With a measuring tape: Make a slip knot
Measure the circumference of your waist. Row 1: Ch your ch number (57), ch 1, sc from the 2nd st
Divide your circumference by 2. (A) from your hook, sc until end of row (57 sc in total)
Calculate how many stitches you’ll need to chain by Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in 1st st from hook, ch 1, sk a st, sc in

rows)
Then ch 1, cut your yarn (approx 10cm)
And there’s your first panel!

Before starting the back panels :

Define the width of the tied open part in the back; I’d
recommend a width of 15 ch.
Note: If you’d like the open tied part to be smaller choose
a smaller width. If you’d like the open tied part to be
larger choose a bigger width.
For the purpose of the pattern we’ll use an example Substract 15 from the width of your front pannel :
in which the waist circumference is 60 cm. 57 - 15 = 42
60 / 2 = 30 cm Then divide by 2 : 42 / 2 = 21 chains
30 / 10 = 3 21 chains is going to be the width of your two back
3 x 19 = 57 chains. panels.
