Crafty Intentions - Sirenas
Crafty Intentions - Sirenas
It is
recommended for advanced beginner skill level or above. Gauge is not crucial to the pattern of the body, head,
and limbs, as long as the stitches are tight enough to hold the stuffing. A D or G size crochet hook is
recommended with worsted weight (Medium 4) yarn and you will need a darning needle to weave in the yarn
ends and sew any holes shut. A Mermaid from this pattern is approximately 7 inches tall and about 1-2 inches
wide. This pattern is written in U.S. terminology. Have fun!
                                                                                Page | 1

Sl St to beginning JOINING: Most of this pattern is written with a Slip Stitch, Chain 1 joining method
Stitch, Ch 1 for each row. This DOES affect the shape of each piece, but in a minor way, as the
piece was written with the seam shift in mind. If you prefer to crochet in spiral/in
the round you are welcome to try it but I do not guarantee that all asymmetrical
sections will come out exactly as shown.

**Pro-tip: Hair Curl Stitches are not counted in the stitch count. For the
following rows, make sure you do not work into the hair curls. It can be
difficult to see the stitches on either side of these curls – use a stitch marker if
you have trouble. Make sure you keep the hair curls in front of your work,
otherwise they will end up underneath the hair cap when you try to attach it to
                       the head.

be easier to do the positioning without Row 40. If you are doing a “standing”
mermaid, then continue to Row 40, and no positioning or Soft Sculpting is
                       necessary.

                       1, Turn
**Pro-Tip: Row 1’s instructions should have a left over six chains that you will
not crochet into before you Ch 1, Turn, and continue to Row 2.
**Pro-Tip: Your first 6 Single Crochet stitches in a Row will be AROUND the
last 6 Slip Stitches in Row 1. You will actually be crocheting into the Original
Chain. Anytime you Single Crochet into a previous Slip Stitch, this will be how
it’s done – Crochet AROUND the slip stitch, and into the same stitch you’d slip
                       stitched into.

difficult to see the stitches on either side of these curls – use a stitch marker if

that are in the row. The Ch 2’s are there to help raise your hook or lower your
