There is no backstory on Will and Xander...how they became vampires, why are they bonded, where they are from, how old they are, why they are living in a private library.
Autumn acted strange as well. When running for your life; do you stop and read a book on BDSM? If she's so scared and alone; why not tell Will and Xander her story and ask for their help. The most glaring issue is that she doesn't even react to them being vampires. Don't think I'll continue this series....more

The concept is good; but the execution could have been better (lots of typos...etc). I mostly enjoyed the multiple POVs and we got to see various relationships that were each very different. Cole and Aziz was amazing and hot; very steamy with real feelings. Samantha and Keet was very one-sided; Sam being totally oblivious to Keet's feelings for her. Elenor and Vok was kind of uncomfortable. They are both very reluctant to being paired together.
The Kathar aliens are very technologically advanced but now depend on humans to procreate. They are non-binary; have no genitalia or "holes" whatsoever. They don't even have faces; which is super creepy. They eat by absorbing patches they stick to their skin and their skin changes color depending on their emotions (they are even bioluminescent). They are empathic and pick up feelings by touch. One thing that's not explained is how they see/hear with no eyes/ears and how they talk with no mouth.
The end is not really an end as we have no resolution; especially with Elenor and Kov. I'll for sure continue the series....more

Viper was way too romantic and open with his feelings to be a hard-core biker. He went from being a ruthless sergeant at arms capable of torture and murder to a love-sick, hearts and flowers guy. The way he understood Jade's feelings towards Shadow was a little hard to believe.
The whole misunderstanding with Jade and Shadow felt forced and pushed us into another cliff-hanger...I'm stepping away from this series. I need a break....more

Mat gets punished with a "shocking" huge plug. When he finally gets to see Dougie, it's more depraved than anything he's imagined. Douglas makes a small break through and reaches out to Mat.
There were too many plot issues and the relationship between Guy and Jason was lacklustre at best.
First offThis story fell apart for me unfortunately.
There were too many plot issues and the relationship between Guy and Jason was lacklustre at best.
First off, I actually enjoyed the initial hook-up...pretty hot.
Then all of sudden, Jason is homeless and Guy asks him to live with him (after one day!!!). They then drop everything and go on the run when they get blamed for a bunch of murders. They end up back at Guy's family farm, and here is really gets bad. This Kaldr grow crops and livestock but don't even eat!!! Guy's father is a jerk and Guy is really emotionally absent.
I'm just going to stop because it doesn't get any better and to top it all off, it ends on a cliffy...UGH!...more

I like Thia; she's strong and nothing seems to phase her. I think I would have been more affected by what went down with her parents and what Chop did to her!
I know I'm not going to do this book justice with my review but I'll try.
I felt like I was inside the Super Awesome...Fucked-up, raunchy at it's best.

I felt like I was inside the messed-up genius head of Cronenberg. Parts of this were way over my head but I could appreciate the masterful writing and bleak outlook of a post-apocalyptic world.
This ends in a cliffy...and I have more questions now then when I started. This is NOT a traditional romance but there is the potential for something to develop...I think.
When a virus decimated the world, the solution was to create chimeric humans by blending them with animal DNA that was resistant to the disease. This unfortunately created monsters with fur and claws and some pretty ugly carnal urges.
I'm hoping that Vex and Hel are able to salvage something of their former love. Learning about White Shadow was a complete blindside and I have no idea how Nirvana, Winter and Jozi play into all this.

Juliette finally makes some progress with her relationship with Jase. This is the first time I feel genuine emotion from her and we get some great sex that isn't angry, hurtful and violent.

One of my pet peeves is a guy who spends the whole book saying he's not gay. This is Lucas.
The whole premise bothered me. The whole idea of getting hired to be on an adult pirate show and then finding out that it's a gay pirate show. The dynamic between Adam (captain) and Tyler (first mate) is troubling. Tyler is such a bitch.
The ending also left me disappointed. We don't find out anything and are just left hanging....more

Maybe because Reuben is gaining so much more confidence as Copper. He feels valued by Erik and he thrives in his new found life.
As with any Merikan book, the setting is unusual and fantastic. So original and quirky with themes including pony-play, steam-punk, dystopian and zombie.
Copper's breeding with Coal was pretty damn hot.
I especially enjoyed Erik finally letting his guard down. I'm hopeful for a true romance in the final instalment....more

That brutal scene with Ryan was a bit hard for me though. I am holding out for Blue...I think he's a good guy underneath the big and scary.
