SPLIT – VIPER DOUBLE DIVE

POWERED BY
HELLO! SPLIT: VIPER DOUBLE DIVE
2

'ELLO T8RZ
Hey y'all.

This week we give you a very slight twist (Omen for Astra) for the
most meta-comp on Split currently. Defensively the playbook is
pretty simple, almost a "1 macro Defence" in which our entire
playbook works around Viper denying middle. On Attack we send it
with our double-dive! :D

We recommend you use this stratbook as a guide, copy it to

begin with then create your own styles. We will also be releasing
additional content around the stratbooks and welcome any
suggestions and feedback!

See you on the server :)

Many thanks!

DEFAULT 6

OVERVIEW

This Default has been the meta way

to play Viper on this map for a while.

Our goal is to delay/deny middle for

as long as possible and push the
attack into the extremities. This relies
on a very comfortable Viper player!
As we have middle control; we have
more information and access to
quicker rotations through the centre
of the map.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- Anytime except for full-ecos!
- We have Viper or Omen Ult IF A IS CLEAR:
RAMP PLAYER CAN ROTATE TO MIDDLE
Inspired by:
Every Viper Double Dive team...
(but DRX will be our primary
inspiration today!)

VIPER ULT VARIATION

DEFAULT: ORB MAIL ROOM 7

OVERVIEW

As our Default relies so much on

Viper's ability to stall (which takes
a lot of discipline, aim, and brains!),
there may be times we feel we aren't
dying too much at middle or not being
efficient at trading utility.

Our back-up option is for Viper

to either start B Heaven, or taking
an early timing during the round
to pick up the orb at middle and
reposition it to top Mail Room.

The implications of this are that

Raze will be rotating towards A
through CT and the A players need
to be comfortable playing without
information on vents.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- We are struggling to hold middle

B MAIN TAKE 8

OVERVIEW

This comp doesn't have many tools

to fight space with; but Omen and
Raze playing towards B Main as a mix-
up idea should be enough to punish
the Attackers or make them think
twice about taking it in future rounds!

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- We are giving up B Main too easily
- Omen is unable to take B main solo
- We are 1 off a valuable Ult

Example:
DRX vs C9

STRONGSIDE A 9

OVERVIEW

We have shown a few different PASSIVE DOUBLE RAMP A PUSH

STRONGSIDE A (which just means
more players A!) as there are a few
subtle differences in the reasons for
calling each one.

At worst: play 3A at the start because

you think the Attack is likely to rush A
in the first few seconds; then rotate
off if they haven't!

Examples:
DRX vs C9 (PUSH)
DRX vs C9 (DOUBLE RAMP)

LOWBUY: JUDGES 11

OVERVIEW

Judges on Defence Split are... broken.

We haven't prescribed a setup here
but know that any setup that uses
a few of these positions (in particular
mail room) is gunna have a decent
shot of winnning the round!
Seen are common Judge positions
that make sense within the Default
we are running.

WALK DOWN MID 12

OVERVIEW

The WALK DOWN MID is an aggressive

round we will probably use once or
twice a game maximum. It is designed
to catch the attack off-guard with
a free pick or two in middle.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

-Mid player's make a read that the
Attack is taking middle with minimal
utility
-Mid player's make a read that Attack
comes to middle later into the round

Example:
DRX vs T1

RAZE ULT – PUSH A 13

OVERVIEW

There are many great ways to use

Raze Ult on this map but we chose the
most fun; instantly double satchelling
outside A!

If we have an OP on Jett then she will

clean up the Attack's B reaction. If Jett
cannot get an OP she can switch with
Omen.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- We have Raze Ult
- Preferably we have Jett OP

DRX vs EDG

RETAKES 14

OVERVIEW

Here is our suggested Retakes. RETAKE A – RAMP RETAKE A – IGNORE RAMP RETAKE B
Retaking A will be something we
have to get good at as it's a site that
is relatively easy to retake; and may
be in positions to have to play retake
many times during a game.
The B Site is hard to retake with
consistent results but we included
an exmaple!

15
DEFAULT: B/MID 16

OVERVIEW

Our B/Mid Default will be our most

common Default idea. As soon as we
get a read as to where we want to end,
we should just do it; our brute-force
execs are too strong! If we don't get
a read, then take ropes and try to
make a call quickly after.

Ideally, we don't need to default too

much with this composition; we can
just send it with aggressive execs.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- Fast strats aren't working (which
should be pretty rare!)
- We want to mix up the momentum
to condition the Defender's not to
expect another fast strat

FAST A 18

OVERVIEW

Our Fast A relies on our double-dive to

make space, hopefully finding a kill for
an advantaged postplant.

We have the option to keep Viper spits

for postplant, depending on how easy
we think it will be to take the site.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- We think A Site is weak (1 Defender
on-site maximum, little risk of fast
rotators)
- We have Raze Ult

FAST A SPLIT 19

OVERVIEW

Our Fast A Split allows us to quickly

take ramp with Raze whilst still
retaining space-making into A main
from Jett.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- We think their control over the A
Main choke is too strong and we
need to pressure ramp
- We think the Raze might get a kill
on the Defender on ramp

FAST B 20

OVERVIEW

WITH JUDGE
Our Fast B makes the common B
holding spots borderline impossible
for the Defender's to hold. We
should find that we are able to gain
advantages or go into even postplants
a lot in Premier with this strat!

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT: WITH RIFLE

- Defender's are trying to solo hard
hold B site against double dive
(instead of playing to surive around
pillar/CT with teammate support)
- We have Omen Ult

FAST B SPLIT 21

OVERVIEW

The Fast B Split is designed to catch

off Defender's on mailroom. It is
probably the strat that is most likely
to fail once the Defender's "catch on",
but may win us a couple of rounds
during the game.

WHEN TO CALL THIS STRAT:

- We think the Defender's mailroom
players will be caught off by the idea
- Potential low econ strat
- We have Jett Ult

VIPER ULT (POSTPLANT) 22

OVERVIEW

We think Viper Ults are best used in B A

Postplants. Calling a fast strat with the
intention of using the Viper Ult in post
is a great way to call with this comp.
