This 1993 Daihatsu Hijet Climber is a four-wheel-drive kei truck that was acquired by the seller from Japan and imported to the US in April 2019. Finished in white over a reupholstered gray interior, it is powered by a 660ci inline-three paired with a five-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and a locking rear differential. Service under current ownership included installation of 13″ Mazda wheels with new Kumho tires, replacement of the front brake pads and a CV boot, a coolant flush, and more. This Hijet is offered at no reserve with importation documents and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The cab and bed are finished in white with red stripes, and the latter features bottom-hinged side panels that can be dropped for loading and unloading. The seller states that the left front corner has been repaired prior to his acquisition. The factory Climber package added a cargo bed light and a locking rear differential. A walk-around video is provided here.
Four-lug 13″ Mazda wheels wear 175/70 Kumho Solus TA11 tires that are said to have been fitted under current ownership. A steel spare with older rubber is located under the bed. The truck rides on new KYB front struts with high-travel QA1 coil springs, and the seller also replaced the front brake pads and a CV boot.
The seller has installed new two-tone vinyl covers on the twin front seats, both of which are equipped with shoulder belts, while the floor is protected by rubber mats. The air conditioning high pressure switch, thermistor, and amplifier have been bypassed, and the latter is thought to be inoperative.
Metric instrumentation includes a 130-km/h speedometer housing a five-digit odometer that reads approximately 79k kilometers (~49k miles), Â 700 miles of which have been added by the seller.
The 660ci triple is located under an access panel in the bed, and is said to have been serviced in May 2019 with a coolant flush and oil change as well as replacement of the air filter. A cold-start video can be seen here.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and a locking rear differential that can be engaged in either rear- or four-wheel drive. AÂ driving video is provided below.
