyone who asks or who looks like they need his help. He does this to the point of pushing himself to exhaustion or just endangering himself in general. He's shown to believe in the best in others, including his rivals and those that would be his enemies. He is an excellent strategist, coming up with plans on the fly, and often deceiving opponents with cheap tricks and disguises. In Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time, he ends up taking more of an exasperated mentor roll to the other Hunters.

Digimon Xros Wars & The Evil Death General and the Seven Kingdoms[edit]
Taiki, as well as friend Hinomoto Akari and self-proclaimed rival Tsurugi Zenjirou, was drawn into the Digital World by the call of a dying Shoutmon. Once there, he met the newly-revived Shoutmon, Ballistamon and the other residents of Green Zone. Though initially wary of helping Shoutmon achieve his goal of becoming the Digimon King out of concerns of Shoutmon wanting the title out of mere greed, he relented upon learning of the Bagra Army and of Shoutmon's intention to claim the title to protect his people.
Digimon Xros Wars: The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time[edit]
One year later, Taiki has assembled a small street basketball team after school, named Xros Heart after his army; it's comprised of himself, Amano Yuu and Akashi Tagiru.
Originally, Taiki did not have any access to his digimon while in DigiQuartz because all of his army was still in the Digital World. However, Wisemon managed to create a machine to transfer some of his friends from the Digital World directly to his Xros Loader, including his partner Shoutmon. Rather than hunting like Tagiru and the others, Taiki wants to help as many Digimon as he can.

Digimon Xros Wars DIGIMON EXPO'25 Reading Drama[edit]
Taiki showed up after Akashi Tagiru realized other Digimon Hunters had been called alongside himself and Amano Yuu. He was followed by Aonuma Kiriha, Shoutmon, Dorulumon and Hinomoto Akari, all of which said something about the situation. Tagiru then wondered why Tsurugi Zenjirou wasn't with them and Taiki and Akari answered, in perfect harmony, he was too much of a pain so they left him behind. Tagiru agreed with that but then wondered why Amano Nene wasn't there either. Yuu explained that, during their final battle, Kiriha had fought alongside legendary heroes that were all pretty girls, which left Nene in a sour mood. He then asked Kiriha to do something about it but Kiriha just bashfully asked him not to talk about his personal matters so lightly. Taiki said Kiriha was the type to be surrounded by girls, which annoyed him as Taiki was exactly that himself. However, Yuu pointed out that Taiki may attract women, but he had eyes only for his "main wife", Akari, and he came across as far more steady than Kiriha. Taiki was left shocked by that, Shoutmon pointed out Yuu's tongue had gotten even sharper since they last met, and Akari was extremely happy about being Taiki's "main wife", as Dorulumon pointed out. Kiriha felt no one took his side.
The Old Clock Shop Man then interrupted their conversation to explain the target of their hunt: the illusory Digimon, Sakuradamon. From his words, Taiki realized that meant Sakuradamon could cause lots of trouble, something that was proven true immediately as they heard an explosion coming from Jinbōchō. Said explosion was indeed caused by Sakuradamon, who then left towards Suidōbashi. Tagiru said they had to hunt it and Taiki called everyone to Super Evolve. As Tagiru Chikara! played, Tagiru, Yuu, Taiki and Kiriha super evolved their Partner Digimon (Gumdramon > Arresterdramon, Damemon > Tuwarmon, Shoutmon/Shoutmon (King Ver.) > Omega Shoutmon, Metal Greymon > Zeke Greymon). However, despite all attacking at once (including Dorulumon), they couldn't hurt Sakuradamon at all. Arresterdramon was attacked separatedly but was saved by Mervamon. Arresterdramon wondered where she came from and Akari pointed out she Reloaded her, as she had a Xros Loader of her own now and brought everyone's Digimon with her. Yuu pointed out that Nene giving Akari her Digimon meant she must be really mad at Kiriha, but Kiriha just asked him to postpone that conversation and called to Taiki, who himself told everyone to go for a Great Xros. Tagiru wondered if they could do it and the Old Clock Shop Man confirmed there were no restrictions on Reloading anymore as DigiQuartz had been eliminated. This made Tagiru realize that Taiki had had Shoutmon and Dorulumon out together all this time. Arresterdramon was overjoyed he got to DigiXros with his king. Taiki called everyone to give their power to Shoutmon. With WE ARE Xros Heart! (ver. X7) playing, Taiki (Omega Shoutmon, Ballistamon, Dorulumon), Kiriha (Zeke Greymon), Akari (Sparrowmon, Starmons, Mervamon), Yuu (Tuwarmon) and Tagiru (Arresterdramon) Great Xrossed their Digimon into Shoutmon X10. Tagiru was impressed by the new DigiXros and Yuu pointed out it was a shame they couldn't show the audience what it actually looked like. Shoutmon X10 then used his Tens Victorize which one-shot Sakuradamon, Taiki called Tagiru to capture it once it turned into data, and Tagiru did so. The Old Clock Shop Man then took Sakuradamon's data so it could be reborn as a Digitama in the future.
With the battle finished, Akari called everyone to go back to their time before Taiki pushed himself too hard and collapsed again. Taiki whined he was fine, but Shoutmon pointed out that only meant he wasn't. Shoutmon and Dorulumon apologised to the audience for the situation. Mervamon pointed out they may all meet again someday, which Taiki and Tagiru agreed with because the audience all loved Digimon.

Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Blue & Red[edit]
Taiki is the main playable character, whose army you control during the game as the protagonist.
Digimon Adventure[edit]
Four Chrysalimon appeared in a flash of light and surrounded Yagami Taichi, Agumon and Hackmon in Episode 72, "Shout! Omega Shoutmon". Taichi didn't know how they could escape with the wounded Hackmon. Taiki and Shoutmon then appeared and destroyed two of them, before asking Taichi and the rest if they were okay. Taiki and Shoutmon introduced themselves, the latter as the Digimon King, which confused Agumon, but Taiki thought it best to focus on getting out of there first. The group then escaped through the opening Shoutmon made.
Taiki and Omega Shoutmon then join the party as guests. Omega Shoutmon can't be controlled, has 9999 HP and infinite SP. He can deal multiple hits to one enemy with Hard Rock Damashii and Beat Slash, deal multiple hits to all enemies with Heavy Metal Vulcan, heal the entire party for 2000 HP with Giga Heal +, or increase the defense of one Digimon by two stages with DEF Charge Ω. He can take two actions per turn thanks to his Continuous Action support ability.
As they reached Area 2, Taichi taught Taiki about Gankoomon, the responsible for trapping them in the Digital Dungeon. Agumon added that Hackmon knew Gankoomon. Taiki said he had tried to gather information since they were sent to the Digital Dungeon, and thanks to Taichi and the rest he now had a good grasp of the situation. Taiki asked them to join forces to look for a way out which Taichi agreed with. Shoutmon pointed out they were now allied with Team Xros Heart, and Taiki explained it was the team name for all their friends. Shoutmon added that Taiki was their General who led them into battle. Taichi thought Shoutmon really liked Taiki and Shoutmon said that Taiki couldn't turn his back on those in need, which Taiki added angered Shoutmon sometimes.
The black shadow once again appeared in Area 3, taking the form of Omega Shoutmon. Shoutmon was angered he was copied. Taiki told him not to let his guard down, then they fought. After defeating his copy, Shoutmon exclaimed that was the power of the real Digimon King and Taichi praised Agumon. Taichi said they'd split up now and thanked Taiki for his help, which Taiki returned. Shoutmon was worried for Hackmon, who still couldn't talk, but Agumon told him to leave him to them. Before splitting up, Taiki told Taichi that another person had come with them and asked Taichi to take care of him if they met, and he'd help him in return. Taichi's group then left. Said person was Akashi Tagiru, who forgot about Taiki.
The protagonists met once again in Episode 74, "Everyone Unite! The Final Battle". They reunited because they heard about Gankoomon and Hackmon. Kanbara Takuya pointed out a lot happened but it wasn't the time to deal with it and Daimon Masaru apologised to him for attacking him earlier. Taiki pointed out their first priority was to deal with this. However, a quake suddenly hit the Digital Dungeon, followed by the appearance of two Diablomon and a Keramon. Taichi realized they wouldn't get to the spatial core so easily. Masaru proposed them all to break in at once, Taiki thought they should conserve their energy, Matsuda Takato proposed to split into pairs but Taichi pointed out they wouldn't make it in time like that. Motomiya Daisuke told Taichi to just go ahead and Takuya recognized him as their leader. Hackmon told Taichi to pick who should go with them. If the player refuses every choice, Taichi won't be able to pick, and Hackmon will hurry him up to do it.
After stopping the spatial core, upon regaining consciousness, Hackmon found himself back in the normal Digital Dungeon, surrounded by the protagonists. He asked them what happened to the spatial control core. Agumon told him everything was fine and the copies were gone. Gankoomon then arrived and praised everyone. The Chosen Children were ready to go back to their own worlds, each with their own thoughts. Gankoomon granted them a reward: to face them, as a Royal Knight. After a harsh fight, the team won, with Hackmon being gladly surprised they did. Gankoomon wondered if that was the power of humans allied with Digimon. Hackmon and Gankoomon agreed they still had a lot of training to do. Taichi asked Gankoomon if they could finally go home. Gankoomon said yes, but added they would lose all memories they got in the Digital Space upon leaving it, since if they kept those memories from a space that existed beyond space-time, it would disturb the order of the Digital Field. Hackmon thought it was a shame since they just got to know each other, but the protagonists accepted it, if not without regrets, with Taiki and Tagiru feeling they'd meet again. They all then promised to do so, before finally separating.
