After Koshiro and Tentomon found Whamon, Nanomon sent Gran Kuwagamon after them. The Ultimate Digimon was more than a match for Atlur Kabuterimon, but was easily defeated alongside its master once he evolved into Herakle Kabuterimon.

Hiragana Digimon: A Tale of the Royal Knights[edit]
Gran Kuwagamon arrived and demanded Sleipmon tell him about the secret in the ruins in Episode 3, "A Beetle Appears". In response, Sleipmon told him he wouldn't let anyone near the ruins and defeated and froze him with a single Odin's Breath. Wanyamon wanted to catch Gran Kuwagamon despite how small his net was in comparison, to Dynasmon's confusion. Then, in "A Bright Idea", Dynasmon whispered to Gran Kuwagamon another Digimon knew the secret he was searching for. Gran Kuwagamon left to investigate the clue, leaving Wanyamon to wonder where he was going. Dynasmon gave him a telescope and pointed him to Examon, as Gran Kuwagamon was now heavily slowed down thanks to the gigantic Digimon. Dynasmon told Wanyamon to feel free to observe him as he was basically captured now, which Sleipmon disagreed with. As of "How to Catch a Dragonfly", Gran Kuwagamon is still slowed down by Examon alongside Ulforce V-dramon.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]
A horde of insect Titans, led by a Gran Kuwagamon, attacked Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan, Misono Inori and Aegiomon as they travelled to Guardian Palace on Locomon. After fighting through its lackeys (Kuwagamon, Kabuterimon, Flymon and Snimon) with constant DigiAttacks, the Agent managed to drive Gran Kuwagamon off Locomon with another DigiAttack, letting Locomon ram it and send it flying. However, Gran Kuwagamon was only mildly hurt by this and attacked the Agent's party after they arrived at Guardian Palace.
Gran Kuwagamon is the first boss of "War!". As it was hit by a DigiAttack and Locomon before the battle, it starts it with some damage. It starts the battle with Triple Actions. Other than normal attacks, it can use Dimension Scissor and Wind Claw II. It is also affected by Confusion, Paralysis and their advanced variants. After some turns, Junomon will attack Gran Kuwagamon from outside the battle, dealing approximately 100% of its current HP worth of damage, up to the 99999 damage cap (instantly killing it in most difficulties). Note that Junomon cannot instantly kill Gran Kuwagamon on the Super Ultimate difficulty as its HP exceeds 99999 there, so the player has to kill it manually and a proper setup is now required.
During the side mission "Find a Lead Vocalist!", the Agent and Duftmon found Tonosama Gekomon, who they were looking for, under attack by a Titan Gran Kuwagamon who terrified him, so Duftmon decided to take the Gran Kuwagamon down alongside the Agent.
Gran Kuwagamon is the boss of the side mission "Find a Lead Vocalist!". Other than normal attacks, it can use Dimension Scissor.
Gran Kuwagamon is also an obtainable Digimon. It evolves from Dinobeemon, Jyureimon, or Okuwamon.
