Barbara Ballard (Democratic Party) is a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 44. She assumed office in 1993. Her current term ends on January 11, 2027.
Ballard (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 44. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
In the 2015 session, Ballard began serving as Minority Caucus Chair.
Biography
Ballard earned her B.Me.Ed. from Webster College, and her M.S. and Ph.D from Kansas State University. Her professional experience includes working as an elementary school teacher, dean of students at the University of Kansas, and director of the Emily Taylor Women's Resource Center.[1]

The test, which is administered to all candidates for presidential, congressional, gubernatorial, and state legislative offices, asks one central question - "Are you willing to tell citizens your positions on the issues you will most likely face on their behalf?"[3]

Elections for the Kansas House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 2, 2014. Incumbent Barbara Ballard was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election.[8][9]

Ballard won re-election in the 2012 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 44. She ran unopposed in the August 7 Democratic primary and defeated Patrick Bengtson (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10][11]
2010
Ballard won re-election to the 44th District Seat in 2010 with no opposition. She was also unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[12]
2008
On November 4, 2008, Ballard was re-elected to the 44th District Seat in the Kansas House of Representatives with no opposition.[13] She raised $11,192 for her campaign.[14]
