A Holy Knight Digimon which is one of the Digital World's sacred guardians, the "Royal Knights". As it is a Digimon which possesses an extraordinary data size, traditional digital tools were unable to completely render it, and its existence was discovered because it finally became possible to render it with the use of state-of-the-art digital tools. Though it belongs to the Royal Knights, it is simultaneously a being which stands at the top of all Dragon Digimon, and holds the alias of "Dragon Emperor". It possesses the gigantic, sentient wings "Caledfwlch" and the gigantic lance "Ambrosius". The Caledfwlch is a unique set of wings composed entirely of Chrome Digizoid, and at Caledfwlch's own will, it can at times change into wings for flight, or into a shield which defends Examon. The lance "Ambrosius" is loaded with special shells stocked with viruses which possess various effects, so Examon's attacks are quite diverse. Its Special Moves are stabbing the opponent with the Ambrosius and exploding all of its special shells, annihilating them from within (Avalon's Gate), and rocketing up to the exosphere and conducting a high-powered laser firing (Pendragon's Glory). Also, its "Dragonic Impact", in which it dives from the exosphere and performs a ramming attack shrouded in heat from friction with the atmosphere, mops up swaths of enemies with its accompanying shock wave.

Digimon Xros Wars: The Evil Death Generals and the Seven Kingdoms[edit]

Voice Actor: Japanese Canna Nobutoshi | English Christopher Smith

Examon is a member of the chivalric order of Digimon that became the DigiMemories. His DigiMemory, along with that of War Greymon, had been stranded floating in Digital Space following the order's defeat and shattering of the Digital World. In "Bagra Brothers, The Bond of Darkness!", Examon and War Greymon call out from their DigiMemories to Hinomoto Akari and Tsurugi Zenjirou when Bagramon begins the petrification of the Real World, and instruct the two to grab onto the DigiMemories, which are embedded in the barrier between the Real World and Digital Space, to protect themselves from being petrified. Later, when Akari and Zenjirou reunite with Kudou Taiki and his allies in "Approach! The Human World's Last Day, D5!!", Examon and War Greymon manifest as holograms to speak with the group. As they explain in "Glorious DigiXros, Seize it! Our Future!!", their DigiMemories had inadvertently gotten caught on Tactimon when he traveled to the Real World, but had then gotten stuck in the barrier between the Real World and Digital Space, preventing them from intervening in events until Akari and Zenjirou found them. They and the other DigiMemories awaken Omegamon's DigiMemory, and the fifteen DigiMemories exhaust their powers to assist Taiki in entering the Dark Stone to save Shoutmon. When the Code Crown chooses Taiki over Bagramon, Examon, along with all the other DigiMemory Digimon, is returned to life, and he contributes to the formation of Shoutmon X7: Superior Mode.

Digimon Chronicle X[edit]

Hiragana Digimon: A Tale of the Royal Knights[edit]

Examon makes a cameo in the title page of Episode 1 alongside the rest of the Royal Knights.

Examon makes a proper appearance in Episode 3. Wanyamon saw Examon flying in the sky in "Examon". However, Dynasmon warned him not to get too close as his mass was so enormous that time slowed down for everything around him. Dynasmon added that was the theory of relativity, but couldn't explain it when Wanyamon asked him to and just offered to do so at another time. In "Bright Idea", Dynasmon tricked Gran Kuwagamon into getting close to Examon, trapping him in the slowdown so Wanyamon could observe him like a fly. He did it again, this time to Ulforce V-dramon, in "To Catch a Dragonfly", this time with the excuse of getting Examon's autograph, and calling Ulforce V-dramon a "beetle" to Wanyamon afterwards.

Examon flew over Dynasmon and Wanyamon at the end of Episode 4, "Complete".

Digimon Liberator[edit]

In "RODS FROM GOD", Examon is used as a Digimon too enormous to depict at a faithful scale in Digimon Liberator as it would risk destabilizing the Liberator servers, or even the very environment of Lacuna itself.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger[edit]

Examon is one of the Royal Knights who is known as the Dragon Emperor. Yggdrasill sends Yuki Dan/Yuki Kanan to find them and get them to their rendezvous point in Central Town in the side mission "Royal Knights, Assemble!".

Unlike the other Royal Knights, Examon did arrive at the rendezvous point. However, it had become much smaller as a response to being called too big, to the point the rest couldn't see or hear it. As this had become an issue, it asked the Agent to help it return to its original size in the side mission "The Call of the Unseen" by using a recovery medicine that promoted growth. The Agent took Examon to Venusmon in her house in the Abyss Area who also failed to notice Examon at first, to the point she couldn't actually use the medicine on it, so she just scattered it. The medicine partially worked, making Examon big enough for Venusmon to finally see it. While it was still tiny, the medicine seemed to have a continuous effect, so Examon wanted to move to a larger place. Venusmon followed as she wanted to see the medicine's effect.

Outside the house, Examon kept growing bigger, now being around the same size as the Agent. Then, a group formed of a Herakle Kabuterimon and a duo of Kuwagamon who intended to bully Examon because they were bigger showed up. Venusmon recognized them as remnants of the Titans and ordered them to leave but Herakle Kabuterimon refused and even threatened them with more of their kin showing up. Examon was not scared and, in fact, wanted to make them pay, even if it meant fighting in its smaller form and far from full strength. Venusmon thanked it and decided to join the fight as well. During the fight, Examon can use Crush Blade III.

After the fight, Examon returned to its original, massive size, and it was happy about it despite the efforts it took to become small. Both Examon and Venusmon were also surprised by how strong the Titan remnants were. This made Examon realize it needed to work harder so it decided to return to the rendezvous spot. Before it did, however, Venusmon told it its original size suited it best, which made it bashful.
