Thomas Rando was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He earned a high school diploma from Cumberland High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from Assumption University in 2011. His career experience includes working as a general manager.[1]

|Upon graduating from Cumberland High School in 2006, Alex continued his education at Assumption University where he majored in Political Science and Philosophy. During this time he was fortunate to serve in the Constituent Service Office of, then governor, Deval Patrick.
After graduating from Assumption University, Alex began his career as a General Manager in the recycling industry. He currently works for one of the largest recycling companies in the world. As a GM, Alex has been recognized for workplace safety as well as environmental excellence and high performance.
Alex continues to be very actively involved in the community through a variety of organizations and activities as well as an active member of St. Joan of Arc parish in Cumberland.In his spare time, Alex enjoys camping, hiking, riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.
- Economy – The cost of living MUST be brought down. We will fight relentlessly to make RI an affordable place to live and work. We MUST support economic growth and quality job creation and let companies know RI is open for business.
- Education – Education is the bed rock of any great society. Without quality education our state will continue to struggle. Investment in our students is key for our students’ growth and our economic growth. A highly educated workforce will attract quality/high paying jobs.
- Infrastructure – Infrastructure is usually the first thing people notice when the visit a new place. Whether that is a businessperson here to make investments or a tourist here to enjoy our state. What people see when they step outside TF Green is what they perceive. We must make RI a place that people want to invest in and visit.
