They only meet for the first time at around 40% The only conversation between them is the quick one determining her duties (except for the really short one at 99%). The first time either thinks the other is hot is at 75%. There is only one kiss at 90%. And another at 99%.
ZERO romance plot. ZERO chemistry.
There's a second star for the non romance plot...more

The execution is terrible. Bad writing, bad delivery of the story, and very little chemistry between the characters.
The flow was super choppy and the writing telegraphic enough to make me want to give up. The FMC came across as a spoiled brat and the MMC was cool, but with little personality and interest.
Everything felt a bit forced.
I will not read more books by this author for sure....more

In fact, the book was rather boring and the writing was getting on my nerves (the author kept using the past perfect tense even when it wasn't remotely applicable). From the 20% mark until almost 50%, nothing happens. Just a ton of repetition of the same.
The 3 stars are mainly because the MMC is amazing. So refreshing to see a hot alpha with tons of honesty, no drama and lots of sweetness. The FMC was ok.
The smexy was very sparse, short and flat. I'd rate it a 2 out of 5
It's a shame the execution was not great. This could've been a great book....more

It is noticeable that it its a first book in a series, as a lot is still left to develop. I liked the FMC and predict good things for all the other characters.
From hereon the review is full of SPOILERS as I can't review this without them. -----
The plot is original in the way it was conceived. Of course there is the FMC who thinks she's human but there's more to her. That's the end of the unoriginal. Her parents seemed to be human and trained her in hunting and martial arts. But they disappeared without a trace and now the FMC is stuck providing for her 6 siblings. The youngest of them also seems to have supernatural abilities. As for the others, I expect some surprises in the next books.
Somehow two Fae kings drop at her door, trying to court her, stating that she's their mate, while bickering between them and leaving warring troops guarding her house. Super funny.
Meanwhile she needs money to feed her siblings so she hunts and gets a job at a supernatural club, owned by the other Fae king.
The FMC resisted them and the idea that they were kings until the end of the book. She fought them, didn't really give them opportunities to explain - because she didn't believe.
I would prefer if she didn't give them an opportunity, but considering her life was totally uprooted, was attacked two times, found she had a bounty on her head, and she found out about supernatural all in a couple of weeks, I totally understand her reluctance.
Now she can't ignore things anymore.
We didn't get to really know the MMCs, who all seemed to be dangerous, funny and super hot. The FMC was a badass with an attitude but something tells me there's more....more
As usual, the writing of Sierra Simone is flawless. It's a joy to read it just because and independently of the plot.
I'm Awesome start for this series

I'm writing on the iPad so I'll make it brief: I absolutely loved the FMC and the plot but hated the MMC with a passion, which made me reduce one star from the rating.
I will, of course, read the next book and I'm sad I didn't notice that the series is incomplete before starting this book....more
