Something was lacking and I could barely finish this story. Cynthia was described as a strong modern woman but only in the first few chapters. After meeting Raphael she was too meek. Yeah, and I wanted to hit my head a few times because of her and Raphaels's stupidy. A hard pass on the next books....more

Vision in Silver felt more like a preparation of what it's coming. And not all of what is coming is good. Meg made some mistakes while trying to help. The other blood prophets are struggling with their new lives. It's revealed that some prophecy can be made without needing to cut the skin. I wanted the Others to fight back, if not physically, then through the media. I couldn't stand how they were blamed for the shortages. (view spoiler)[Humans against humans... why I am not surprised?! (hide spoiler)] The human pack is growing and tries to work with the Others. And something nice could come from this...
And last... I want more Simon/Meg scenes... The horizon is too far away for now... Everyone can sense something is happening between them, but these two takes things so slow... All this talk about petting and playing with wolves... I want it too!

Murder of Crows was a little different than Written in Red. I loved everything except the too many POVs. Someone's thoughts would end unexpectedly and some other's thoughts would begin. It was confusing. Apart from that, I had fun reading the second book of the series. There were so many different characters and so much information. I loved the scenes at the first pages. I laughed so much when Meg kicked Simon and the subsequent drama... The romance is coming! Slow and painful, but I can see it on the horizon!
I didn't expect to like Written in Red so much... Creating a world in which people are aware of the supernatural is a breath of fresh air. Also, humanI didn't expect to like Written in Red so much... Creating a world in which people are aware of the supernatural is a breath of fresh air. Also, humans are not the dominant race. They're the prey. At first, the way the Others see the humans was startling. We're literally meat on a stick. However, along with Meg, the blood prophet, I began to see more under their surface.

Meg is a heroine I was drawn immediately. She can see the future just by cutting herself. Running away for the Controller, she is coming across the Lakeside Courtyard and his leader, Simon Wolfgard. While I'm not fond of the name Simon, it was fitting for that character. I didn't like him very much... He was scary and always snarling at Meg. Further in the story he starts to care for her... small gestures I would say. He gives Meg the Liasion' job. Accepting mail deliveries and sorting it out is part of her job. While she may seem to be child-naive and weak, I wouldn't agree. I'm sick of female badasses who are the best assassins and no one can beat them. Enough with this feminism. Yeah, everyone wants to be independent, smart and pretty. You can be it without being aggressive and upright. Actually, Meg is some of these things without intruding into your eyes... unlike some other female character in the book. She is kind and delicate but stubborn. Some of the Other befriends Meg because of her attitude. She somehow makes that thing which touches them. Now Simon... he is just that protagonist who is dominant enough to be a leader, but he doesn't overdo it. He is handsome as a human and Wolf but also smart and fearsome. He is also fiercely protective of those he cherished. What I loved is that Meg and Simon didn't fall into the predictable love trap. I mean many authors rely on sex scenes to make up for the plot... Not here though. There are clues left about their attraction here and there.

I really enjoy the way this new world is built on and his many characters. Each of the different POVs was intriguing to read. The story is well written and you're immediately charmed to dive into it. It reminded me of the books my mom used to give when I was younger. I have always been drawn to supernatural and books gave me other worlds to explore. The first books my mom encouraged me to read were The Spirit Ring and The Curse of Chalion of Lois McMaster Bujold. I could barely leave the books to study and sleep. They were written in a way that was talking to me. Something in Written in Red gives me this feeling again. Words don't always have to be big and aggressive for me to hear them. In books like this one, the dynamic is eerie and quiet but then it feels the most threatening. Anne Bishop is one of the best writers I've ever encountered. I would definitely recommend the series....more

It starts a little strange at first but then the reason why is revealed. Radian is Sunday's childhood friend and by magic, they're bound to fall in love, get married and to live happily ever after. You can guess who isn't very keen on this idea. Jamie, as he says himself in the book, becomes a different person after their nineteen birthday - violent and possessive. And why... because Radian and Sunday can read each other's thoughts and see through other's eyes while Jamie can't read Sunday's thoughts anymore. Obviously, he feels threatened and insecure even more when he finds a clue Sunday unintentionally leaves behind her. A clue which could be a true or a lie. Jamie eventually pushes away Sunday and she decides to give him the answer he has been waiting for years. Then... something went wrong. I felt like crying when I thought what Sunday thought had happened (confusing but you'll know if you read the book xD). Jamie and Sunday are perfect for each other but sometimes you can't see it with your own eyes...
“Everything about us is wrong. I never listened to my father, I listened to my heart.” I’m looking into Sunday’s eyes and she’s glaring at me. “Choose him, Sunday! Get it over with!” I’m shouting at her louder than I intended and everyone on and off the field is staring at me, at us.

The story was funny and romantic at one moment and at the other - sad and angry. More information is given about the war, the draculas, the mistletoes, and their abilities. What I liked here was the structure of the book. One thing happened, then we're a year or two in the future... really fast paced but it's so well written that you can't miss anything. I loved how the problem was solved... So cute! ❤ Hey, there was a clue in the first book about which I thought almost at the moment and the main character did (I might be a little proud... xD). In addition, the magic was like a piece of the puzzle. It wasn't like the magic can make the whole plot like in some other books I have read. Oh, also there is a new mystery on the horizon related to Ashley and Randian. Maybe the next book would be about them and I would definitely read it. Fortunately, Randian didn't do anything to hate him and he was funny.
If I don’t get the girl then testing Tepes’ love for his girl should be an interesting experiment.

I couldn't stop until the end. So addictive, unique and unpredictable. You won't regret reading the book!
‘You thought I was going to let you sleep tonight? Cute.’ With those words, Jamie followed through and didn’t let up until the early hours of the morning.
Finally, something to take me out of my unenthusiastic state! At the beginning, I thought Jamie is the Dracula and Sunday - some ordinary human girl. Finally, something to take me out of my unenthusiastic state! At the beginning, I thought Jamie is the Dracula and Sunday - some ordinary human girl. Oh, boy, I was wrong! Sunday is a mistletoe and if I have understood right - she can control and spawn plants from the air while Jamie is a dracula, not an ordinary vampire, someone who can walk in daylight after they become 21 years old and can eat normal food.
My heart and mind wonder through all of the things that Jamie could possibly be thinking about doing with me. I have a few ideas of my own. My heart quickens its beat. "You okay over there? That heart of yours is beating mighty fast, Sunday."

What's more is that there are no humans. It was a smooth transition to that revelation. In fact, much of the information above was presented here and there, unnoticed. I liked that. Also, I loved the exchange between Sunday and Jamie. It was witty and sweet and was slowly building up sexual tension. I wish it was a full-length book and I would have read it again. I would definitely recommend this book and the author! You can't miss it!
