I'm rarely reading childrens books but when I do, I know I'm usually in for a good treat. And this story is simply wonderful. I feel in love with the main character and her friends and family. I especially loved her grandmother. Mouse is so brave, fearless, compassionate and has so much courage, I really enjoyed her character. She has big dreams and even bigger steps to fill in. I'm not going to go into the plot, since no matter what I say, I would for sure be giving away some of the mystery and joy of discovering this book's potential. All I can say is that it's a pleasure to read and you won't regret doing it. ...more

I really enjoyed it. It reminded me a bit of Alexa Riley books, so that is always a big plus in my book. I also never expected this author to write a lighter story and I'm happy she did it. It's a PNR book about mermaids and I have to say that I don't ofter read stories about these wonderful and yet mysterious creatures. A pleasand surprise for sure! As for the plot, what can I say... There is some but don't expect too much depth, since this is a super short story. I'm glad we got to see some action but I wished we'd get to know the characters and their backgrounds more, especially the gangs. But all in all, this is a story about love and how you can find in the most unexpected ways. A great read!...more

I liked the sequel enough to read this story. And I love, love, loved it!!! The story is a mix of greek ancient time, where gods still rulled the world and the present time where the gods sadly still rule but more so in the background. But it's not just gods and myths, there are also some other supernatural beeings that make the plot really interesting. The hero, Julian, is to die for, he's a tortured old soul but with so much love to give. He's been a love slave, trapped in the book, for almost two thousand years and surprisingly enough he's still sane. I adore him. The same goes for Grace, she's got such a big heart and loved the way those two found their way to each other. So sweet!!! They have to sacrifice to gain but the wait is so worth it. What a wonderful read.

I remember getting this book a long while ago and was really looking forward to it. The blurb sounded exciting and intriguing, so I thought why not give it a go. So now I finally read it and I hate to say it but I'm actually quite disappointed by the weak plot.

The way this story started left me totally confused since the author doesn't tell us exactly what's happening. You get a teenager in the present time that moved to a new town because of her father's job. And then you have a boy that still lives on Earth but not really, since the Earth that we know is dying and the people have mutated to some sort of lizard like creatures. Which btw. I loved, a great spin on the main character. But what bothered me is that we get this information almost near the end of the story. So all this time I was practically wondering what Zat is and what the actual plot is. And, yes, the plot is super weak. It's starts of fine but then you read and read, nothing really happens. She lives her normal life, makes friends, gets a job and only meets up with Zet in her dreams and that only for a short period of time. So we actually almost don't get to see him in the real world. (view spoiler)[until the last page (hide spoiler)] And then all of a sudden, the story comes to it's end. And you're left even more confused, like that was it? Huh? I expected more.

I have to say that Faris gives us great background on the character Faris, his family, his curse and just in general who he is as a person. He's the main character in One Wish Away, so I definitely wanted to know more about him before I started to read his new journey. This story is a novella but it does a good job of telling us the main events that then lead to this characters punishment and his curse, which is explored in detail in the novel.

It's been awhile since I've read a story about dragons, so I jumped on the chance to read this book. I admit that I haven't read the rest of the books in this series, so I was at times a bit lost, especially when it came to the love drama between the Dragon king and the Fae queen and his previous lover. But aside from that I liked the story. It's action packed but with enough sweet scenes that made the romantic in me satisfied. I loved how Dimitri grew to like Faith and also showed her things that the normal human side of her would never imagine existed. Faith is someone who strives for the truth. The journey to uncover secrets is an adventure, but this time it's going to be the adventure of her life. The power play of the dark fae and the dragons made for in interesting read, also the various POVs were a great addition to the plot. I really liked how the story turned out, so I would definitely recommend it. :)...more

It took me so freaking long to find out about this story but I'm glad I read it. It's been quite awhile since I've read one of Laurann's books and I have the feeling that this one is a bit similar to her New Species series. Both have strong men that would do anything to protect their women. But sadly this story is not as good as the other series. I always hope for the author to find her spark again but so far I haven't read any of her books that would make me feel the same excitement and interest as the first few New Species books. I know that beside Laurann's books, I've also read one of Kele's books and I loved it. I think we could see both their writing styles in this story and that made the book that more interesting to read.
There were some really cute scenes that I loved but also some great, more serious scenes. I liked the characters and I wonder whos book will be next. The only thing that did bother me at times were scenes where I felt that Brandi was treated quite poorly. I didn't like how some pack mates treated her after what she's been through. I mean, she was almost killed in a gruosome and traumatic way and then they even joke about it. That's just tasteless and completely unnecessary to be put into the story. So that definitely bothered me. I also wished we'd get a full sized novel, with more background from the characters and the whole world they live in. Just more details and depth. But other than that I enjoyed the story. Since this is a quick read, it's not so dark and heavy. It's more fun and easy going. Just a great PNR read. ...more

When I first read what the book was all about I was super intrigued and I'm so glad I went for it and read it. To say that the stories are not what your usually read would be is an understatement. They are, at least to me, a mix of wonder, sadness, craziness and simply something that will leave you thinking about strange things. Each story is unique, so you will never be bored or uninterested. But I have to warn you, these stories are not for the faint-hearted. They are messy, even dark and definitely not a light read. But I'm sure that in the end you will find yourself enjoying them. If not, then maybe it's just me who's strange enough to like them. ;)

I'm glad I gave this story a chance and even more glad that I've read Faris, the novella, first. It explains what happened between the brothers, Faris and Zed, and how they came to be in the state they are today. I have to say that I don't know much about djinns, aside from Aladin stories, so this story and plot was really refreshing. You don't get to read that much of this type of stories thesedays. Usually it's vampires, dragons and shifters, so again, I really enjoyed the new supernatural creatures.
This is pure YA and I'm surprised that I liked it that much. I usually read NA, because I want the 'whole package', if you get me, but this time it was actually better for the author to draw the line at YA. Otherwise I think it would've been a bit weird for me, plotwise and all that. I won't give away much plot, besides the fact that there's bad blood between these two brothers. One is good and one has completely submitted to rage and revenge. I loved Faris, he's just amazing. Super cute, considerable, mature adn simply has a good heart. I obviously didn't like Zet much, but at times I did feel bad for him. The only character that really did get on my nerves is Marielle. She's so immature and stubborn, I just couldn't stand her way of thinking. She is full of anger and mistrust, and she reflects that onto other people by hurting their feelings and with Faris she's just way to selfish. Also, making out with a boy just to make someone jealous and feeling hurt, not cool, not cooll at all! I did not like her at all! That is also the reason why I gave this story only three stars. Had she been a better, more mature character, I would've definitely given the story more points.
But don't get me wrong, it's still a good read and maybe you will like Marielle more than I did. Just give it a try and see for yourself. ...more

WherI hate to say it but this is the first time that I didn't like a book by this author. I'm so disappointed by this weak plot, it's not even funny. Where did the smart twists go, where did the no OW drama go, where did the action go and so many more things... :'( By the end, I just wanted to finish the story and be done with it. Even Meryn, who I actually really like, got on my nerves, since she wasn't as smart as usual and at times she came across even more immature and bitchy. Everyone said how she's a genius but I really didn't see her actions as something special.
At the beginning I liked the way the story unfolded. I always love to see the characters from previous books, so that is always a plus. But after the main characters of this story found each other, the plot went downhill. The unnecessary details from Declans sexual past (and right before they mated, might I add) made this story impossible for me to enjoy. I love Alder's books because she doesn't do drama but in this story I felt like I was reading a book by a whole different author. Kari was a great character and made the whole story a bit better, but still...
That's just how I felt about this book, so that doesn't mean you won't enjoy it. Try it and see for yourself, you might end up liking it more than me. :)

We actually don't get to see much of their dragon form, except by the end of the book. And for me, that OK. That didn't bother me at all. The plot was well written and I found the dialogue between the two main characters quite refreshing. Also, the concept of the story is quite interesting, since a dragon can only have one mate. But as it happens, what if you have two twin brothers and only one possible mate. Yeah, that's not a good outcome. As if that wasn't enough trouble, add to that a slimy, backstabbing fox lady from the Middle Ages and you have two dragons wreaking havoc right and left. That is until both get cursed for five hundread years and to my utmost satisfaction the fox lady gets toasted.

Literally, she gets turned into a nice pile of dust...

Anyway...
Now it's up to Zander and Rena to clean up the mess. And their road is a rough one. For once you don't get the insta love but you do get some highly explosive sexual tension between them. There aren't that many sex scenes but for this story just the right amount. Given the guilt Zander carries for his past deeds, the love story takes awhile to fully develop. There's quite some push-pull play but not too much. To me it was like reading an old couple bickering and then making up. So, all in all quite enjoyable. Also the paranormal part was great and you got the enswers that you needed to understand the new world. Simply a great first read from this author.

I love her stories and I really enjoyed this one, too. Also the fact that we got to see more of Kaleb and Sahara was a huge bonus. We got to know more about the Dark net and how it looks like, also new questions and some answered ones. The journey is a great one, full of romance and also a vision of the future that the Psy might have. We also got to met new characters that are surprisingly lovely and add so much to this story. I loved Jane and how she kept pushing Vasic. She never gave up on him, even when he did. There were moments where I really though that was it for him but thankfully the ending wasn't so dark. I feel bad for him and what he lost but in the end he gained so much more, hope and love being one of them. I enjoyed reading about Aden and getting a better feel for his character. I wonder how his story will look like but I'm sure it will be a great read.
Riaz and Adria's story was an unusual one. They were both from the same pack, both wolves and both3,5 STARS
Just one read away from Kaleb's story, yes!
Riaz and Adria's story was an unusual one. They were both from the same pack, both wolves and both knew there was no maing bond between them. I kinda hoped there would be one at the end but that didn't happen. Riaz has already found his mate but she was already taken by another. So you can imagine that he was heartbroken. Similar thing happened to Adria. She was in a disfunctional relationship for years and when she finally broke the circle, her heart bleed as well. It's such a strange thing for those two to find each other in a phase of their lives, where love seems an impossibility.
I wasn't that impressed with Riaz's behaviour towards Adria at the beginning of the book. To be frank, he was a total jerk and only let his hurt control him. With that he not only pushed others away but also almost destroyed his chance of love. I'm glad he overcame that as the story went on. As it turned out, he's actually a quite nice fella and super protective towards the people he loves. With that he managed to win himself some bonus points. Also, I like it that he never gives up. And that was just what Adria needed. Someone who really saw her worth and didn't give up on her.
Adria is a strong woman but one with a broken heart. And she didn't really have the right time to grieve. So when Riaz and her new job make her emotions go haywire she finally breaks and lets herself remember the loss and pain. Finally she heals. That makes her then woundable and she doesn't trust in Riaz's feelings for her. And tat the leadst to a long plot where nothing really happens.
Now the thing that bothered me in the previous book is that we don't see much of a progress in the big plot. Yes, something is happening, some die and some don't really matter to the plot because they don't freaking do anything! We get so much of Siena and Wrath's story, that it almost felt like this story was a continuation of the previous one and Adria and Riaz's story is just a side-kick. Also there wasn't much action, not much memorable romance and frankly said, I'm disappointed in the whole book. The only saving grace were the Arrows and of course Kaleb. So...yeah...
But anyway, I'm finally going to read Heart of Obsidian and that's all that matters! Yes! ...more

Are you kidding me?! How come I only read the book now?!!! It's amsolutelly brilliant. And it doesn't even have sex in it, like wtf? How can I like it so much, it's insane. The plot is awesome and the author has an incredible imagination to create this fantastic yet cruel world. I love the new creatures and rules, where only the strongest survive. It's like watching Hunger games, hah! I would say, for those of you who aren't feeling squeamish, this is the book for you. And for the rest of you, just read the damn book, why the heck not! Won't do you harm, much... I won't go into plot, there's just too much going on to really explain it but I can say that it won't disappoint. Also, the characters are so unique and fantastic, that you'll grow to love each of them. Also for those that you won't find love, don't worry, they die either way. ;) I'm definitely a fan of this series and can't wait for book two! ...more

I skipped two books and went straight into reading this one, since I got a steal for this hardcover and I don't really regret it, nope. At times I was slightly confused but at the end I caught up on the main things.
I liked that we got to see more Wrath and Bella again but they sure had their own problems. But nothing like Rehvenge's problems. Man, that poor man. Reading about his past and how he came to be the sexual slave for his princess is just... I don't think I would love somebody that much and do what he has to do for them, especially since they were to ones to fuck up stuff that lead to this mess. Seriously, that's a hard choice. And don't even get me started on that 'Princess'. I was honestly just waiting for someone to kill her off or to do something that will make her more bearable. I so didn't like her, ugh. At the end I was quite satisfied with the outcome, so all is forgiven. Also, I could have gone without the sex scenes between them but I get why the author chose to include them in the story. It makes the reader feel more than, if they were simply told the act happened and that's that. Seeing it first hand and what he was thinking made me understand him more and this whole situation. I was so glad when he found his nurse. Finally something good in his dark life. But then again, love does have it's ups and downs and Rehvenge got the full ride on that treacherous train. Thankfully everything goes the way it's supposed to and I couldn't be more happier for him and Ehlena.
I liked Ehlena, not as much as Rehvenge (for obvious reasons) but still more than the rest of the characters. Some were just downright awful. She has this light around her that I guess captured Rehvenge. She's just so lovely in a way but also fierce. At the end she really fough for him and didn't give up, despite what happened at the club. So definitely thumps up for that.
All in all, I liked the story and the new plot. I just wished they would move on from their enemies or at least that something big or new would have happened. In a way it did, since someone got taken but still... I wanted more in some aspects of the story and less in the others. I know, I know... Anyway, still a good read! :)...more

I cannot tell you how freaking AMAZING this book is! And don't even get me started on Valentin, he's my new book BF. Wow! Despite what some of you might think of Silver, I actually liked her, too. She's a kick-ass woman and even a brain surgery won't take her from her right path. The whole koncept of this story is awesome and the pages disappeared too quickly. I wished we'd gotten even more from these two characters and about what happened to his father. Also, Bo, I really hope we get to see more of him. But we humans are a tough breed! We finally get some huge clues as to who the big bad guys are and even if the whole book sucked (which it obviously didn't) it was all worth it because of Kaleb. Ahhh... Say what you want, he's still my favourite. But Valentin comes second, so that's saying something.

I wanted to read this book solely because of it's cover. I'm a person that will read the book because of the cover and this time I unfortunately didn't see that this is a series. So this is the third book and I highly recommend to all other readers that they read the first two books first. I had some throuble at the beginning of the story to get the hang of it all, since we have two worlds that the characters tell the story in or it relates to what happened there in the past. Also, the prologue is told by a wolf that belongs to the Nine of Stars wolf pack, so that was definitely confusing to me. But the rest is also told by Petra and other characters. After I found my way into the story it all started to make more sense. This is a fantasy/crime/bit of romance story. There is this 'supernatural evil' that this pack makes an enemy of and now they are in big trouble. Also, since the events that took place in the previous books we have another story beside this one. I love how a book can tell more than one story. That definitely makes up for an interesting story as a whole.
Petra is a very smart woman and that sometimes leads her into trouble. But this time her body is not on her side as well but that doesn't stop her to investigate the new killings. I also liked Gabriel's character. He's lost a lot in his other magical world. Being now 'less' is taking some use to but at the end he does the right thing. I'm not so sure how I feel about Owen's character. He's like a dog that once smells blood, there's no stopping him.
All in all I liked this story. The plot is quite interesting and fresh but I don't like the ending. The cliffy is not my favourite part in a book. I want to know how the story unfolds and aslo, will Gabriel manage to escape or not. This is definitely one great read!
