Truly one of my favorite books. --------------------------------------- Reread 10/12/2023 I almost never reread books and I definitely never do that in the same year I read it the first time, but I couldn't resist with this one. It's definitely my favorite book of 2023, and may be my favorite book overall at the moment. Rereading it made me love it even more, I can't wait for the sequel next year. --------------------------------------- Original Review 7/5/2023 I loved this book so much. It reminded me a lot of the Regency Fairy Tale series, which is also one of my favorites. I apparently really like historical settings with fae just being a part of normal life, but also being kind of dangerous and scary. The romance was a bit goofy but I enjoyed it, and I really really liked the main character.
Basically read this in one day, I need the sequel NOW....more

This book, man! This book! I knew it would probably be sad, but I didn't expect it to be so complex. It's not just sad, it's happy, it's angry, it's scary, and it's hopeful. I loved it so much. I know this book will be on my mind a lot. If you are not picking this up because you don't enjoy romance, don't let it stop you. It really isn't a romance book, though there is a very sweet romance at the core of it. It's about a LOT more. I loved trying to figure out what was happening for the first part of this book, then the latter half just gut-punches you (a few times, tbh)

I loved this book, I think I like it even more than The Titan's Curse, these books really keep getting better. I wonder if I'll feel the same about the Heroes of Olympus books, I always remember liking those better than the original PJ books, but now that I'm rereading I realize how good these are.
I loved seeing more of Nico, loved the story of the labyrinth, and really loved seeing the relationship between Percy and Annabeth develop. I can't wait to get to the final book, I'm very excited to finish the series. ...more

I don't think that makes it my least favorite, though. It's just a tough book for many reasons.
I really like the way the story shows Leck's influence in Monsea, even a decade after his passing. The way Bitterblue grows in this book is amazing and I really loved reading her development. I wasn't the biggest fan of Saf and her romance plot with him, but it was a small part of the story.

I just felt like reading something light and fluffy and wanted to start on the sequel, then realized I remembered very little about this book so it would be smart to reread it. It was a blast to read again and I'm very excited to read the sequel. --- This book was very enjoyable and exactly what I thought it would be, in a good way. It was a really fun and quick read, and I enjoyed both the main characters a lot. I feel like a few of the side characters were a bit annoying, but they didn't overshadow the story.
The one negative I have to say is that it felt a little too long, like it dragged on just a bit too long. But overall, I really liked it. I was definitely pulled into the story and could understand every decision the main characters made, even if they were frustrating ones that caused more conflict.
I'd definitely recommend this if you think it might be interesting. It was a very enjoyable read....more

Continuing my reread, and I really loved reading this book again. The third book just has so much nostalgia for me, as it was my favorite Harry Potter book until the final one came out. It's still tied with that one, honestly. The plot is just so good, and I'll never forget how much the twists at the end blew my mind when I read it for the first time.
This one I just don't really know how to review. I can't do anything but give it a 5 star read. Though I've also decided to keep all my ratings during this reread the same as the rating I gave originally....more

This is still a lovely book. I liked it better when I listened to it the first time in audio form, but it was still beautifully written and enchanting. I enjoyed the time travel tropes in it a lot. ------- I was a bit worried I wouldn't like this, but it somehow worked for me. I understand people who say the language was too flowery, and I also think I probably didn't understand everything completely, but it really managed to capture me. It was a beautiful little story that I listened to in one go. The author did a really good job capturing the fun nuances of time travel, which I really enjoyed.
I think this one is going to stick with me for a while....more

The premisRe-read 14/8/2023: I wanted to reread this one before I saw the movie. I enjoyed the book again this time, it's just very readable and fun.
The premise of this book seemed like so much fun, and after seeing it appear on my goodreads homepage a few times, I bumped it up to the top of my TBR list. No regrets there!
I was a bit surprised that it wasn't YA, somehow I had assumed it was. The main character's ages definitely gave away that it wasn't once I started reading, but I was somehow still caught by surprise by the fairly explicit sex scenes in the book. But they didn't take away from the story, nor did they overshadow anything else. It was just a bit of a surprise to me.
This book does a great job of building up characters and relationships. I loved reading from Alex' perspective almost right away, and him and his sister and their best friend had a great dynamic. Add Henry to the mix, and it was just wonderful to read the dialogue and interactions between everyone. The plot wasn't just focused on the romance, which I enjoyed too, and I liked seeing the differences between their situations, despite there being a lot of similarities as well. Their personalities were also very different, and they were definitely very well matched.
I felt like it slowed down a bit in the middle, I just kept waiting for (view spoiler)[ their secret to get out, it was obvious that it was going to happen (hide spoiler)], but it was still a great read. I also appreciate how, while reading this book, I could briefly live in a world where a female US president won the 2016 elections.
All in all, it's a very fun read. I definitely recommend it for anyone who is interested in it....more

I might have felt a bit more like a 4.5 this time, but still kept the 5 star rating because even though it was a reread, I had a lot fo trouble putting it down. I'm glad I reread it during the tv show, so I can now keep an eye out for changes. I'd really recommend the show too, so far I really like it. --- Last year, I absolutely loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, so I really looked forward to this book as well. I don't think I like it quite as much, but it was still very very good, and definitely worth five stars.
The format of this book is very interesting. It's written as a series of interviews cut together, so you hear different people's takes on events in the band's history. This causes some hilarious contradictions sometimes, when people remember things differently (or simply insist on different things)
What this book did really well was show the complex relationships between people. I loved everyone in this book so much, and felt very invested in this fictional band. I really enjoyed Daisy as a character, but I liked Billy and the rest of the band a lot too. The problems the people in the band had seemed very realistic and nuanced, and the author did a great job of making me believe everything that had happened. It felt very real.
I also have to say Taylor Jenkins Reid has a way of describing fictional media. I noticed this in the previous book I read of her, where she describes movies Evelyn Hugo acted in, but in this book it's even more apparent. She manages to convey the feeling of songs and albums entirely through written words. It's very well done.
All in all, a really good book. It didn't quite grab me as much as Evelyn Hugo's story did, but on its own it's really a fantastic story. I definitely recommend it!...more

I mostly remember what my review originally said, and I still mostly agree with that. I think this book was cute and enjoyable, but a love triangle just wasn't really what I felt was necessary in this series at this point. It felt a little like Lara Jean and Peter barely got to have any time being happy together before it was all complicated again by drama that felt a little bit fake. But at the same time, it was a very enjoyable book to read and I do think them having problems is realistic for their age. My favorite aspect of these books is still the family dynamic between Lara-Jean and her sisters and dad. Her and Peter are also cute, and I like her friendships too. A cute and fluffy read, but with some substance too. Just like the other books in the series....more

It's still such a fun light book to delve into, and I had a lot of fun rereading it. I still stand by my 4 star rating from last year, but I feel like I might reread this book again in the future. I'm not sure if I'll get to the sequels too, but I kind of want to!
--- After reading a really violent and upsetting (though good) book, I knew I needed something light and fluffy for my brain. This book seemed like the perfect choice, and it was.
When To All The Boys I've Loved Before first came out, I had no interest in it. Back then I mainly read YA fantasy and didn't have much patience for contemporary books. It still isn't my favorite genre, but I have started to appreciate it when I'm in the right mood.
And this book really is fun to read. It's like having a cute, pastel colored dream. I liked the characters a lot and they carried the story for a big part. The plot is a bit cliche, but with the way the author develops the supporting cast and main characters it doesn't bother me. The only reason this doesn't have 5 stars (because I really flew through it) is because I felt like the ending was too abrupt and not very satisfying. Though it did get me to pick up the sequel right away....more
