🔹 Past Continuous Tense

✅ Definition (Tareef)
Past Continuous Tense un kaamon ko zahir karta hai jo maazi (past) ke kisi waqt chal rahe
the, lekin mukammal nahi huay the.
Yani kaam us waqt progress mein tha.

Example:

✅ Structure
👉
Affirmative (musbat):
Subject + was/were + verb (1st form + ing) + object + time.

👉
Negative (manfi):
Subject + was/were + not + verb (1st form + ing) + object + time.

👉
Interrogative (sawaliya):
Was/Were + Subject + verb (1st form + ing) + object + time + ?

---

✅ Helping Verbs (Forms & Rules)

Was → Singular subjects (He, She, It, I) ke sath.

Were → Plural subjects (We, You, They) ke sath.

Aur main verb ki 1st form + ing lagti hai, kyun?

Kyunki continuous tense ka matlab hi "kaam chal raha tha" hota hai, aur "ing" lagane se
progress dikhai deti hai.

Example:

He was playing cricket.

They were watching TV.
