This is a book about several people - being the FMC the most prominent POV - living their daily lives in a beautiful small town. There are at least 6 POVs (all in the third person - WHY????). Each of them focuses on the story of it's character. Well, not really a story, just them going around doing their business and eating a lot.
At 66% of a novella, she's on a date with OM. Nothing remotely romantic happened yet between the supposed MCs. But I got an almost complete recipe for chicken thighs and roasted veggies ...more
It is - IMO - inadmissible that a romance book doesn't introduce the FMC until 30%. It's a 220 page book, so it's not like we'll have lot's oDNF @ 30%

The plot so far is a really choppy and somewhat mismatched patchwork of the Motor Club internal structure, flashbacks (tons) to the time the MMC was turned vampire, and some random wolf enemies. I'm sure this will be a bit developed in the following books in the series (which have other characters as MCs) but I'm also sure that there aren't enough pages left in this one for the development to lead us to a whole line of plot.
The writing style is decent (that's why I rated one more star), but that plot structure, the lack of and FMC for 30% of the book and the mess of it all lead me to rate this book despite DNFing.
I'm, cleaning my kindle that if full of "stuff your kindle day" books and I keep cursing. I found some gems, but it's like 10% of it....more
I have no idea what I just read, but is was the most discombobulated attempt at a suspense plot with a one bed trope - that didn't lead anywhere. ANYWI have no idea what I just read, but is was the most discombobulated attempt at a suspense plot with a one bed trope - that didn't lead anywhere. ANYWHERE.
I suppose the romance will appear in the next book, as in this one every interaction was awkward af. Of course I will not read the second book as I really don't care anymore.
The author had a great idea - suspense, mystery around ancient artifacts and romance. But what I got was like a caricatured attempt at it.
Also, it took me months to finish this short story. The second star is because I actually finished it.
Finally... third person POV! WHY? it was not done well and confused things further, apart from helping us detach from the story even more....more
