Reflection essay

Through my last semester at UNF I believe my writing has improved but have not seen

any drastic changes. Back in Puerto Rico, we would learn how to create different types of

writing assignments, but I will say nothing like what I had for this class. Those assignments

covered subjects that ranged from literature to professional environment writing styles. I think

my writing has always been the same, the only thing that has changed are the assignments.

Personally, it was a bit challenging trying to do those without any knowledge about them, but I

think my professors have made it easier for me. I believe I have met my goals in all my English

classes, especially in this one. At the beginning of the semester, I wanted to learn new things

not just writing essays or doing poems. Another thing that helped me a lot was the peer review

with my classmates. I believe that receiving feedback not only from your professor but from

those who are doing the same assignment it's a big help. You never know who needs something

you have, or you need something they have already done. Having that opportunity of receiving

multiple feedback not matter positive or negative has helped me improve my way of writing.

While the assignments where a bit difficult, I enjoyed it, because that is how real life works,

nothing will ever be easy.

If I had to choose which assignment was my favorite, it would have to be the

engagement project. I loved that one. I know it's not part of the portfolio, but it was so much
fun to do and prepare for. Like I said, I love a challenge and that one delivered. It was

something I wouldn’t expect from an English class, so when we were first introduced to it, I was

like “what is this?”. Regarding the ones from the portfolio, my favorite was the white paper

task. I loved doing that one. It was a long assignment, but it was a topic I was really interested

in, and really enjoyed the organization and how professional it looked. All of the assignments

were very helpful and will prepare me for future work assignments. I believe I would have

enjoyed more on leaning about professional documents and how to write in a more

professional tone. I think that would be helpful since I am about to enter the work force. Having

the opportunity of having more workshops where we could all talk about our assignments and

finds ways to make them better. Assignments and workshops like that one expands my

knowledge and will make me feel a lot more confident in my future job. As well as maybe a

group project to help those for presenting to a public audience or business. I think that would

have helped me a lot because I don’t like presenting Infront of people, but I do need to practice

and loose that fear.
