Daisy’s Nine Square Crochet Along 2019

Square 8 – Circles

We are going to make 16 of these little squares, it’s a little repetitive but as with everything else you
can play around with colour combinations.

ch2, in the first ch or magic loop you will:


1. ch2, 12 dc into 1st ch from hook or make a magic loop and work ch3 (counts as a dc), dc11
into the loop, sl st into 2nd ch of beginning ch2, tighten loop (12 sts)

2. ch3 (counts as a dc), dc into the same stitch, dc2 in each st around, slst into the 3rd ch of
beginning ch3 (24 sts)

3. ch3 (counts as dc), dc in the same stitch, dc in next st, *dc2 in next st, dc in next st*, repeat
to end, slst into the 3rd ch of beginning ch3 (36 sts)

4. Working in the back loops only


[ch3 (counts as dc), dc into the same stitch, ch1, dc2 in the same stitch (corner made)] *hdc
in next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, corner (dc2 ch1 dc2) into next stitch*, repeat
around, omitting the last corner, slst into the 3rd ch of beginning ch3 (12 sts each side)

5. Starting in a corner, [ch3 (counts as dc), dc, ch2, dc2 into the same ch-sp (corner made)],
*dc across to next ch-sp, corner (dc2 ch2 dc2) *, repeat from * to end, omitting the last corner,
slst into 3rd ch of beginning ch3 (16 sts each side)

6. Repeat Round 5, fasten off (20 sts each side)

Put these together in a four by four grid, with right sides facing each other, join with outer loops only,
starting and finishing with a sc stitch through the ch-sp corners. Working in the round you will
complete the next three rows.

1. blsc in all side stitches, when you come to a corner ch-sp, work a sc into that space too,
corners (sc1, ch2, sc1) (88 sts each side)

2. bphdc around all side stitches, corners (hdc2 ch2 hdc2) (92 sts each side)
3. sc in all side stitches, corners (sc2 ch2 sc2) (96 sts each side)
