Shane’s attitude was hard to take for a long period of time. He has poor self esteem because of his scars and no matter the evidence to the contrary he couldn’t really accept when Dustin told him how attractive he was and that weared after a while, same for Dustin has his attitude about his ADD. There’s only so much woe is me I can handle before it gets old. Moving beyond that I enjoyed the men together and the rodeo backdrop.
Dustin was spazzy and cute and I liked his master plan but some of his opinions on bottoming were odd. I’m glad that didn’t play out longer than it did. Shane was kind and honorable and I enjoyed his interactions with his family.
I liked that we got alternating POV’s here. It really helped balanced things out for me and I needed to see where the guys were in their thoughts about each other. I don’t think I would have liked it as much if it had been one sided.
I’m kind of curious about a secondary couple that showed up part way through the read, Darrin and Mitch, I investigated and saw that they have their own book, Wrangler Butts. I’ll be reading that one because their story interested me.

This story follows the relationship of Jenson and Mike over the years. Sometimes they're together and other times they're not but always they remain friends. I thought this was gorgeous read. I couldn't put it down and there were several times where it was so emotional that I found myself weeping. I was frustrated with both main characters quite often but that didn't stop me from loving this story, it just made me appreciate how human the men were with their flaws. These aren't perfect guys by any long shot but they are perfect for each other. The journey it took to get to their HEA was worth every tear.
I do have a question for the author, what happened to Ricky? I thought he and Mike were good friends so that I thought we would've at least seen him a couple more times down the road. Did I read it so fast that I missed some of the story?
This is an angsty beautifully written love story between friends who over the years are disappointed with each other but never stop relying on what's a grounding relationship for them both. Their HEA is tarnished but I found it stronger for the trials and richer for the fight it took to get them there. ...more

Stormy skies for our Aussie and Texan on the Sutton Station. I could say that many a time here I wanted to smack Charlie upside his stubborn head because he made a lot of assumptions about Travis and their relationship. He did learn along the way and because it's only been six months since Travis showed up so I cut him some slack.
I enjoyed the development of their relationship quite a bit. The men still have wonderful chemistry and if I had a quibble it would be that I would love a Travis POV at some point in the next book. This ones ends well with no cliffhanger which is lovely, although I could see what the setup for book 3 could be with the hints we had here.

I liked the set up and the characters and I would really enjoy something extended because I have a soft spot for stories about ranch/farm housekeepers and cooks.
I loved Troy's inner voice, he had me laughing with his antics and Cliff was a wonderfully stoic rancher looking for a housekeeper and finding love. They were a great pair and I enjoyed the writing. Sweet read but light on the smexy times, sadly. ...more

I loved Sage and I only wanted good things for him because he deserved it. This was very instalovey but the development of the men's relationship moved beyond that to a very layered and sweet commitment. There was great chemistry here and some lovely secondary characters but also a few very transparent villains that dragged the story into a melodramatic slog. Still, it was all worth it to see something good happen for Sage and even though I liked Adam I was more invested in Sage's journey. Sweet read. ...more

I didn't think it was possibleI enjoyed the first book in this series quite a bit and while the sequel was enjoyable it didn't quite match up for me. I didn't think it was possible for Joe to feel more familial pressure but he does...almost crippling pressure. There were a lot of situations here where I felt Joe needed to step back and reassess with lesser expectations put on himself. I do love where the story ended up but there were times where I wondered if this was going to be the Empire Strikes Back of the series but thankfully there was no cliffhanger.
The story of these two men is definitely pushed forward here. Sometimes in good ways and sometimes in a hurtful ways which, I guess, is life. It's not all puppies and Christmas.
Austin remains adorable and I am looking forward to the next book but this definitely was a somber read for me. ...more

I desperately needed to know what was going to happen between Matty and Rob but I also desperately needed some sleep because I work today. It was a struggle to not skip to the ending so I could get a bit of closure and grab a few winks but I resisted and managed to both finish the story and grab a bit of sleep last night. I'll be paying for it later but I have no regrets, it's one of the reasons that I love reading so much, finding stories that just won't let me quit them.
Matty Marcus is a figure skater. He's flamboyant, he's fabulous, and he's an elite athlete attempting to come back after a disastrous Olympic games and an injury. He needs to hire a new coach and in order for him to do that he needs money and he needs the freedom to train. He lands a cherry job of house-sitting for a patron in the wilds of Montana and the isolation will hopefully help him focus on the job at hand.
Rob Lovely owns a ranch just across the pasture. He's the boy next door who isn't the boy next door. He's a Dom and he helps Matty focus in an entirely different and fun way.
I'm not quite sure what it is about this book that enthralled me so much. The humour was wonderful. I started reading this at work last night and had a goofy grin whenever I came back from my breaks thinking of the exchanges between Matty and his best friend Elliot. They had me laughing so much. Matty is who is he and proud of it and the way his mind works was a joy to read.
The BDSM is integral to this story. It's not hardcore enough to scare away someone unfamiliar with the kink (well, maybe one scene is) but as a reader you need to be aware that's a prevalent aspect in the relationship between Rob and Matty. They gave a lot to each other and what they had I found beautiful. They always knew it was going to end so when that happened and the house-sitting gig was over it was devastating.
Just how will a relationship between a Montana cowboy and NYC Olympic figure skater work out? I recommend you grab this one to find out. It's a gorgeous story filled with characters that leap out from the pages to tell their story but it's not all puppies and Christmas. It's good with the bad, happy with the sad and kiss with the cry. I loved it and I want you all to read it so we can talk about it. ...more

I saw the cover and title and without reading the blurb figured it for a western of some kind. This is thriller sci-fi all the way that's riddled with an intense manhunt from start to finish.
It has jumping POV's: aliens, military, mobsters, cowboys but it never once seems a gratuitous literary gimmick. It works. It works so well. I loved being in everyone's head and it made this story rich and layered. It never once felt jumpy or disjointed.
System Six/McClane is an alien military armour and weapons AI. He heartily dislikes his host and refuses to fully bond with him. In searching for a way to save himself from destruction he screws with the navigation system of the ship. That throws it far of course and accidentally causes it to crash land in the Texas desert almost on top of a US Military exercise.
One firefight later we have a desperate alien looking for a ride out of the mess it's made. Hello Riley Cooper, cowboy extraordinaire, a man on the run from his Russian mobster boyfriend and goons. Riley literally stumbles over System Six and so begins a beautiful partnership that starts out a tad hitchhiker from hell but mellows out over a shared love of nachos, cold beer and orgasms.
This is intense and fun and had me on the edge of my seat. I won't spill the beans about the romance but it rocked my world. It turned out in a way that I never expected it would and I love that it surprised me.
