Dan left his life on the farm but in the escaping, things got a bit too real and gritty. He literally falls at the feet of Tyler, a military sniper, who is trying to piece his own self together in a backwoods cabin.
This is a story of two men whose lives are on hold that come together and really act as cataysts for each other to kickstart and maybe actually start living instead of just existing.
Dan may be young but he's no pushover. I really loved that about him. I loved that he held his own with the very dominant but vulnerable Tyler. He's no cipher here but a strong MC working through his own issues as he helps Tyler work through his demons.
Tyler is that stoic, grumpy wounded warrior type but layered with insecurity and battling some hardcore PTSD. No quick fixes here and I liked that even though it's grim it never feels hopeless.
These are well matched men despite the age difference. Wonderfully hot chemistry here and while this ends with a HFN it's a very positive and hopeful one that has me rushing off to get the sequel Wintergreen. Recommended! ...more

While I can forgive that for Parker because of his nativity and relative youth it was a lot harder to give Ivan a pass.
Ivan has been shoved undercover after an extremely intense and disturbing drug bust. I don't know if he was thrown off his game because of those events but his undercover op was riddled with issues. I did enjoy the chemistry between the MC's but I found I was more frustrated with how they just didn't clear things up with a simple conversation.
The bad guy here is pretty obvious as soon as he hits the page so that took a bit of the fun out of this one as I just waited for the cop to catch up. Still it was nice to see Kurt and Davy as well as Rick from the previous book. Nice read but a bit unrealistic both in terms of storyline and characters. ...more

This is a short story about Natalie, a woman on holiday at a resort when the apocalpse arrives. People being hit with infection are dying and turning into zombies attacking and turning other people. She's been hiding out and manages to connect with another survivor, Angus, a much younger Australian Football League player. Yum.
Some nice zombie action mixed in with the sexy times. Ends a bit abruptly and it's more of an erotica short than anything else. I'll be picking up the longer zombie book she has out which has unrelated characters but set in the same post-apocalyptic world of Australia. I love the concept.

I loved how Aiden was there all through this prodding at Jeremy. Teaching him and being his friend and kicking his ass when he needed it. Will of iron indeed.
I loved this book. I loved the overlapping story from book one. I'm not sure how book two fits into this series or if it's connected only through the knitting theme but I'm waiting on book 3 and the story of Johnny and Stanley. ...more

This is not so much a romance as it is a mystery and it was so much fun to read it and try to determine what was happening at the Alton Estate. It's very different from the usual M/M books I've been reading lately, there's an attraction between the MC's but the focus is definitely more on the solving of the mystery.
Excellent story here with crazy cast of characters that could populate any whodunnit, there's was a very Christie feel to it. If I had a quibble about the story it would be:
(view spoiler)[That Nick's attitude towards Perry was kind of shitty and the revelation that he was gay just kind of came out of nowhere. (hide spoiler)]
This is a read that really makes you work to find the solution to the mystery. Interesting, quirky characters and a subtle, sweet romance. Recommended! ...more

Mike Graham is a Train4.5
I really enjoyed this book. So well written with realistic characters and situations that it just drew me in from the start.
Mike Graham is a Training Officer (TO), he mentors rookies and is one the more seasoned cops that takes these young recruits on the streets to show them more than just the theory of being a cop but the reality of it.
Nathan York is a former rookie (boot) of Mike's who is now his partner. There is still that lingering dynamic of the older/younger sensei/grasshopper feel to their relationship but on the whole they're well matched to hit the mean streets as a team.
Things start changing when Mike, who has been in the closet for years, starts to fantasize about his younger partner. It's how Nate chooses to respond to this that really amps things up between them.
For me, it was definitely the mix of the gritty, realistic police calls and environment mixed with the battle these two men are fighting. There's a great balance of dark and light here and chemistry is very believable and at times smoking hot. It's about first times but definitely more than a gay for you story. The journey that Nate takes is a logical one and while he may be incredibly accepting of the changes in his life and attitude it never comes across as easy or manipulative.
My only wish would have to been more in the head of the characters when the angst went down, especially Nate, but that's a minor quibble. This was a fantastic read. Morgan is a new author and on my radar. Really looking forward to more from him. Highly recommended both for lovers of cop stories and those readers that love some gritty realism mixed in with their romance.

He has a secret though, he loves his boss but because of a past lover is content to admire from afar without getting involved in any kind of romance.
Out of the blue Webber invites Tristan on a working holiday. They have a few weeks to sort out their feelings for each other and redefine their relationship.
This is a hard one to classify. It's probably the most romantic M/M that I've ever read. That has good points to it and bad ones, tbh. Good in that it was a sweet read with likeable characters and a pretty angst light storyline, bad in that the characters and storyline felt a bit artifical to me. Can a story be too romantic? I sound like such a scrooge but while this was a cute, gentle read it just wasn't really to my taste.
If you're in the mood for a super sweetly romantic M/M then this would be an excellent choice.

Evan needs someone to play pool. Vic, Drew's brother, is a screw-up and Evan takes advantage of that to get Drew to play a tournament for him.
For such a short story this has an incredible amount of heart. I really loved it. Drew's parents are horrible and treat him like dirt yet continually ask him to bail out either themselves or his brother.
Evan, for all his wheeling and dealing, is not what I expected at all. Drew isn't the only one who was surprised when the door opened.
Lots of chemistry between Evan and Drew. Lots of family angst here as well. Great read!...more

The whole avian shifters idea is interesting as is the heirarchy that they've created within the society. It's not really touched on with too much detail but I think mundane people are aware of the shifters but how mundanes and shifters interact is pretty much a mystery.
I wish I could have read about Ori realizing that he was a shifter but, it jumps all that initial identification process to the point where he's existing in the nest at the bottom of the heap. Used and abused and just waiting for his full shift to reveal his species which will lead to more use and abuse. Poor bastard.
In walks Raynard, a hawk shifter with an eye for a sweet submissive. The relationship that develops between Ori and Raynard really works. They have great chemistry together, it's the world-building that just didn't quite work for me:
(view spoiler)[Are there no other swans around? Women? How do they reproduce? Are there male only and female only nests? So many questions... (hide spoiler)]

What a delightful surprise this book was for me. Josh Carpenter is a glassblower who was recently dumped by his boyfriend, forcing him4.5
Loved this.
What a delightful surprise this book was for me. Josh Carpenter is a glassblower who was recently dumped by his boyfriend, forcing him to move into a small attic conversion to make ends meet. Once moved in he begins crushing on his downstairs neighbors Rai Nakamura and Evan Truman. Rai and Evan are an established couple who occasionally invite a third to play with them but they have very firm ground rules, no one they work with and no one they live near, these rules exist so that the third doesn't infringe on their relationship. So Josh ends up becoming a friend to them instead of a lover.
It's this build up of their friendship that kicks this to a next level menage. The attraction is strong for all three of them and they eventually break a few rules and then break more and more. The sex happens but it happens after these characters have had a strong introduction and their personalities are firmly established.
I adore Myles' writing style. I laughed so many times reading this book, the dialogue is so clever and rich and so very authentically British, I just really felt transported to another country while reading this and I loved it. The conversations just flowed so naturally and the story really delves into the dynamics of the menage, touching on the jealously and the awkwardness inherent in this kind of relationship.
The story is narrated by Josh and he is just the sweetest, most adorable person. He feels most things very strongly and flushes scarlet often and so charmingly. He is desperately attracted to these two men and wants nothing more than to stay with them but it's this attraction that causes him to never, ever want to hurt their established relationship so he goes out of his way to make sure they never feel threatened.
While they're normally great with communicating about the sexual side of the menage they don't touch on Josh's insecurities and this leads to the main angsty storyline as Josh navigates the rough seas of loving the physical effects of the menage while trying to avoid sinking deeper in the emotional ones.
There is a strong set of secondary characters here that just add to the richness of this read. I really enjoyed Dylan and would love to see a sequel that gives him an HEA. He was so cute and funny.
I would totally recommend this story to fans of menages but also to readers who have reservations about this type of story or feel it isn't for them. There is sex here and some of it is mildly kinky but the sex isn't the focus of this story, the characters are and the location shines as well. This is just a lovely, lovely read about a lonely man looking for love and finding it with two other men. Gorgeous stuff. Highly recommended! ...more

I found the first half of it almost unbearable to read and came pretty close to DNF'ing it but was too curious to see how Aiden was going to get himself out of the hell he was in to stop reading. I guess this was just too hardcore for me, the barrage of degredation and humilation just felt endless and hopeless.
Aiden's reason for finally leaving Scott just felt inauthentic and forced, just as his reasons for staying. Those few times that Scott was shown to be a sympathetic character just didn't work for me and felt like an artificial attempt to give him layers.
I picked up this book for the domestic discipline storyline. I've read other books with that subject matter and have really enjoyed them. While I did enjoy the second half of the book better with Keaton it still had problems for me.
Aiden just felt too much like a completely different character to me, for him to go from extreme pain slut to brat was just confusing. The whole brat concept does work for me but I had a hard time relating that to what I knew of Aiden from the first half of the book. Keaton didn't come as a strong top either and he almost seemed to be playing the role as much as Aiden did in his earlier club roles. Knowing kind of what he wanted but ultimately not strong enough to make me believe things will work out with the two of them in the end. Sometimes the relationship worked for me and other times Aiden pulled the strings too much.
This just didn't end up being a book that I enjoyed. There were concepts and moments that I liked but ultimately the extreme D/s of the first half and the tentative domestic discipline of the second just felt too at odds with each other to make for a cohesive whole.

This was probably one of the most medical stories that I've read, lots of terminology and procedures. It didn't feel clinical though and I enjoyed the warmth of the characters and their stories.
