Whimsical Lettering Gift Tags

One of the workshops I did for the Worcester Public Library involved whimsical lettering and making gift tags. With white cardstock provided by the library, I printed a tag template that contained half a dozen or so tags in various widths. I also had available holiday motifs to cut out and color. I made samples of the front of the tag.

Just some simple tags that were quick and fun to make.

Tombow Markers

A couple of weeks ago, Tombow ran a Lightning Deal on Amazon. 96 brush markers with a holder. Chatting with A, she asked if I had seen the deal. She's been using the markers and told me how it's helped loosen her death grip. There are lots of ways of using and blending the markers. I was a little hesitant about the price, but A said it was a really good price. So...

I'm enjoying the brush markers. All the fun of juicy water colors without all the mixing. They don't work quite like watercolors though and heavier weight paper is needed to blend the colors without leaving sharp edges.

Coloring Pages Stories

I've been having fun coloring the pages from the Bodleian Library coloring book. Coloring is very meditative, but I've also been making up stories about the pictures.

Top panel: Man in Green: He was with my wife, first. I demand satisfaction.
                  Man in Red: He was with my wife, first. I demand satisfaction.
                  Man Tied to Horse: Actually, gentleman, I was with the horse first.

Bottom Panel: Man in Red: I'm the leader. We go this way.
                        Man in Blue: I'm the leader. We go that way.
                        Man in Yellow: I need coffee. Look, there's a Dunkies!
