PBL Reflection

The student contributed to a class project on the water cycle by drawing and labeling the different parts of the water cycle. They learned that time management is important for completing group projects. They also gained experience with personal responsibility by ensuring they had all the necessary information for their shared poster. Working with a partner, they collaborated on the project but did not have to significantly problem solve. The project helped prepare the student for college and careers by teaching them to do independent research and that teamwork can help finish projects more quickly.

Project-Based Learning Reflection

Class in which you did the project: Earth Science

Brief project description: Water Cycle

Your role for the project: Drawing the cycle

What did you do, personally, to contribute to the overall project? Be specific!
I mostly drew the water cycle then labeled everything that's in the water cycle.

What did you learn about yourself in terms of time management, personal responsibility,
problem-solving, collaboration, or other soft skills via this project?
I learned that time management was an important thing and played a huge roll in this
project. I also had some personal responsibilities because i did do the project with a
partner in the same class so i was in charge of making sure i had all the information on the
poster. I collaborated with my friend in the same class. As for problem-solving we both
didn't really have to do that.

If you had an industry expert or mentor who assisted with this project, what are some things that
you learned from this person?
I worked with my partner and she was very helpful.

How has this experience helped prepare you for college or careers beyond high school?
This project help me understand that were not always going to get the answers from our
teachers so we have to do research and it also help me understand that working with others
is a good thing and will help you finish your project faster.
