Daisy’s Nine Square Crochet Along 2019

Square 6 – Waves

We will be working the whole square in one piece from bottom to top or side to side depending on
which way around you decide your final square to be placed. As always, it’s up to you when you
change your yarn, and which order your colours go or if you follow the placement recommendation.

1. sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in next 4 ch, *hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc in next 9 sts* repeat
across, end with sc in last 5 sts, turn (85 sts)

We’re now going to give this square a border

of each row as follows:
 Around the post of the tr – sc 3
 In the wide sides – sc 8
 In the narrow sides – sc 3

Then working across the bottom, in the first ch of the row create a corner, (sc1 ch3 sc2), sc
to the last st and create another corner (sc2 ch3 sc1)

Working back up the other side as follows:

 In the first narrow side – sc4
 In the wide sides – sc 8
 In the following narrow sides – sc 3
 Around the post of the tr – sc 3

Create a corner in the top of ch4(tr), (sc1 ch3 sc1), sc across to the last st, repeat on all sides,
for last corner sc1 ch3, slst into the first sc (check this for sts count)
86 sts each side

(I made a shortened version of the square to test and to be able to show both corners)

2. Starting in a corner, [ch3 (counts as a dc), dc1 ch2 dc2 into same ch-sp], dc in all sts across
to the corner (dc2 ch2 dc2), repeat on all sides (90 sts each side)

3. Starting in a corner, [ch3 (counts as a dc), dc1 ch2 dc2 into same ch-sp], bpdc around all sts
to the corner (dc2 ch2 dc2), repeat on all sides (94 sts each side)

4. Starting in a corner, ch1 (does not count as a st), (sc1 ch2 sc1) into same ch-sp, sc in all sts
across to the corner (sc1 ch2 sc1), repeat on all sides (96 sts each side)
