HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE
NEVER CHOOSE SIZE BY AGE, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS AND SIZE CHART FOR EACH PATTERN
The sizes that come from ready-made clothes and patterns are only a general indica-
tion of the body measurements – in reality, each body is different. Always start a new
sewing project with taking measurements of your child.
Step 1
Remove all loose, thick, bulky clothes. Wear underwear and bra for measurements if the
garment is designed to be worn with them
Step 2
MEASURE CHEST
Step 3
MEASURE WAIST
Measure the circumference at the narrowest part of the
waist.
Step 4
MEASURE HIP
Do not pull the tape measure “too” tight. Allow for a little movement. This is a per-
fect fit measurement so when sizing your child allow room for growth.

HOW TO USE THIS PATTERN
NEW TO SEWING? READ THIS GUIDE TO LEARN ABOUT DIFFERENT PATTERN FORMATS AND HOW TO USE THEM
To start with, a sewing pattern is a guide to sew a garment shape at a desired size. It in-
cludes a set of flat pieces drawn on paper helping to cut fabric and thus sew a garment.
All my patterns include sewing instructions to assemble these pieces together in the right
order. Sewing patterns come in several sizes and the sizes are drawn by lines of different
styles in a nested way, so that you can cut the size you need easily.
With your purchase you will find 3 formats of the same pattern: print at home, copy shop
and projector format.
Projector format
“Projector” format is a special one for experienced sew-
ist. who prefers to project their patterns using a projector
device directly onto the fabric.

HOW TO PRINT THIS PATTERN
GENERAL GUIDELINES, TO DO AND NOT TO DO WHEN PRINTING YOUR PATTERN AT HOME
First, Download the “print_at_home.pdf“ file to your own computer. Don’t print a file
from Google Drive or Mac preview or you may have issues with scaling.
You can view and print pattern from any PDF viewer
but it is recommended to use Adobe Reader. Why?
Because in Adobe Reader you can hide the sizes you
don’t want to print. To do so:
• Open *_pattern_print_at_home.pdf file in Adobe
Reader
• Click on icon with layer squares
• Turn off unwanted sizes by clicking the ‘eye’ icon
on sizes you don’t need. In the picture below, for
example, only size 6-9 months will be printed.
Keep the “Common” layer visible.

KNIT SEWING TIPS
Tip 1
Use walking foot, it prevents the fabric from being stretched
out as it’s sewn.
Tip 2
Use a narrow zig zag stitch or stretch stitch. It
will allow the seam to stretch without popping.
Tip 3
Use ballpoint or stretch needle. The tip of the nee-
dle is rounded, so it can glide through the knit
fibers, instead of piercing like a sharp needle.
Tip 4
Knit fabrics do not fray so you can simply trim down the excess seam allowance
after finishing a stitch.
Tip 5
Prewash knit fabric before cutting pieces so your garment would not shrink after
the first wash.

DIRECTIONS
Step 1:
With right sides facing, pin front and
back shoulders together.
Sew with 3/8” (1 cm) seam allowance.
Press the seam toward the back bodice.
11
Step 2:
With right sides facing, pin sleeve head
to armhole. Line the middle point of the
sleeve with the shoulder seam. Match the
edges of the sleeve to marks on the bod-
ice. Sew with 3/8” (1 cm) seam allowance.
Press seams toward the sleeve.
Repeat for the other side.
Step 3:
Align the underarm seam and side seam,
right sides together. Make sure that bodice
and sleeve seams match. Sew with 3/8” (1
cm) seam allowance. Sew in one go, from
wrist to waistline. Repeat for the other
side.
Step 4:
With right sides together, sew your wrist
cuffs closed parallel to the grain line.
Stitch with 3/8” (1 cm) seam allowance.
Press the seam open.
12
Step 5:
Fold them in half so the wrong side is
folded onto itself so it forms a cuff.
Step 6:
Turn the garment inside out. Place the
wrist cuff inside the sleeve so all raw
edges are lined up. Align the sleeve and
cuff’s side seams. The folded edge will be
inside the sleeve.
Step 7:
Sew the cuff by stretching it to fit the
sleeve. Repeat for the other sleeve.
13
Step 8:
Fold the hem band in half right sides
together. Sew the short edge. Press the
seam open.
Step 9:
Fold the band in half lengthwise wrong
sides together and press with iron.
Step 10:
Slide the band inside the bottom of the
bodice right sides together. Align the
seam of the waistband with the side seam
of the bodice. Sew the band onto the
sweatshirt, stretching it to fit.
Step 11:
Sew the band onto the sweatshirt, stretch-
ing it to fit.
14
Step 12:
Fold the neckband piece so that the two
short ends are right sides together, and
stitch with 3/8 ”(1 cm) seam allowance.
Step 13:
Fold in half long ways with wrong sides
together and press with iron.
Step 14:
Mark your neckband in quarter points
along the raw edge, using the seam as
one of the points (simply fold in half with
seam as one side and mark the other end.
Then line up the seam and that mark to
find the other two quarter points).
Step 15:
Find your front piece, then line up the
two seams on each side so that you can
find the middle of the front. Make a
mark. Repeat for the back piece. Now
line up the two center lines on the front
and back piece, so you can find the other
two quarter points. Make a mark. Note
that they will not be at the shoulder
seams.
Find your back piece again and line up
the seam in the neckband piece to the
center back line that you made. Pin in
place.
15
Step 16:
Match all the remaining marks and
pin them. Sew the neck band onto
the sweatshirt, stretching it to fit.
