Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol

Postcard IDRU-3645356
Country: Russia

Here is an interesting art postcard sent to me by Dasha from Russia. I think that everyone knows who is Marilyn Monroe, so I'll add to this post some info about Andy Warhol.

Andy Warhol was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. The Andy Warhol Museum in his native city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives. It is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to a single artist.

Still life

Postcard IDCN-1332251
Country: China

Here is one more piece of art in my blog. As I don't know Chinese (except some primitive hieroglyphs), I don't understand anything on this postcard.
However the sender really surprised me. Firstly, he studied in Minsk, but not in the same university like me :)
Secondary, he added to a postcard some checks, souvenir banknotes and other different papers with  hieroglyphs (I have no idea what is that :)).

As usual here are Chinese stamps (it seems that Chinese post issues more stamps for postcrosser that other countries:)):

Horsewoman by Igor Filippov

Postcard IDUA-1068198
Country: Russia, Ukraine

It was really surprise to find this card in an envelope with beautiful stickers.

I am not a fan of contemporary art. For me this card would be better without horsewoman, but with Eiffel tower :)

Igor Filippov is Russian artist, who was born in 1961 in Sevastopol. He graduated from Sevastopol children's art school and later studied at St. Petersburg on the art-graphic faculty of Pedagogical University.

He has lived and worked abroad, primarily in Scandinavia. In 2008 he showed interesting exhibition by Scandinavian, Russian legends and myths of the Soviet era at the Ukrainian/Russian gallery "Green Pyramid".

Each of  paintings "Trip to Paris" is a small story about Paris, the city of love and dreams, a city familiar and unexpected. Each person has his own Paris. This card shows Paris of Igor Filippov.
