To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter in support of Mychala Sfida’s candidacy for a position in your District. In my
capacity as an Adjunct Professor at Kutztown University, I was Mychala’s professor during her
professional semester in the course Teaching Mathematics/Grades 2-4. Additionally, I was her
supervisor for her second placement of student teaching which was done virtually. During this
experience, Mychala was required to professionally develop herself with guidance in the areas of
planning instruction, setting up the classroom environment, and developing professional plans
incorporating family involvement and assessments.

Mychala is a highly dependable and intelligent individual. She will be graduating with her degree in
Elementary Education this May. As one of her professors, I have witnessed first-hand Mychala’s
dedication and commitment to her education. Although I have only known Mychala for one year, she
has impressed me with her hard work, her commitment to accomplish her assignments and her detailed
lesson planning. In observing her interaction with her peers, Miss Sfida displays a professional
demeanor, a calming presence and a positive attitude. She is creative, professional, and deeply
meticulous.

Miss Sfida exhibits many of the necessary qualities to be an excellent teacher. She exemplifies
enthusiasm, passion for teaching, responsibility and professionalism. She establishes an excellent
rapport with her peers, mentors and supervisors alike. She will strive to engage students in active
learning as well as provide equitable opportunities for all students. One of Mychala’s greatest strengths
is that she will deal with every student as an individual and demonstrate a commitment to respecting
each and every student’s dignity.

Mychala Sfida will be an asset to any school district. I give her my recommendation for any available
