This anthology had been thinkiA book about reading books with essays written by Black female authors and how they found representation in literature. This anthology had been thinking about my reading life when I was younger and I wish I was exposed to more authors who looked like me and shared similar experiences of a Black girl coming of age in America. Instead I spent my time reading VC Andrews, Dean Koontz, Christopher Pike and Sweet Valley High.
The only thing wrong with this book is that I don’t know when I will have the time to read all of the mentioned books listed at the end....more
