And now I'm actually feeling sorry that I did in fact read it so fast, because a good book is so hard to come by. Anyway, the author stays true to her writing style and the overall story plot. I feel like we got a lot of answers and new question in this one and now I am already looking forward to reading the next book in this series (that hopefully comes out soon). ...more

I tried, I really did but at some point you know you have to stop. I really don't like Callie's character, the way she thinks (or rather the author does) and even Temper and Des couldn't bring me to further read this story. There was some action but it was too short, not detailed enough and, same as the second book, had some potential to be great. Sadly the story lost it's appeal for me and instead of struggle through it, I'd rather just find another book that I'll hopefully enjoy. ...more

I really expected more from this story, since I really liked the first book of this series. What happened to Callie? She went from a great character to this powerless, whiny and weak character. It's like she had to be saved by Des so many times, it's ridiculous. I mean, why do authors do that? Seriously, what's going on in their heads that they think the readers will like such a character, huh? But thank god for Des and Temper, they saved the day! Literally in this case and multiple times at that! About the writing... The plot was barely there. The second part was kinda all right but truth to be told I really felt stupid when reading the story. You get all the answers pretty early on in the story and then you have to read how the story drags out and about until miraculously the characters figure it out. And that is of course at the very end... Like come on, I want a story to grab my intellectual attention. Otherwise I just get bored and have to stuggle to finish the book. And also, the author should've read the previous chapters she wrote and only then proceed with writing more chapters. There were some parts where she repeated what was already been told previously and then just added a sentence. I mean...you for sure can do better than that. Don't add unnecessary things to the story just to make it longer. Sometimes less is definitely better. So to sum it up, this did not reach up to my expectations. The book had potential but the execution wasn't quite there. It just didn't deliver what it should have. Sure, there are some enjoyable parts of the story but for me it just wasn't enought to make me like the story. ...more

From the reviews I knew that it wasn't going to be a bad story. The more I read, the more I actually liked it. It's fresh, it's adventurous and above all it has great PNR elements that I love. I will admit that some parts were dragged out a bit but nothing I couldn't live it. All in all, this is a book worth giving a try and I know I'll read the rest of the books in this series. I only hope Calli stays a strong character and doesn't turn into a mary sue. Fingers crossed. :)...more

Aaaaand that sums up my feelings perfectly. I mean wtf?!!! I skipped the first part, cause it was boring the house! And the second part was all right, till the 70% marker. Then it just went downhill, again. And don't even get me started on the ending. I mean seriously?! What the hell was the author thinking, huh? Totally not cool or acceptable. And it's no secret that I'm not fond of Cadence's character. What a twat. A goddy doer in the worst kind. And totally too trusting. She's just a horrible character that I wanted to kill, preferably by beheading and blowing up. But just when I thought I got my wish when she fell in the volcano, nope, my hope was shattered. If she's in the next Legion of Angels book I'm done! I do have a feeling that she's going to be the word mother in law, that's for sure! Damien can stay, the rest of this book characters', except Pandora and Nero of course, can take a hike straight to hell and stay there indefinitely! Thank you. ...more

It's nice to get to know Nero's parents and how they met and what adventures they had together. As expected from this author you get lots of action, the right amount of humor and sass and of course a bit of romance that makes you want to read the rest of the books. Would I say that I loved this book as much as Leda and Nero's stories...no but it came pretty close. I did enjoy Cadence and Damien's story and I'm currious enough to read more of what happens to them. It's a great story for sure. Tho I would advise the readers to read the Legion of Angels series first, since both series compliment and interact with each other, especially the third book in this series. ...more

I had problemI had high hopes for this story, since I know this author can write amazing books. But this time it felt like the whole book was rushed. I had problems with the timing, like when Cadence finds out that her whole life she has been lied to. She went from crying to immediately sassy and acted like that moment never happened. It was trippy to say the least and it made me feel like I missed something. I did like Damien a lot tho. He was dare I say perfect. Also the plot wasn't so bad, full of action and romance and we also get a scorching scene. So all in all, I liked it but was expecting more. I don't think it's a spoiler that she's quite the opposite from the past woman we've been reading about. It's like she's all of a sudden a whole new personality and I liked that for her. But at the same time, it felt like it was just to sudden and to fast forward, without a real clean transition from the past her to the present. To me, at least, it felt a little rushed but then I was just going with the flow of the story so it wasn't so bad. As for the plot and the rest of characters, I liked it but didn't love it. I missed the action and to me the plot felt like a changeover to the next book and where this series is going.
All in all, it's a good story and I think that any fan of this series will enjoy it. ...more

I'm going to be honest here and admit that I wasn't expecting a ton of depth of this story. But boy was I surprised by the ending. This is not just an adventure but also a story of survival at it's finest. My favourite character was by far Babak the frog. He really comes out of his shell and becomes the here that he reads about in his books. By the end I was feeling a bit sad and afraid of what's to come next for the Seacity inhabitants but also happy about what life has planned for them next. All in all, this is a read that will leave you with wanting more of the characters story but it will also make you think about certain problems that our world has to deal with these days. ...more

I loved everything about this story. From the plot, the characters and illustrations. everything just fit together and made the story really enjoyable and simply a fun PNR read with so many magical creatures. I wish this was a series, since I would really like to know more about these two main characters lives and how their journey continues. But as it is now, is also amazing. We get ending we wish and all is good. To be honest it's been awhile since I last felt so good about reading a story that really made me feel so much joy. I would definitely recommend it to everyone that enjoys something magical in their lives. ...more

There are a couple things that I liked and there are a few that I didn't. It was just an all right read for me. And since this is my fourth book that I've read in a row I think I'm starting to see the authors type of writing and thinking and I'm just not impressed by it. Sorry, but it's the truth. The whole thing with everyone underestimating and not having Kate's back is getting old real fast. And also, where were her friends when she needed them, huh? What happened? In the big battle there was only Curran that had her back. Everyone else was not even mentioned, aside from Andrea. Also, I was not impressed by her behaviour at the end. Now the chapters at the end, just low what the pack did to Kate, really. I don't know why the author won't evolve the characters personalities, it's like they are frozen and with each book you only get a new action plot and that's it. That being said, the best part of this story was definitely and by far Kate's family. To me they are the only thing that makes me want to read the rest of the books. Everything else is just flat and boring. I know that with every book Kate will be treated like dirt, she will still want to save everyone - no idea why, just let them die and she will still be an outsider (to the pack, the humans and so on). I'm disappointed with the author's lack of vision for her characters.

So with all that being said, will I read the rest of the books? No clue, maybe. Truth being said I'm bored and since I've not yet found another book that I would want to read, I'm thus reading this series. Any suggestions about great PNR books would be highly appreciated. ...more

Oh man, I was really looking forward to this one but sadly yet another disappointing reverse harem novel... I wish to finally find a good one, where there's actually some action going on and the book is not being a YA rated one. So far the reverse harem books that I've read were beyond slow burn romance and with some I even gave up the wait for something to happen. With that being said, if the plot and the characters are awesome, I will read a couple of books in the series even without the hots going on but if the first book doesn't give me much of a feel then I'm just out. And the same happened with this story. The book just didn't grab my attention and the characters were only so-so for me. So that's why I stopped reading at 20% and just skimmed the rest. But if you like the blurb and even the first 10%, then keep on reading. Sadly this one just wasn't my cup of tea.

I loved it! From the beginning to finish, I liked everything about it. My last reads weren't that great, so I really needed a good book to lift my spirits and this one definitely did the job. The story is so intriguing and the plot just sucks you in. Also the characters are wonderful. They mature and form a closer bond through their nightmare school trip, and what a trip it was. This book is all about adventure, friendship and love. These things can shine the light even in the darkest places. What an amazing story! ...more

I really liked everything about it. Well... in the beginning Liam is an asshole but in the end he did win me over. And not to mention the plot twists, wow. The one at the end, just insane. Did definitely not see that one coming. Talk about a cliffhanger. But thankfully the next book will soon be out, so I can read about what happens next in Eve's crazy new life. And not to mention all the paranormals. I don't think I've read a book that had them all in. Even Lilith, yes, The Lilith. Lets just say this book is very entertaining. What I wished were perhaps different is the slow burn romance. We get only one hot kissing scene in the whole book, so that was a bummer. But I hope we get lots more of them in the second book.

If I had to sum up this book I'd say it's very interesting and informative. You get a ton of information but not to the point where it's overwhelming. Also the illustrations help a lot with imagining those creatures. Since they are myths there can be more than one description of how the creature looked like, so I was sometimes surprised by the authors picks. Also, while reading this book I found myself fascinated by the differences between the creatures appearances in this book and how they are shown in the movies. Especially the Harry Potter movies. Now some creatures I wouldn't mind meeting in the dark but most of them I'd rather not, since what they have in common is death and pain for anyone that they encounter. I was most curious about the European myths since I am from Europe and I'm therefore more familiar with them. But at the same time I liked to learn about the myths from the rest of the world. All in all you could say that I really enjoyed reading this book and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes to learn more about the myths of this world. ...more

This book was quite all right and I liked it but I don't think I'm going to continue reading the rest of the series. Why? Well some parts of the plot were just too slow for me and I just wished more from her potential lovers. I adored Tye and Shade but Coal and River were just mean jerks that had their walls so high up that I do doubt Lera will ever be able to tear them down. Other than that I liked the plot for the most part, it's fresh and has a lot of potential. I also liked Lera's character. She was fun and brave when needed. Wow, I marely made it through two chapters before I quit. I think that's even a record for me. This book was so not what I expected. From the blurb and the great reviews I was really looking forward to reading it but boy oh boy was this a disappintment. The heroine was just so childish and not even strong. And what's with the action in the first chapter, are you for real? Where's the build up? I felt like I was thrown into cold water and was then left to drown. Safe to say this book didn't make any sense to me at all, so I thankfully stopped myself from going deeper into that rabbit hole.
