An excellent novella. Ali and B. Simpson are getting married in Las Vegas on Christmas Day. All of their guests are at the same five-star hotel. B. has taken his grandchildren-to-be shopping for their parent's Christmas gifts, and upon their return to valet parking a jerk throws a miniature dachshund out of his car and speeds off. Ali's young grandson runs into traffic to save the doggy from being killed. The poor little thing looks malnourished and abused, and B. takes the sweetheart back to his and Ali's suite. Ali has too much to do for the ceremony, and she isn't in the market for a dog, but will help B. find the animal's owner.
A very touching tale with the bonus of a wedding, children, and an animal. J. A. Jance can mesmerize the reader in a few pages as well as the longer format. Ms. Jance's characters are humanized, speak intelligent and clever dialogue, and the author's narrative is always spot on.
Noelle Perkins left the legal profession to settle in Fool’s Gold and opened The Christmas Attic, a wonderful store. Noelle has made many friends and really enjoys her new hometown. Her friend, Felicity, is engaged to Gideon Boylan, who owns the local radio station, and his twin brother, Gabriel, a trauma specialist for the army is joining his family for the holidays. Gabriel is on a medical leave due to an injury he sustained in the emergency room treating a patient. The Boylan family have not all been together in over ten years. This Christmas Felicity invited everyone to Fool’s Gold so she could meet her future in-laws, and they could all meet Carter, Gideon’s son that no one knew about.
Noelle and Gabriel become friends and he helps her out by working in her store. They have such great chemistry generating between them and after a couple of times under the mistletoe, the sizzling starts. Noelle is gun shy; she was jilted not too long ago. Gabriel isn’t sure he can sustain a long-term relationship. Gabriel is also at a cross-roads in his life. Mayor Marsha tries to lure him into joining the excellent medical facility the community is building, but Gabriel’s father thinks he should give the Army twenty years of service. Gabriel is also having second thoughts about a commitment to Noelle.
CHRISTMAS ON 4th STREET is a warm, special story where love and kittens are found along with the perfect Christmas tree.

Kenny Scott is one of the business partners in Score, along with two other retired NFL players and their business manager, Taryn. While Taryn and her husband, Angel, are on their honeymoon, Mayor Marsha Tilson asks Kenny and Widow Bailey Voss to fill in for the newlyweds and lead the acorn grove Future Warriors of the Maa-zib that Bailey’s daughter Chloe is in. Fool’s Gold was, and pretty much still is, a matriarchal society descending from the Maa-zib. During the upcoming holidays, Chloe’s acorn grove has several activities that will need supervision.
Kenny has noticed Bailey for quite some time, and she sure jingles his bells, but he has an iron clad rule about dating women with children. Seven-year-old Chloe is precious and crazy about Kenny. The child lost her father right before Christmas last year ; this Christmas Chloe and Bailey will be moved into the first new home so there is a lot to be excited and thankful about.
Kenny and Bailey are very compatible and work really well as a team. Bailey has had fantasies about Kenny since day one, but she has no false hopes they will come true as is nothing like the type of women he seems to prefer. Working this close with the man of her dreams and being his partner at business functions is a thrill, but she knows she is possibly in for a big letdown after Christmas.
YOURS FOR CHRISTMAS is a novella included with the reprint of last year’s CHRISTMAS ON 4th STREET, and it is one sweet, dreamy, and sexy gift from Susan Mallery. Yes, Bailey, there is a Santa Claus and he needs you and Chloe. YOURS FOR CHRISTMAS is a wonderful, feel good, story stuffed with humor and love.

MR. MIRACLE
Debbie Macomber Ballantine October 2014
Angel Harry Mills has finally been given his first assignment on Earth to “gently guide,” or mentor, two young people who have known each other all their lives, but have never really been friends. Harry’s spiritual coordinator is Celeste Chapeaux, and she has powers and gifts that he hopes to have one day. While Harry has the body of a middle-aged man who looks wise and mature, Celeste is a young, tattooed, pierced “ruffian” and is a barista at the cafeteria latte stand.
Harry is placed as a teacher at Southshore Community College in Tacoma, Washington. His class will be studying Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol.” It took some heavenly persuasion to get him this position, and Dr. Conceito, the college president is just waiting for this new transfer professor from Oregon State Community College to fall flat on his face.
Addie Folsom has returned to Tacoma to help her mom get through the first Christmas without Addie’s late father. Harry is to help her regain a good sense of herself and at the same time nudge her into a relationship with her neighbor, Eric Simmons. Eric is the best friend of Addie’s brother, and the boys weren’t too kind to her when they were growing up. Addie’s mom has made plans to take a Christmas cruise with Eric’s mom, but Eric had an accident and Mrs. Simmons needs to stay home and take care of her son. Both mothers are very upset – not only will they miss the anticipated cruise, they will lose their money. Addie is guilted into taking care of her nemesis, and really dislikes the idea.
Addie and Eric have very little in common. Addie loves Christmas and decorations; Eric doesn’t even want a tree in his house. Addie puts a tree in Eric’s den and other decorations in the house, including mistletoe. That has got to cheer the grouch up!
Debbie Macomber gives her readers beautiful gifts all year long, and especially at Christmas. MR. MIRACLE is a warm and enjoyable seasonal tale that is brimming with the grace and beauty of Ms. Macomber’s talent for penning enchanting stories of love, miracles and angels.
